I do the same with my EOtech. It has a little splash, so I pick a high point of the splash and use that instead of the dot center (even tho the dot is 1MOA it’s probably 1.5moa with the splash and all)

If you can load a bullet in these longer rifles that have a higher bc it’s amazing how far you can impact tgts beyond a grand. The Berger 80.5 full bore can be loaded mag length and if you extrapolate the drag model of the bullet to a g-1 coefficient in my DD mk-12 at 1000 yds the g-1 bc works out to be 0.450. It’s closer to 0.460 at 770 yds. This bullet flies great into trans and Ssubsonic regions. This load earlier today was supersonic to 950 yds and went subsonic at 1167 yds. Impacts were very predictable at 1280 yds today in today’s environment. Loved the content and breakdown of the rigs, thanks!!!

Something i think is an interesting concept, would be a blend of the spr and automatic rifle. Using an spr upper with a auto, or supersafty lower. I would think that for a civilian squad with low manning pulling double duty would be valuable. The benefit of the super safety is that you could potentially use a precision trigger, and have the function of a 3 position safety.
The other benefit is that for those with spr upper already the only physical modification is the safety, and I guess magazines. It would be good to consider keeping an extra barrel around, assuming you have to tools to build uppers already.

I have two Super Tricon triggers that I replaced the springs on with SSA-E springs. Gives me the pull of a SSA-E and the textured feel of the shoe is great for muscle memory. The slightly rear ward sweep of the Super Tricon makes riding your thumb on the right side feel short, but when you move your thumb over to a standard grip it improves by quite a bit.
My Ballistic Advantage 14.5 SS Hanson barrel did a 1.38 inch 10 shot group on 6x last month with AAC 77g. The complete upper including Sig MSR 1-6 scope was right at $1,000. My 18 inch Faxon Gunner Match will do a .99 MOA 10 shot group with an Athlon 2-12x with the AAC SMK 77g, still only about a $1,300 complete upper including the scope.
4:23 - i actually see the value in a bi-pod that expensive. A friend of mine runs the same MDT bi-pod and I LOVE it...but idk man. Something about good ole Harris style bi-pods that just keeps me coming back to them all the time
People may not like me for it, but I run the 434 trigger in all my rifles, with the exception of my night rifle, which is a 2 stage Gis. Never had an issue with the 434 with over 1k rounds of build up, and its still as crisp as the day I received it, and reset is strong. I just love them but some dont due to the more narrow trigger face.
Your atlas bipod... If loose no matter how much you tighten it, you might have it tightened the wrong way. Loosen it until it gets tight again and try that. Should help. If not, send it in.
My 14.5 BCM with ELW/BFH barrel also shoots like 2.5-3moa but the optic on it has a very thick reticle so I could probably shrink the groups down a bit with a better optic. If you want a true 1 moa GPR then Geissele Super Duty or URGI is the answer. Their barrels are remarkably accurate for CHF/CL barrels.
I’ve never had good luck with Ballistic Advantage barrels. Have had 4 premium series and sold them all. Have had some good groups with them, but they are not consistent grouping barrels by any means. Reloading for the first one I had was beyond frustrating and I wasted so much time trying to find a combo it liked. Finally did, 22.6 gr of XBR 8208 and 77gr SMK. Don’t know why I gave 3 more of their barrels chances. While my Rainier Arms and White Oak barrels were a breeze and liked several different recipes. If you attempt to shoot 3-5 5 shot groups with that barrel I can about guarantee it won’t be .6-.8 MOA. Especially if you try any other round other than the single one it seems to shoot decent. Not knocking you guys, just telling my experience with BA. Also had a 6 ARC BA barrel that was 2-3 MOA with all the Hornady factory loads.

Yeah, most ARs are not precision rifle (SPR) candidates. My 20" BA will produce 1" groups (most of the time) with Fed 69gr Gold Medal. When I first built it I shot about 125 five round groups with match ammo. When I averaged all the groups I got 1.38 MOA, which I'm pretty happy with. Fed 69gr Gold Medal is expensive so I mostly shoot ADI 69gr out of it which seldom produces a 1 moa group, but consistently shoots 1.25(ish) MOA groups. Most of my other uppers shoot between 1.5-2 MOA with match ammo and between 2-4 MOA with M193 and XM855 clones. What's funny is how much variances exist between rifles, some of them like PMC, others like Federal, and others like IMI. Makes buying a single type of ball a challenge....

I have a couple trigger tech diamond single stage triggers and they've been one of my favorites for a while. The one I have in my favorite rifle has about 2500 rounds on it since I put it in. Mostly suppressed and my lower is absolutely filthy. It's full of carbon and grease and other crap and I've never cleaned it out. I've never once had an issue with that trigger. But I also got the nicest one they sell. And if the weight on the one in that rifle is a problem, I'm assuming that means it's not adjustable, which means it might be one of the cheaper ones. Either way, it's unacceptable for a trigger to have an issue like that, but I guess I'm just saying all triggertech triggers aren't like that and I've never had an issue with mine despite it being full of carbon and other stuff

Most people can't afford these super, in my opinion overpriced products. Nomenclature matters, even in the military the spr stand for special purpose receiver. Same thing with cqbr. A general purpose rifle is an 18 inch mk 12esq civilian rifle. A 16 inch general purpose carbine just refers to a 16 inch ar 15 use for general purpose.
Instead of loading a barricade, wouldn't it be better to have the gun balanced on a barricade so you're not the one introducing that extra force that just makes it harder to steady for a precision shot? Having that extra weight up front actually makes it easier, putting the balance point in front of the magazine.

I can tell you haven't used the Kahles K18i gen 2 LPVO 😂 it is by far the best LPVO on the market....The ATACR is up there, but nothing touches the K18i Gen 2 Also you need to try the FCD ASFQ 50° safety! It's the best one I've tried
That is also a legit scope. Its really geared towards a specific end user in competitions, however. I do love that safety! just not for the price lol I also just personally prefer 90 degree throws.

Truly absurd when you consider the cost of materials, machine time, and the cost of labor to assemble it. No way the engineering costs were that high and if they were then that company got SCAMMED. On the atacr you don’t have to shoot groups with the center dot. Use a random post in the reticle.
This guy gets it! on Vortex 1-10 MOA-BDC, first "true" cross hair is at 2.4 MOA. Use that to zero then adjust 2.5 up. You'll be dead on at your zero.

I bought a BCM upper for a LVPO gun. Shot 2.5 MOA. Replaced the barrel with Criterion. 1 MOA.
My criterion 13.9 upper is the most accurate out of all my guns and I shoot it the best. Pretty easily 1 moa with a cheap PA 1-8

69gr always groups better for me too. It seems to be the legit goldilocks cartridge for 5.56 and it performs well at extended range too.

It's basically impossible with an offset on most setups. The problem is getting it lined up with nvgs. But top mounted can work
Its very hard, the scope will get in the way if you have dual tubes. A single tube is possible if you use it over your dominant eye.

Sometimes, yes. Just sorta depends on your position and the barricade. I could be wrong here, but I generally like to load if I can.

Green tip is horrible.. i always have better results with 55 grain over 62. 69 SMK is my favorite

Truly absurd when you consider the cost of materials, machine time, and the cost of labor to assemble it. No way the engineering costs were that high and if they were then that company got SCAMMED. I've worked in engineering/tooling firms my whole adult life. Something as simple as a bipod should not be anywhere near that expensive.
