So four years ago I suffered a brain injury and have short term memory loss and some long term memory loss, well today this songs lyrics just popped in my mind and I finally remembered what the band was called. This song got me through some tuff times.
I think I give off a "cool" vibe. like as in i just seem unphased. but I'm really emotions on overload. I forget how I seem to be contagious towards the "tough, prickish, intimidating" types. I must b really contagious. I get upset, then guys get upset w,/me. & I'm like man, the f r u upset for? uh I won't look at him in the eyes then! I'll look at something else then & hold my composure for a lil bit.. uh we can be bad ass's together then & sh. gah! ivesfahnah pretend like this didn't happen.😟

I remember when this song came out. Back when they still played good music on the radio. The dj had to say "everyone that keeps calling In for us to play the new tool song...this is NOT tool..."
I remember when the single first came out and me and my best friend argued over whether it was Maynard James Keenan or not perfect I'm glad I found the song again
yeah man like with Helmet Unsung and everyone was tellin me it was Ozzy, but i was like but I know it to be Helmet so I was bullied into thinking otherwise..but finally youtube made them see the light in like 06
I had the beginning lyrics to this song on my head for years, always thinking it was maybe a Chevelle or tool song, now today, Friday 4, 2019 I finally found the song. What a great way to start the year.
Well-said. I was one of those "they're like Tool" people. And I think that really comes from the slight similarity in vocal tones. I think Maynard has more range than many of the frontmen in history but I think that's what got people at first was the similar voices.
Just thought of these lyrics a few minutes ago and I had not heard this song since they used to play it on 101.1 WJRR in Orlando in 2002. All these years later on I finally found this and I did not realize how much this reminds me of Tool. My 14 year old self did not catch that. This song is so awesome and they should play it again on the radio!!!!!!
@@teebone5072 Really? That is honestly surprising. It was not too well known of a hit at the time it came out. I only heard on that one station. Good to know someone still spins it from time to time.
@@austingrace1 yeah I bought this CD when it first came out just for that song lol I was surprised to hear it on Sirius XM turbo . I wanted to hear it again which led me to this video and the comments
I remember seeing this in rotation on the display TVs at the Target store I worked at in 2002. Yes, Target actually used to play music video clips on the demo TVs in the electronics department. And yes, my back now hurts.
I remember back when this band started being played on the radio, and thinking that they'd been listening to way too much Tool. Lol. And that's not a putdown, or a dig at the band, either, because the song, and the album, too, were/still are excellent. Regardless, they're an excellent band, and to even sound anything like Tool, whether they were trying to do so, or not, and if anyone else happens to agree with me, please let me know, but either way, that's a major thumbs up and a serious compliment, not a negative accusation.
It's just you guys' WANTING it to sound the way YOU WANT it to sound. In your tiny little minds, you believe you hear the echoes of another band. {What was their name again?} Earshot, however, you dear, TONE DEAF people, is just as unique and AMAZING as any other band to ever write a song. Comparisons are for PRODUCTS! Not artistic expressions. Quit listening and watching for similarities, and you'll enjoy the music on a much deeper level. Trust me. Open your tiny little mind.
Some how today was the first time I've heard this song and thought its either a collaboration or puscifier. I was shocked to find out neither were the case. The similarities to Maynards vocals is uncanny and its actually an awesome song.
Bought tickets to see them live at Halftime Sports Bar & Music venue in Newark, DE & they cancelled last minute due to illness. Hope they come back around.
I remember when I heard this on KUPD in Phoenix in the early 2000 I thought for sure it was a new TOOL track. He is so heavily influenced by Maynard and it shows in his voice and lyrics. Was really hoping they would go places.
Every musician on the face of this earth is influenced by some other musician at some point in their journey, doesn't mean they deserve to be treated any different. I a huge Tool fan and A Perfect Circle fan and I welcome more music like this cause most of the music today sux.
It is funny how a lot of Tool fans complain 'I wish their was more music that sound like tool', then complain when their is some. But anyway, if you listen to their other music Earshot are a completely different style and deserve more respect than a comparison.
There was this amazing Nintendo game cube wrestling game that you could create your own character and this song was in it. And I freaking love it and miss that playing that game
Just the vocal, huh? Few musicians match Tool's skills, however your comment is misinforming. The entire song copies Tool songs sections and riffs, I can pinpoint Pushit as an obvious influence in this song towards the end. Anyway, I don't get the point of being a separate band and not even trying to have a style of your own. This is so, so darn lame!
Agree 100%. Not to mention Mayner James has such an impressive voice with Tool & A Perfect Circle. The instrumentals can not compare, like you said. Danny Carey of Tool is the greatest drummer alive.
I remember we used to laugh our asses off every time this would come on the radio because he was trying so hard to pronounce his words like Maynard James Keenan. He could have just figured his own thing out because he obviously can hold a note.
His voice is similar to Maynard, but is also similar to Pete Loeffler from Chevelle. I think it's an extreme compliment to be likened to such successful artists. But regardless these guys are very talented and to date I have no idea why they aren't as big as they should be.
Yeah I remember when this hit radiowaves, everyone around was saying did you hear the new Tool song and we got into an argument because they didn't believe it wasn't Tool, i should've bet money on that shit, i regret it now lol
yeah my mom raised me on tool and I actually asked her what tool song this was lol she quickly said its not tool lol sounds almost like hoobastank nu metal lol
Great band! I love their 1st album. I hear the tool comparison but that is mainly the vocal parts. They are more straight ahead heavy rock, less progressive than tool. They are great at layering their sound to make their sound interesting!
I remember when i first heard this song, I thought A Perfect Circle had come out with a new single because the guy sounded similar to MJK, but then upon further listening, you can pick out the differences

If youre listening to Earshot in 2024 youre probably old enough to remember when MTV still played music videos 🔥
i was born after this songs release dummi
Yes sir!
30 seconds to mars fallen with maynard reminded me of this song. Great song!
Sure am all the atvs games mx vs atv are masterpieces
Literally the good ole days. 😆
His vocal delivery is what draws the comparisons to tool. It's the way he forms his words.
Some of the riffs and song structure also
@@marcus_ohreallyus straight ripoff which is why they went nowhere - facts
I wonder if they were a tool cover band at one point..
Back when i was growing up this band was the biggest rip off of tool. And made fun of for that.
This band is much more like APC than Tool.
So four years ago I suffered a brain injury and have short term memory loss and some long term memory loss, well today this songs lyrics just popped in my mind and I finally remembered what the band was called. This song got me through some tuff times.
Being a huge tool/APC fan, I left the room while this was on and I could've sworn I was listening to APC.
I'm a Huge Tool fan and I love this song, doesn't matter why? it's how it makes you feel, and what you think about when you hear it. It's Art
Big tool fan here too
First time I heard this I thought it was a Fear Inoculum cover. Now Fear Inoculum is the cover.@@post-leftluddite

Such a beautiful song ! The Maynard voice doesn't bother me at all, all I hear is just beauty. Thank you guys, this is ear-drug

If there was no TOOL these guys woulda been huge!
yep, Maynard has a powerful voice and so does this guy, the similarity's between the two is why I looked them up.
Se Ollé igualito a maynard 😮
his voice sound like a perfect circle
Ricardo Morgado and chevelle
Wow, Tool RIP off.
Thought the same thing. Especially apc's "the outsider"
U guys do realize Maynard sings for tool and APC... but this cat does sound like him🤘🤘

The chorus for this amazing song just crushes you. The Tool influence is phenominal!
Is it me or Will Martin sounds like A Perfect Circle's Lead Singer Maynard James Keenan?

Who cares as to whom they sound like as long as they sound good and they rock. Bands like this is what keeps rock alive.

Friday 4, 2019...Well, that narrows it down.
Lmao I just noticed that fuck lol
What makes this song so good is that is simple and catchy. Proving once again you don't need complicated rhythms to make a great song
first time i heard this on the radio i thought it was tool, which is a good thing. we need more bands with this sound
When you realize it takes two different singers working together to do what Maynard does by himself. :D
The chorus ...he sounds so much like Maynard...damn
Wayyyyy under-rated band. They should have been way bigger.
Oh my fucking god you guys are right. Always heard this on the radio and I just passed this on as a tool song. Holy fuck I feel guilty, jesus.
Damn I’ve listened to Earshot for along time and never thought about them sounding like Tool but the vocalists voice definitely does.
I thought it more Perfect Circle. Same thing basically. Awesome song.
I used to think this was A Perfect Circle
Maynard’s most underrated side project.
Well-said. I was one of those "they're like Tool" people. And I think that really comes from the slight similarity in vocal tones. I think Maynard has more range than many of the frontmen in history but I think that's what got people at first was the similar voices.
Best non-a perfect circle a perfect circle sounding song ever.
Only 30,000 views for a song like this. Shows the power of advertisment, or lack their of.
I remember hearing Tool play this live in concert!
Something isn’t right here, this should have at least 2 million views!!! And “Wait” should honestly have at least 10 million.
For years, I had thought this was A Perfect Circle
One of the best. Kind remarks and I'm real soft spoken. Thanks for noticing!
