    I remember the feuds with Austin before he left for SHR.. that basically sealed the deal... when him and Clint Bowyer we're at RCR that was the best

    2 drivers that made RCR contend for championships-Dale Earnhardt and Kevin Harvick

    When EARNHARDT passed away and they picked KEVIN I wondered why but then I found out that KEVIN was picked to drive EARNHARDT'S busch car and that is why I picked KEVIN AS MY FAVORITE DRIVER after EARNHARDT PASSED. If HARVICK IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR DALE EARNHARDT HE GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME. He has turned out to be ONE HELL OF A DRIVER. And as for him leaving RCR CHILDRESS was putting all his time and money in his grandsons, I probably would've done the same but neglecting his other drivers wasn't right so I don't care if HARVICK drives a VW I will still pull for him

      ARE YOU FEELING LUCKY PUNK yes had already found that out because I wanted to find out who Harvick was, I hadn't heard of him until CHILDRESS picked him to drive my drivers car and I wanted to know about him, like how this guy rated, was he good enough and that is when I found out that he was supposed to drive for EARNHARDT, so if he was good enough for DALE he was good enough for me. A lot of my buddy's that also pulled for EARNHARDT were upset because I didn't go no JR but even though I liked JR he wasn't the caliber driver like his dad was,but I have stuck to Harvick and my buddy's don't ride me and I think CHILDRESS is sorry he let him go but if my grandchildren were coming into their own I probably would have done the same but I am glad I stayed with Harvick

    Happy Harvick was the one who held the torch for RCR during the past decade. It's a shame that RCR lost its edge when he moved to Stewart-Haas. Here's hoping that Tyler Reddick can fill that void and bring RCR back to its winning form.
    Three years later:
    Well, congratulations, RCR, for losing Reddick in 2024.

    Learned a lot. Interesting that kevin tested so much for Dale. Probably one reason Earnhardt had such a good season in 2000. Also, Rick Mast taking Dale's spot? I wonder why they were considering rick mast. Someone that had never won a race in cup?

    • @jesuschristislord6790
      @jesuschristislord6790 2 роки тому

      I finally realized that Kevin Hamlin's first crew chief job in cup was Rick Mast. So I'd say that's why Rick would have gotten the spot, through suggestion from Kevin

    Harvick kept RCR relevant for years. Hate it didn't work out, but RCR just hasn't been a top team since the mid 90s tbh. Harvick needed to move on to better equipment. Would be neat to see Kevin retire at RCR though

    Been a Harvick fan since 2001. When he retires from racing... i might retire from watching... unless it's Daytona at night. lol

    I doubt Kevin will ever go back, especially with the Dillon brats driving for RCR. They have a "silver spoon" in their mouths according to Harvick. He is professional grade and can drive for any manufacturers. I'm not even a Ford fan, but he has me convinced with how he has been in the top tier...even after changing manufacturers/equipment! I wonder what he would do in a Toyota for Gibbs....

      Hes carried rcr on his back and now he's carrying shr😭😭😭 he's taking cars and teams that can't finish top 25 and getting top 5s with them. If he's running 7th, his next teammate might be 27th😬😬😬

    I wonder how much of Dale's 2000 success lies in the fact he had Harvick testing the cars.

    Judging by this interview, it seems like Richard was (or rather is) a pain in the butt to work for. Kevin clearly didn't like driving for him over that timespan. He made the right decision going to SHR.

    • @slimbrady6691
      @slimbrady6691 5 років тому +6

      For sure, going to SHR was the best decision he ever made. It's clear now that RCR had been holding him back all these years. Since going to SHR, there hasn't been a more dominant driver. I saw online somewhere where a guy had figured up who'd be the champion each season if they ran under the old points system before the chase, and Harvick would have won like 3 championships already at SHR.

      Let me tell BOTH of you couch potato dorks something: The 2 of you both together couldn't qualify to be a zit on Richard Childress's ass. Furthermore, YOU TWO are obviously the only 2 idiots left who don't know what a pain in the ass Kevin Harvick HIMSELF was. You two need to go your asses right now and see the video here on this ch: "Clint Bowyer - The Inside Story" and just MAYBE you'll get a freakin' clue about what a profound impact RCR has been for not only the history of NASCAR, but what the man has done for lives & careers of every driver he hired. By the way, you show us ONLY ONE other owner who came out of nothing, and is still right in the thick of this sport FIFTY YEARS LATER, who has accomplished as much in the past 25. Yeah..........good luck with that, ya freakin' twerps.

      I agree with you, to a point. Richard was & is the Boss & I'm sure he let everyone know it. As for building an empire, you need to study Roger Penske.
