I just realized there are 3 violins in this arrangement, one for each sister. The main one is Whispess, there's one playing in a slightly lower pitch underneath that: Brewess, and every once in a while there's a high pitched one, Weavess hiding behind them like the scuttling vermin she is.
+Traitors will Hang as a Ukrainian, I can say that there are a lot of similarities, for examples runes in game have name of different gods in pagan slavic mythology and I recognised almost all of them, and overall creatures are quite familiar
I am slavic (polish precisely). My mother used to tell me and read to me all these old scary slavic tales when I was a kid. When I first heard this song while playing witcher I immediately went back in time and remembered all the stories and felt a little shiver. This music fits the "Ladies of the woods" story perfectly. And witcher perfectly depicts slavic mythology just how I imagined it as a kid (or even scarier sometimes). Truly a work of art, masterpiece, game of the century.
I am also slavic (czech) and when I was very little, my grand-grand-mother told me all kinds of stories. Like never go to the fields at noon, as there are spirits hunting lonely children or don't follow the voices in the forests, even tho they sound familiar to you.

When i finished this quest, i was kind of terrified, because i remembered, that my grandfather once told me a story about a entity called Kornmuhme (Grain Crone), which is said to be living in the fields. It appears as fog or wind or as old ugly lady. She is said to have a taste for children picking Cornflowers. And she cuts of the ears of her victims, a bit like the crones in the witcher. They might just be some of the most frightening fictional characters I’ve ever had the dis/pleasure of meeting.
This song is so unique in the soundtrack. It speaks on aeons past, of power and knowledge older than any other we come across in this series. It tells a story of elder pacts bound in blood and briar, of a forest that stood before this land rose from the sea and will be here where the land returns to it.

I’ll never forget how the scene made me feel with this music playing in the background as the crones were talking to me. I was drawn in and immersed into the world of the witcher that it was almost overwhelming.
The fact that the last Lady of the woods you go after in the bad ending epilogue is terribly weak and easy to beat is truly symbolic and i thought this was really scary, seeing Geralt so sad he's going on a cold blood revenge and once he killed her, has nothing more left to do in this world was HARD
When i hear our folklore instrument Gadulka with combination to these voices i think immediately of baba Yagga , this is the dark side of the Slavic folklore. Everything the game captured the tv series failed to deliver.
The books failed as well. First of all, the series is telling the story of the books and at the moment the chapters aren't dark neither in the book or the series. Second of all, It is way easier to bring the darkside into a game than into a TV Series.
The first mission with the crones was probably one of the best in the whole game. The atmosphere was set perfectly, the music is amazing and suiting, their design is creative... Flawless, in my opinion
The Ladies. What an amazing, intimidating trio of villains that steal the show in every scene they appear in with their creepy presence and add so much to the lore of the game. I sure am glad they didn't get killed off-screen with no effort or any dumb shit like that.
Feel sad that their boss fight wasn't something special at all. Just foglet and grave/water hags. I anticipated them use cunning and magic, illusions and environment (living roots of corrupted holy oak soaked in human blood) against you. If anything they weren't supposed to be generic melee fighting monsters. Still best videogame i ever played. ;)
Павел Панаев do u have amnesia because that fight wasn’t “special” per say but it wasn’t generic, u fight the 3 witches and one of them survives barely
This. The game already had my interest before, but after seeing the tapestry scene it just elevated the game into something more. I grew up in a place that still is superstitious and let me tell you I got a cold chill the entire time listening to the Crones patronize Geralt.
I swear the witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time, and i doubt any other could replace it, not that i'm bringing down other games, I just love the witcher 3, i mean simply the fact that every seemingly unimportant sidequest has voice overs is amazing to me, then there are all the different characters, some you relate to, some you may hate, for some you may cry, and also the story, it's just a game that will always stay in your heart.
I played this song while spending the night in the woods. Oh man, I haven't sleep for a damn second and prayed for the dawn to come.. Since then I never feel the same in the woods. You ruined my peacefull time in the wilderness. So, now it's your turn, my friend.. and no light allowed. ;-)
The Ladies of the Wood are probably one of the things that scared me most in the game but also I can’t help but be fascinated by them. Their role as characters in the story and their dealings with local towns offscreen their vibe is unsettling and intriguing, not to mention their character designs are all so distinct and unique.
How can this game still have the best open world, the best story, the best characters, the best dialogues, the best quests AND the best music of all video games?
Absolute banger of a track, will never forget completely missing out the trail of treats, and accidentally stumbling on the orphans in the swamp, and hearing this play.
The music, atmosphere and story at this part of the game was unbelievably good. Unfortunately I have not seen anything in Cyberpunk 2077 that has matched this yet, I also don't really expect to though to be honest. This was as close to interactive story telling perfection. And with the multiple ways the crones and baron's story can end this stayed tense even through multiple playthroughs. I kind of want to buy everyone involved with creating this a round of beers for entertaining so well that even years later I am commenting on how good this on random youtube videos
This theme is already eerie without context and gives me a feeling of uneasiness. But when confronted with the crones it just amps up ten times, especially when you meet them first time. You don't know who they are, they seem ancient and powerful and their design is creepy, you feel powerless and uneasy in their presence, all you think about is to not fuck up or you're done for.
I am amazed by this game and how damn well it is made! On my entire first playthrough, I felt constantly uncomfortable while in the Crookback bog, like a jumpscare would appear out of randomness, eventhough I know this isnt a horror-game. I think these three are utterly disgusting, and so damn good characters!
My mother (who really likes The Witcher, too) just commented *this* is how she feels when she visits & enters my room. I keep 24 tarantulas in here 😂 I can't stop laughing at that comment.
"The weird sisters, hand in hand, Posters of the sea and land, Thus do go about, about: Thrice to thine and thrice to mine And thrice again, to make up nine. Peace! the charm's wound up." (Witches sisters from "Macbeth" of Shakespeare W.)
I love the references in both the books (and show adaptation of the books) and the games to classic folklore and fairy tales, it makes you wonder more about what's possible and what exists in the witcher universe, especially the fairy tales that everybody knows because of Disney, like how Renfri is actually an alternate version of Snow White
You see they crows and think "nothing has anything on this" Then see higher vampires (blood and wine) and realise that they are not only more powerful and creepy but they are the true masters of the world of witcher.
I still found the Crones infinitely more ominous because they weren't beings that could be rationalized away, were they once women? What pact did they make with what forces to become that way? What made them so singularly different? What metaphysical realm beyond the span of the sciences as they were understood in the game did they tap into? What was or is their motives? The Vampires are on cruise control, they exist to exist, the Crones have some agenda, some drive, and not knowing what it is or understanding why is the scariest thing about them to me.

The occult symbolism is huge with the ladies of the woods. Amazing work.
Love old Slavic folklore. It's so dark.
You've no idea....
@@olgierdvoneverec7715 just played against baba yaga in tomb raider D:
Name of this ?
One of the greatest games as a whole. But the swamps/Baron part of the game was without doubt the coolest.
Here this at your campfire at night if you Camp alone in the woods.
I played this song while spending the night in the woods. Oh man, I haven't sleep for a damn second and prayed for the dawn to come.. Since then I never feel the same in the woods. You ruined my peacefull time in the wilderness. So, now it's your turn, my friend.. and no light allowed. ;-)
I slept like a baby! The civilized world is a lot more horrible then the ladies.
let's do that naked with our friends and dancing and singing around a fire in the woods lmao, lets summon the ladies (╯°□°)╯
shit brickss lololol
that wye we don,t camp in bog iles your geralt of rivia
They will come, don't be stupid...
Indeed and rdr2 as well
This song perfectly fits the mood of the Crookback Bog, and the vibe that these witches are giving out.
Man, these ladies really felt like a menace. All this section of the game was terrifying
Polymorphy ? Im impressed
Jacob Gill Do YoU dEsIrE US?!?!?
crepiest game soundtrack yet also one of the most beatiful one
Absolute banger of a track, will never forget completely missing out the trail of treats, and accidentally stumbling on the orphans in the swamp, and hearing this play.
The music in this game is actually amazing and this on one of my favourites!
I'm going to have this set as the missus' ringtone.
"a bit different from the carpet illustration, aren't you"
The first conversation with the witches is absolutely one of the best moments in The Witcher 3
This music is my favorite from the favorite quest of my favorite game.
Nothing will ever freak me out more than the crone with the basket over her face, that deep booming muffled voice sent shivers down my back😖
Best sidequest ever made... EVER
Najlepszy Soundtrack, Najlepszej Gry.
Potwierdzam. Ta gra to coś tak Epickiego, że jednym słowem się nie da po prostu tego wyrazić. Warto było sobie ogarnąć na Steamie wersję GOTY.
Best song which I ever heard. Good job CD project
Thank you to the authors very much! I listened to this music for 2 years on the way to my University
When your blind date arrives
😂😂😂
God how I wished there was a LOT more interactions with them. Like, we need a Witcher game fully dedicated just to them.
We wish. A DLC: "Stories of the Bog", coming out 31st oct.
My mother (who really likes The Witcher, too) just commented *this* is how she feels when she visits & enters my room.
I keep 24 tarantulas in here 😂 I can't stop laughing at that comment.
"The weird sisters, hand in hand,
Posters of the sea and land,
Thus do go about, about:
Thrice to thine and thrice to mine
And thrice again, to make up nine.
Peace! the charm's wound up."
(Witches sisters from "Macbeth" of Shakespeare W.)
Voices of the ladies tells you it will be bad as soon as you hear them, with this mad song behind... masterpiece indeed.
Was looking/waiting for this particular one. Also heartbeat of wooden heart from the whispering hillock.
Me: **plays third game with absolutely no knowledge of the lore, hears this totally innocent and not at all evil song**
"That was blunt."
One of the best quests in the game
"if she's shapely, what does it matter?"
The Good Ladies of the woods are more terrifying than the Wild Hunt and O'Dimm... IMHO...
I basically agree everything you said, only lacked the way to put articulate it. Congratulations on making me feel like I don't know how words work...
Gaunter is more powerful yeah but he just wants souls and to torture
To this day, Gaunter O'Dimm is still one of the most fascinating and mysterious characters I have seen tbh. Just like the ladies...
and is more powerful then anything else in the witcher universe
Gives me chills every time
My morning alarm, always works
This song is called Eiffor, played by Percival. Some of the songs of Percival were taken to W3 and rearranged.
The song name is wrong; I looked it up & the song name is Saga.
Ladies of the school.... This music help me to low panic level when im wait to test
So creepy
+Slugfacess NeonGames77 ? this is fucking awesome
+RapperOrdinario Yeah of course
+Slugfacess NeonGames77 i know:D
+Slugfacess That soundtrack is just insanely good!
Eskel, Chop Chop
thats honestly my favorite line in the game.
Summon the bitches !
My body was so confused when they transformed into humans later on
The best fantasy rpg i ve ever played
This part of the game is hands down the best for me, the design around finding and approaching the sisters was so amazingly creepy and interesting.
Blessed the Wood's; blessed the Earth; blessed the Water!!! All hail, for the Ladies of the Woods!!!
I could never imagine Gadulka to sound so treacherous. Everything this is this game was masterpiece
