Helpful comments here, not least that the best exercise is the one that you do regularly, however strenuous or otherwise ! From my perspective , the physiotherapists, surgeon, g.p. , all those health professionals involved in your care absolutely do not cover the practicalities very well about pre operative care or getting into the right frame of mind pre op. What I took away from speaking to health professionals was mostly about the risks involved in knee replacement surgery and very little about the vast majority of patients whose mobility and lifestyle are greatly improved by having surgery. Thankyou to joint school for your many excellent videos on all aspects of joint problems . I'm trying very hard to do exercises little and often in preparation for knee replacement ( whenever that may be !)

Thank you, that was really helpful, especially about the added protein in a diet. Maybe it would be helpful to list practical suggestions for protein amounts per day eg a boiled egg for breakfast, cheese on toast with a smoothie for lunch and normal protein amount for supper , then a milk drink before bedtime. I’m definitely going to do this before my surgery after watching this film.

Scrambled tofu is a quick easy protein rich meal (and we can get some vegetables in too)
