If you did all side quests first and got the best armor detlaff should start praying . I literally smoked his ass in the first fight with zero dmg taken
Similar timing as when you're fighting a fiend or a chort. Don't dodge immediately, wait for the bats to start flying and flinch, and then you move. Same shit happened to me, I got killed like 4 times before I figured out the timing
Yeah, one time I fought him I cast Quen thinking it would at least shield me from it even if it broke the shield. Nah, it broke the shield and took my health down to like 5%.
Oh man...it really made me sad to hurt Regis, like i really liked him, throughout the books and the DLC...to hurt Regis like that really made me sad. But Dettlaff just...had to be dealt with, because he killed many innocents...
I love how the whole game you never really feel too outmatched if you take good preparation, given you are one of the most experienced and well reknown witchers of the world, yet the game does a real good job of making you firmly understand that there are just a few things in the world that even you should NEVER mess with unless absolutely necessary. Like Detlaff, a true master vampire. He made geralt seem way out of his depth. And don't even get me started on Gaunter.
In The Witcher 3, Geralt can kick the ass of almost every living thing. The only two exceptions are Gaunter and The Unseen Elder. And I feel like if he came really really really prepared, he could probably beat The Unseen Elder and ask Regis to finish him off since only superior vampires can kill other superior vampires, but Gaunter's not to be fucked around with.
@@ArtorioVideojogos I dont think Geralt could beat the unseen elder. And Im very sure the strongest being in the Witcher universe is Ciri when she controls her power. She has the power to control the universe. There is a theory that Gaunter was helping Geralt the whole game finding her. And it actually made sense. Gunter was trying to protect the dimension he was able to collect souls.
Gaunter is a celestial he's bound by karmic law, so not really that tough just be nice to him lol. Like.. if he just killed you, he would have to pay for it, dearly. @Tajny Typ You can find ribbon in a land of thousand fairytails, which you can enter through the book you and Regis found in Syanna's old room. There is a girl with matches, who has it. You can buy it or win by playng gwent with the girl and then find out another way to end the game :)

After that you could just buy it or win a gwent game to get it. If Syanna gets it, she will teleport back to the fairytail, when Detlaff tries to kill her and you'll fight Detlaff. After that, if u want to get the best ending(But i honestly think, that canon is where they both die at the same time, during the process), you just need to talk to Syanna before going to Anarietta and try to convince her to forgive her sister.
@@ButterDog42069 you really think that is the canon ending? I feel like if there was a canon ending (which im not sure of) than ann henrietta would survive in that one so she could be at the party at corvo bianco from the 10 year anniversary Trailer (assuming that that is canon)

The second form of his is really hard in normal to, even if that bat cannon attack (in normal, it takes 2/3 health even if Quen is used with really decent armor) can't one-shoot Geralt.
I barely managed it with hybrid build on death march. I can just imagine him ripping me a new asshole on my pure mage, thankfully I let him live on that one.
I had a mostly sign and some power build. I was playing on NG+ Blood and Broken Bones. It was actually not as hard once you realize the best way to escape the bats and you see his weaknesses in his attacks. It would still be tough for someone who knew the strategy though but hadn't mastered the combat yet. I only got hit in the 3rd phase when I was testing him on the attempt i figured out the strategy. I was getting wrecked by the bats though before tho lol
Ross Davis Blood and Broken Bones first playthrough was pretty good. I don't use any potions at all, I don't craft any swords, and I minimise Quen use (Aard is my favourite). Right now at the start of NG+, I'm finding Death March easy.
198Immortal I like the voice and how it sounds sound like something you'd hear in a mist covered graveyard at night on a full moon while your being stalked by a beast as you cautiously walk through it holding a Lantern
I love how everyone always forgets about the Ekhidna decoction which essentially heals you for about 1/10 of your hp. everytime you cast a sign. Infinite healing for 30 minutes.
I love how everyone forgets there are invincibility frames after the "sound" to cue to start rolling like a madman to be immune to the bat attack, but either way it was still challenging. Whether or not you took the eckidna decoction [basically my last resort for hard fights] he'd still take a good chunk out of your health if you didn't dodge or roll properly, no matter your health boost from alchemy tree or quen boosts. Either way 1000x better than the boss fights of the core game and the Wild Hunt
Yeah, I thought that this boss required some cheesy methods such as disabling him with dimeritium bombs or using black blood before the fight. I wasted way too much time believing that those bats cannot be evaded.
The final boss music is the best. It's like a mass-up of this track, with the dissonant strings at the beginning, but there's also a part where there's high pitched female vocals singing, sort of chanting actually. Fucking epic track to an awesome battle.
In the warehouse: i killed your girlfriend(o thought the corva bianca bruxa was his gf) i'll kill you too, bitch. After learning the lore and seeing them slaughter half an army: okay, you now what, i'm scared.
*listens to the cp2077 guitar version* Me: Damn that's chill, wonders how the original sounds like *original* : Me: *starts headbanging with religious itent*
Everything leading up to this fight was perfect. The way Geralt and Regis look at each other when Detlaff is talking to Syanna like "Are we really doing this?" Then she vanishes and it's like "Yeah. We're doing this." And that moment when you think surely this fight will be no trouble. After all, Regis is here. But then Regis is taken down. And Detlaff slowly turns his body like some lumbering beast towards you, the player. He cracks his neck and grinds his claws, as if he's saying "You're trapped here wirh me now. No one is fighting this fight for you." Truly the best boss fight in all of storytelling so far.
people in 2077 play this on the street on their guitar.. do go and check it out ;) tbh loved the guitar version, it was sweet, amplified the pain in dettlaff
If you have rats, call the rat catcher. If you have drowners, get any old witcher. If your kingdom is being terrorised by vampires, call Geralt of Rivia.
Wait until the final boss. On Death March it hits so damn fucking hard. No joke, Grandmaster Ursine with 10k hps, I nearly got 1 shotted by an attack during the second phase.
Yeah, I play on Death March and Enemy Level Scaling. Getting one/two shot is really not funny but exhilarating nonetheless. Looking forward to the encounter.
Oberfuhrer-Razgriz Yeah, I died like 15 times before I learned to dodge that. And I thought quen protects you from 1 instance of damage no matter how big it is, guess not xD
I mean if he had his head band that’s pretty much how he’d wear his hair, but with his head band on. The shaved pony tail and short styles are the exotic styles. That’s basically just generic Geralt.
Every single thing they build for this universe is just perfect and gives me goosbumps. Books, game, soundtracks, tv series everything is clearly a masterpiece for me. This is like harry potter and lotr and sadly i don't think nothing like this gona release again in the future.
What a f#cking masterpiece this game is. I mean i enjoyed the expansion even more than the main game... and i love the main story so much. Toussaint is just a beautiful place to explore with beautiful architecture. And to top that the expansion gives you the best character of the game, my blood thirsty best buddy the mvp regis the motherf#cking higher vampire.
Play this boss on Deathmarch... and no Quen will stop the Bat-attack. I had: - Grandmaster Ursine Armor (extra intensity to Quen) - 160% sign intensity (with all the Blue Mutagens) - Full Moon Potion, (even more intensity) And it was still a one-shot one kill The best way to avoid it is sprint. just sprint to the side and keep your distance, and you should be fine. Another way is to use the alternative Quen Sign... but that will still deplete 95% of your health
You need a certain distance to dodge them. The reason qhy they are difficult to dodge is the animation and camera angle. They block the whole screen even while being dodged so discerning the correct distance or timing for the roll is not easy. But replaying this game lately i did not have a hard time any more. Had a adrenalin + whirlwind + signs build using medium armor. No real problem. The hardest boss was actually imlerith due to camera angles.
Kinda off topic but I do love that the creators realised Geralt was sexy & employed the female gaze quite a bit in how he's framed in ps material & certain scenes in the games. Look at that loose-flowing hair! I wouldn't kick him out of bed. I'm so used to female chrs giving fan service, it's nice for us ladies to have someone hot to look at. Also, he has personality & isn't just another dull action hero. I love him & the game is brilliant.
I had a some sort of deja vu while fighting Deattlaff for the 1st time. It felt like fighting against against vergil for the 1st time in DMC3 on Mission 20.
This game devs taught other teams how to really prefect in making a video game to last literally a lifetime, and I'm straightforward talking to the devs who made this cool best selling titles which I personally love as well : RDR2,GOW 2018,ME2 2010,MGS4,TLOU 2013, GTAV, Uncharted 4, and Skyrim! ☠
honestly I was beginning to think Dettlaff was a pretty cool (and handsome) fella! Until I realized he had not one, not two, but THREE forms. I shat myself when he transformed.
I think he had more than 3 forms: 1) Human form, 2) Mist Form, 3) Hybrid Form (like Regis: Humanoid/Vamp), 4) High Vampire Form (Winged Vamp), 5) Blood Form
Im late to the party here , but yea I did Detlaff on New game + Death March and it was basically impossible for ages, then I discovered that the bat attack actually has a limited range, and can be avoided with rolling if you're far enough away. Also recommend White Raffords potion with Toxicity traits equipped so you have a really high threshold for potions throughout the battle. It was easy after this.
So fuckin satisfying, this boss fight. Even more satisfying playing Gwent on mobile running a vampire deck, with Dettlaff as your showcase. I love his character. The only reason I killed him was to get the red armor in the caves, but even his boss fight, although tragic, was so damn cool. An excellent character nonetheless
honestly it was the only good boss fight and the only challenging one, and because it was the only one we played the game way more laidback then we should have so he cought us off guard, that is one of the things that made this boss so hard. I wish other bosses were as good as this one. Its one of the dowsides of the witcher III
You have just no idea how many times that stupid bat attack killed me. That's what happens when you wear armor just because it's "cool looking". Looking at you grandmaster wolven armor set.
Haha, a lot of people struggle with that move, and rightly so. I learnt online that you can avoid it every time by turning the camera and sprinting straight to the left or right.
I used that armor in my latest allrounder build. It is the best for that but i still prferted the viper set or starter armor. And sometimes i wear the nilfgaard dlc armor when all novigrad is asleep...
I was NOT prepared for this boss fight lmao no way! That bat swarm got me dying a bunch of times and all I could think of was " fuck ..thought I was done with dark souls"

In the warehouse: i killed your girlfriend(o thought the corva bianca bruxa was his gf) i'll kill you too, bitch. After learning the lore and seeing them slaughter half an army: okay, you now what, i'm scared.
if you acknowledge any gods start praying now
growmania nigga I just need black blood and vampiric oil and you would be at least 50% easier
Most epic gaming quote ever
"Dear Freyja.....may the boot I'm about to put in this blood sucker's ass be large"
"I didn't mean it like that, dammit!"
Gave ya 100 likez
This boss fight wasn't that bad.
So long as you have a good character build, no broken equipment, and figure out how to avoid the bats...
JTR all of my equipment had broken and I was out of repair kits so I survived by hauling ass and food
JTR I was too strong
Roll Roll Roll!
@@ryanr3357 Just to be extra safe: Quen, THEN Roll, Roll, Roll!
Broke silver sword... R.I.P.
*listens to the cp2077 guitar version*
Me: Damn that's chill, wonders how the original sounds like

Me: *starts headbanging with religious itent*
You've never played Witcher 3?
Dude, you are missing out.
TW3 is so much better than Cyberpunk...
@@cosmic2750 They are both great games, but TW3 is a masterpiece. I'm on my second playthrough and i'm looking forward to buying the expansions.
This is the first fight people, not the final. For the final one look for "Tesham Mutna".
lol best plot twist in this comment section
@@ZenithalPoint Explain to me plz
came here when I heard the electric guitar version of the soundtrack in cyberpunk.
Everything leading up to this fight was perfect. The way Geralt and Regis look at each other when Detlaff is talking to Syanna like "Are we really doing this?" Then she vanishes and it's like "Yeah. We're doing this."
And that moment when you think surely this fight will be no trouble. After all, Regis is here. But then Regis is taken down. And Detlaff slowly turns his body like some lumbering beast towards you, the player. He cracks his neck and grinds his claws, as if he's saying
"You're trapped here wirh me now. No one is fighting this fight for you." Truly the best boss fight in all of storytelling so far.
This is one of the coolest fights in the game.
Who listens to Witcher soundtrack while reading the books
bellabaci fayssal How tf can u even concentrate?
I'd recommend first game's soundtrack for reading
@@thedoc2994 Switch tracks according to the book's current mood

Witcher 3: The game whose DLCs are best games ever made
Agreed, the dlcs were SO much better than the base game.
@@jamisong.9653 If only hearts of stone had a longer story
people in 2077 play this on the street on their guitar.. do go and check it out ;)
tbh loved the guitar version, it was sweet, amplified the pain in dettlaff
I remember just sitting in the inventory screen just listening to this song on the dettlaff fight
Playing this with an OP alchemy build was an uphill battle..... for Detlaff.
If you have rats, call the rat catcher. If you have drowners, get any old witcher. If your kingdom is being terrorised by vampires, call Geralt of Rivia.
Debtlaff knows he’s in for a beating when this theme starts playing.
blood&wine title with this picture fit just perfect
I wanted just the lass! You tricked me, both of you!
Didn't plan any of it!
MegaGothmog SILENCE!!!!
Vasil Yordanov dumbass😂
He says while his minions butcher Beauclair
Yeah! Thanks for uploading this!
This bossfight sent chills down my spine. It was easy but still epic.
I got one-shotted from full hp through Quen with that attack, which is so damn hard to roll through.
Hahah, oh God. So it's really that bad. xD
Oberfuhrer-Razgriz Yeah, I died like 15 times before I learned to dodge that. And I thought quen protects you from 1 instance of damage no matter how big it is, guess not xD
Thanks to cyberpunk, I hear this all the time now lol.
I always make Geralt's hair like this in the DLC-like he's on holiday.
And color my manticore armor blue to fit the wallpaper
@@ImRan-bv4yu really wish there was a way to get that shirt
When the final boss of a DLC feels more like a final boss then the final boss of the main game.
The cello's always there.
It has always been there
I bought the game of the year edition of this game,HAVE NO REGRETS AT ALL ,HANDS DOWN ,THE BEST GAME OF THIS GENERATION
Geralt is such a fucking badass. Thinking about everything he’s done over the years, it’s no wonder he’s the strongest and most skilled Witcher.
The Hunter I am
1:47 heard that motif somewhere in CP2077, probably menu screen music
It's played by several guitarists around the city as well as Johnny Silverhand at one point
Play this boss on Deathmarch... and no Quen will stop the Bat-attack.
I had:
- Grandmaster Ursine Armor (extra intensity to Quen)
- 160% sign intensity (with all the Blue Mutagens)
- Full Moon Potion, (even more intensity)
And it was still a one-shot one kill
The best way to avoid it is sprint. just sprint to the side and keep your distance, and you should be fine.
Another way is to use the alternative Quen Sign... but that will still deplete 95% of your health
What about Aard? Or rolling?
constant rolling eaither rght or left while he charges up for the bat attack worked fine for me every time. i used light armour.
Who's here after hearing the tune in 2077? Glad the Witcher share the same universe with Cyberpunk
no ciri cyberpunk speech made for marketıng purpose to introduce cyberpunk universe to witcher player
"SHE WILL PAY FOR THIS, SOONER OR LATER SHE WILL PAY"
Great track! Thanks for the upload! 👍
And I myself would hook up with Eskel anytime. You can keep Geralt, sister 😁
When you realise that Johnny Silverhand once played The Witcher 3
YOU NEVER SHOULD HAVE MEDDLED WITCHER
Even in easy modes this was challenging because his bats would take 50% of my health.
this soundtrack makes me want to play witcher 3 3rd time
i beat the game twice and once with new game plus but this time ima play on death march D: hopefully it goes as planned :D
@Szala Kaka isn't there gonna be a new witcher game?
@Szala Kaka ahh rip
Deattlaff: if you acknowledge any gods start praying now
Me a celt: Cú Chúlain grant me your rage and strength
That moment when Regis goes down and the look on Geralts face shows the doubt that he has in his chances against Dettlaff alone.
Best line I ever heard...
"If you acknowledge any gods... Start praying now!"
I had a some sort of deja vu while fighting Deattlaff for the 1st time.
It felt like fighting against against vergil for the 1st time in DMC3 on Mission 20.
Me realising it's been almost 5 years since release. OMG
everybody funky fresh until you can hear the cyberpunk main menu music
This game devs taught other teams how to really prefect in making a video game to last literally a lifetime, and I'm straightforward talking to the devs who made this cool best selling titles which I personally love as well : RDR2,GOW 2018,ME2 2010,MGS4,TLOU 2013, GTAV, Uncharted 4, and Skyrim! ☠

@@ambrechristos8295 You mean "No" in english or „No" in polish? In polish „No" means something like "yeah."
honestly I was beginning to think Dettlaff was a pretty cool (and handsome) fella!
Active Quen worked for me.
When Regis goes beast mode, and you f’kin charge in.
Blood and Wine was fantastic
the way he swooped down in superspeed and cut literally anything in his path...
*if you acknowledge any gods, START PRAYING NOW!*
Such an awesome track! Can't wait to play the enhanced version
The music from 0:22 to 0:40 is straight ripped from "Interview with the Vampire", and it's wonderful.
Yeah, I actually prefer the one in tiwtv though
So fuckin satisfying, this boss fight. Even more satisfying playing Gwent on mobile running a vampire deck, with Dettlaff as your showcase. I love his character. The only reason I killed him was to get the red armor in the caves, but even his boss fight, although tragic, was so damn cool. An excellent character nonetheless
The moment a round of gwent saved many lives
"Auuuuurrrggghhh,If you acknowledge any gods...start praying now!"
Nice remix of that Cyberpunk song,
honestly it was the only good boss fight and the only challenging one, and because it was the only one we played the game way more laidback then we should have so he cought us off guard, that is one of the things that made this boss so hard. I wish other bosses were as good as this one. Its one of the dowsides of the witcher III
I always hear this music when I go frog hunting in the bayou
This fight gave me Castlevania vibe.
Multistages boss with its form continue to grow hideous.
i knew it. there had to be a reason why i got anxious whenever an npc started playing this on cyberpunk.
Heard this piece in Cyberpunk lol
“Prepare to defend yourself” - Geralt
You have just no idea how many times that stupid bat attack killed me. That's what happens when you wear armor just because it's "cool looking". Looking at you grandmaster wolven armor set.
Haha, a lot of people struggle with that move, and rightly so. I learnt online that you can avoid it every time by turning the camera and sprinting straight to the left or right.
I used bear armor XD
If you run the correct skills, mutation and potions you can tank his bat attack without armor.
I used that armor in my latest allrounder build. It is the best for that but i still prferted the viper set or starter armor.
And sometimes i wear the nilfgaard dlc armor when all novigrad is asleep...
this was the first boss that killed me a couple of times in this game. Loved it
I was NOT prepared for this boss fight lmao no way!
That bat swarm got me dying a bunch of times and all I could think of was " fuck ..thought I was done with dark souls"
