His net worth is estimated at $1 billion, which is by far more than all the other owners, with the exception of Michael Jordan, who joined the sport in 2020. He's a pauper compared to John Menard. Menard isn't a team owner, though he has been one in IndyCar, and he bankrolled his son's NASCAR career through car sponsorship. It was interesting at the time that the richest race car driver in the world wasn't some Formula One driver but was NASCAR's Paul Menard.

I went to google it just to be sure (and I’m sure net worth numbers on good aren’t totally right) but Penske beats Jordan by 1.1 billion net worth

It was Honda and yes he bribed a sitting President for his Pardon..
Kind of went to prison but "got sick" so went with house arrest. It had to do with allocation of getting new Honda cars. his dealerships got cars by paying Honda executives to get cars that were ordered by other dealers.
He was sentenced to prison but his doctor said he had leukemia and couldn't survive in prison, so he was sentenced to home confinement. When his sentence was complete his doctor declared him healed and free of leukemia. He soon after gave President Bill Clinton a pile of money and got a pardon.
