Missing Rings: Kevin Harvick 2015

- Опубліковано 27 сер 2024
- Kevin Harvick has become one of NASCAR’s elite drivers since joining forces with Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014. He immediately had immense success with 5 wins and a championship in his first go with the 4 team. In 2015 he looked to do it again and had a strong case to get it done. But, in the end, could not do it. This is the story of Kevin Harvick’s 2015 season. This is his missing ring.

Harvick 2020
Harvick's real downfall was Kyle being let into the playoffs after missing half the season
This is what I hated about the Brian France era of NASCAR. NASCAR was very contradicting on its rules. It was established in 2014 that all Chase Grid drivers had to start every race to be eligible for the Chase. Then they changed that to every driver had to attempt to start every race when Denny Hamlin had to sit out a race with flu-like symptoms. Then they straight up started giving out waivers like it was free candy. Look, we might not like a lot of the changes between 2004 and 2018, but my point is that if you're going to make a change, follow through with it. Brian France was truly a failure.
I’ve been a Harvick fan since ‘05, but I give Kyle total credit for earning the title. If a dude who broke his leg can drive well enough to advance through the playoffs a few months later, give it to the man. No problems with Kyle getting a waiver. No one probably thought he’d do that well a few months removed from having a bone sticking out of his leg.
@@danielwest9955 As I said, though, I am not mad at Kyle Busch for winning the title that year. That's his job. What I keep emphasizing as to why I got upset is with NASCAR. As impressive as Kyle's drive was in 2015, it should not have been for the championship. Not under the circumstances that it fell under.
I'm a Harvick fan, I have to give NASCAR props for making the decision. Busch didn't even miss a third of the season. He only missed 11 races which is still a good amount. Busch missed 11 races because of an injury that NASCAR was fully responsible for and that was failure to keep the drivers safe and not putting up safer barriers. By rule all Kyle needed to do was remain 30th or better in points with a win, and that's what he did. Going from there, Kyle did what did Kyle was best.
Orange Striker Gaming what’s the problem with that? Kyle Busch earned himself a playoff spot by winning
Missing penalties: Harvick at Talladega 2015
Miscalled Penalties: Regan Smith at dega
Missing penalties: Gordon at Phoenix 2012
Miscalled [Non-]Penalties: Dale Jr. at Talladega 2003
Missing penalties: Austin dillon Talladega 2011
@@DennyDeliversYT also Jimmie Johnson at Dover spring 2013
Im still pissed about that one... If he wasnt there on that final restart and wrecked the field, Dale Jr mightve actually made it to the final four for once. Probably still wouldnt have won it, but you never know... You'd be surprised how much a difference just still being in the fight can change how you play it.
The true 2015 champion
I remember that stretch he had. Including the three final races of 2014, he had 13 top-2 (!!!!) finishes in 17 races.
Can’t wait for Missing Rings 2020.
Missing Rings: Mark Martin 1998
Any other season he would have won but Gordon just killed it in 98
Nah more like Missing Rings: Mark Martin 1990
Harvick was very unlucky to get only 3 wins that season. Realistically, he should've had like 6-7.
Dominated Michigan before he cut a tire, just 19 laps to go before the race ended due to rain. Led most laps at Watkins Glen before running out of gas on the last lap. Dominated Loudon before running out of gas with 3 to go. Dominated Phoenix before caution came out during cycle of green-flag stops, and before he could get back to the front, rain ended the race.
This is so painful to watch. Man, he was soooooo close to back to back
What he did at Talladega was so BS that I think it's kinda karma that he lost the title to someone who didn't compete 1/3 of the season
He was a piece of work that race. I know it's survival, but any sign of loss of power at 'Dega should be a lap warning; the next lap would be a black flag if he doesn't park it.
Also, Logano won that race fair and square. Unpopular opinion, I know.
Wasnt Harvick's fault that Nascar changed the GWC to one attempt, though.
@@lorddrac_dontaskmetodance Agreed. NASCAR tried so hard to rig the race for Junior. This is what Dale Jr fans don't realize: if Junior won, NASCAR would have gotten away with cheating. I'm fine with Logano winning, that race was so BS
Grindcore Rager 67
Logano did win fairly I just hate that whiny punk
Oh good... it isn’t Denny Hamlin 2019....
Yet
......oh 😐
As if he had a chance to win it
@@BooleyOoley He's washed up anyways. If we were using a low downforce package at all tracks which required way more driver skills, Hamlin wouldn't even be in the discussion lmao
He honestly should have been eliminated at Talladega he deliberately wrecked the field just so he could advance and NASCAR doesn't even do anything about it they just let it off and they ruin a race that could have actually been good also some suggestions:

Missing Rings: Denny Hamlin 2019

R Tour R TTV when? in 3 out of the 36 races?
Hetterman10 R no actually being consistent and not being a little bitch dumbass and actually accepting defeat when he lost
Hetterman10 R as well as admitting his mistakes
NASCAR dug their own grave with this bullshit playoff format. If we still had a proper points race that Talladega incident wouldn't have happened
Missing rings
Dale Sr 2000
Kurt Busch 2009
0:17 Stewart in last, Harvick in 1st.
Missing Rings: Ryan Newman 2014
Fuck that shit.
I will never really get over the fact that he finished 2nd 13 times. He was the 1998 Jeff Gordon of 2nd place.
Man, the 2015 Playoffs were a complete mess. At least the playoffs haven't been too bad since
Ah yes, the return of @RC RACER 88 with his clout-chasing, crybaby “You’re opinion is different so you’re wrong and stupid” keyboard warrior attitude. And no, Andrew’s not wrong.
@RC RACER 88 all you’re doing is continuing to yap out of your shit-filled mouth and proving me right. You’re so entertaining when you have a childish tantrum lol.
2015 in general was an awful year for NASCAR. Fuck 2015.

More what ifs for this video: What if Kyle Busch was never granted a waiver for the Chase? What if the Chase wasn't used as the standard format? What if Harvick was able to get back around Kyle Busch at Homestead?
So far, there's been 3 Missing Rings videos for 2015 alone. There's also a leg to stand on for Missing Rings for 2015 for Brad Keselowski, Jeff Gordon, and maybe even Matt Kenseth.
With full season version, he would of been a champion of 2015 season.
As a harvick fan the playoffs have always been so painful. Without them Harvick would probably have won 2015, 2016 (maybe), 2018 (would be very close between busch and harvick), and easily 2020. He wouldn’t have won 2014 but i would gladly trade that for the others.
Missing Brains: Brian France
Created a broken system that doesn’t reward you for being the best all year and EARNING the title. That said, Kevin Harvick should be a 3 time champion. Based actually being the true best all year.
He should've had 2 at least before that chase started
Missing Suspensions: Kevin Harvick 2015
Harvick should’ve been suspended like Jeff Gordon should’ve been after intentionally wrecking Bowyer at Phoenix in 2012. But then again, NASCAR also manipulated the GWC rules and tried to rig the race so that Dale Jr. could advance, and they still failed.
The Talladega race that year was the start of me disliking Harvick. The closing laps he was driving like an 80 year old on an interstate
I know this is a late comment on this video but the reason Kevin Harvick did what he did in the fall 2015 race, wrecking Bayne was because nascar is doing exactly what they are doing now, in 2022 going full entertainment. There technically should have never been another restart. This led to the mysterious overtime line that was placed wherever NASCAR thought it should be placed at the time when they wanted another caution to come out. I’m a diehard nascar fan, but nascar continues to pick and chose what calls are convenient for entertainment.
Missing rings Matt kenseth 2006
Basically, Harvick saving his season, costed him the title.
Kevin has been my favorite driver all my life, but I'll admit that move at Talladega was messed up.
Nobody knows what happened but him
You have to do missing rings Rusty Wallace 1993. Dude won 33.3% of the races and finished 2nd even with 2 devestating flips.
Plus, the Championship battle literally came down to the last race.
If you think about it, if he didn't wreck the field Dale Jr would have been in the final four
Missing Rings: Dale Jr 2015
@@DennyDeliversYT ua-cam.com/video/vbNDshRlDiE/v-deo.html
Oh.........never mind lol
Dale Jr. had five shots to win that 'Dega race and blew all of them.
If NASCAR had the Winston Cup format in 2015, Kevin Harvick would’ve won the championship this year

Missing rings: Kyle Larson 2017
Pls see this iceberg
This video is just showing how everything is wrong with the chase/playoff format. So it makes many wonder: what if there was no chase at all?
I am not in the mood to write a long comment explaining my opinion on the topic. But I feel that this video is really informative for me in this debates, one of the best examples, for sure. If anyone is interested in a clean, no-hate discussion, I will write a “long comment” I was talking about some sentences before.
If there was no chase at all, we'd have had a great duel between two extremely consistent drivers. Not sure how it would have ended up, since Joey probably wouldn't have had his run-ins with Kenseth had the Chase not been a thing.
@@seannolan9857 Yeah, it would have been definetely between Harvick and Logano. I know that they would have raced differently with the Winston format, so the conclusion is not 100% correct but, according to racing reference, Harvick would have ended up being the champion, 22 points ahead (1321 vs 1299)
What did him in was that fall Talladega race.
Missing Rings: Jimmie Johnson 2015
Tbh if he didn't have his problem at Dover he could have made the final four. As long as he made the round of 8 his win at Texas puts him in the Four.
Fascinating. I thought that Kyle Busch had locked himself into each of the rounds in 2015 winning at least one race in each playoff round (save for the Round of 12, of course).
@Joshua Boston in both his championship seasons, 2015 and 2019, Kyle Busch didn’t win any playoff races prior to Homestead. Stay consistent for the most part and jumped out to the top when it mattered the most.
That Talladega incident is why I don’t like Harvick and will never respect him. I have no doubt in my mind that he did that on purpose because thats who he is.
In Harvick's defense, though, he wouldn't have had to do it had it not been for the stupid Chase Grid format. He would've mathematically won the championship had there been no Chase. Also, Harvick wouldn't have likely done it if they didn't change the Green-White-Checkered/Overtime rule for that race. I blame NASCAR more for that finish being ruined than I do Harvick. Specifically, Brian France. AKA King Oxycontin.
Ay January When life was normal
Missing Rings: Kyle Busch 2018
yeah you might need to make another one of these bud
Talladega was f*****. Two insecurities with it. Kevin purposely wrecking Bayne to save his spot. And nascar calling the caution when Dale Jr was leading but reversed it to Joey Logano
Don't hate the player, hate the game. Not a fan of Harvick, but he was just playing NASCAR at their own game.
As for the winner of the race, yeah no it was Dale for sure.
Mantrion 24 Hey man 👋🏻
@@Brett_Baker_ Sup bud!
up until last year the one concistent thing i this playoff format is that the guy who deserves the championship the most doesn't win it
Harvick should of won 2015 2018 and the 2020 championship
By far the most disappointing year for me as Harvick fan since getting to SHR.. Godly fast all year, so many races that had something go wrong to keep the 4 from winning.. And in the end, lose the title to someone that didn’t even run 11 races... 2018 sucked too, felt like it should’ve been us or the 18... but still, I don’t even like to remember 2015
That Talladega mess that Harvick did was BS.......also Hamlin couldn’t move on from that round because of that....
He was laps down, he would've missed it anyway
Well... if Harvick didn’t wreck the field, I think Hamlin would’ve been in and Kyle Busch would’ve been out...because Kyle was in a must win situation coming into this race
Hamlin and Busch were tied before that happened. It’s very realistic that Junior and Hamlin would’ve moved on while Harvick and Busch would be eliminated
Missing Rings: Denny Hamlin 2015.....very speculative
@DennyDelivers Literally everyone forgets that Hamlin had top 5 in the first two races of that round and get screwed because of the mess at Talledega. Although, he had a whole bunch of car issues (something with the ceiling flaps not being properly installed) that caused him to be multiple laps down anyways at that point. It was still BS though
bad season Clint Bowyer 2019?
how?
jf deva he won 2 races last year and just fell apart
That would be a Bad Seasons video
Left Turn Productions [LTP] oh yeah ur right I forgot wops
Black Flags Matter makes those videos. Not Iceberg.
Kyle Busch shouldn't have been let in to the Chase after missing half of the season. That is ridiculous.
I personally think Gordon should’ve won the 2014 championship and Harvick 2015
Missing ring 2018
I don’t care if you think he deserves the title, that Talladega race has made me hold a grudge against him ever since
Then you're just beating a dead horse because you still actually believe it was intentional. Blame NASCAR for the finish, not Harvick.
@@Tylnorton It was intentional, but NASCAR should have penalized him. Fucking NASCAR and their inconsistency with penalties.
He wins in full season format that season him and Logano were the top drivers that year
Awesome video
Harvick pretty much Lepaged the field
@AwesomeMichael33 How to Kevin the Lepa-...I mean Harvick
Were you in the car with other competitors around you trying to get out of the way. You dont because you weren't in there so leave it alone and move on
David Chandler Leatherman That literally makes no difference. Everyone knows Harvick wrecked the field to make the next round.
Missing Rings: Chevy 2016 (Manufacturers Title)
Kevin harvick he will win back to back championship & I said many times missing rings:kevin harvick 2015 but good the iceberg in this new video this would be him under the old points system he is 22 points ahead of him joey logano but in the last race at homestead he will get him in 8 laps to go that is kyle busch but he pulled away the defending champion kevin harvick & then kyle busch wins the homestead & win for the championship missing 11 races. but still makes many wonder what if kevin harvick he is a strong car until the last lap at homestead
Missing Rings: Matt Kenseth 2006
Missing Daytona 500s: David Ragan 2011
Harvick would have won it without the playoffs.
What if Kyle was unable to come back at all for 2015.....
This is the guy that should have gotten it if Logano wasn’t gonna
I don't know about anyone else, but for me 2015 was a low point for Nascar. It was impossible to get over all the BS that happened that year. It legit felt like Nascar was biased for Logano and Harvick (especially Logano), and the whole nonsense with Kyle Busch winning the title only racing 25 races, this year is one I'd rather forget.
Get Rid Of Stages And The Playoffs, Racing To The Caution Flag Was A Good Enough Gimmick!
He’d be the real champion if it wasn’t for that shit format (2010, 2015, and 2016 champion with no chase)
Well he's not. He's going to win another one at least before he retires
2018 and 2019 can also be argued about him should’ve winning those 2 championships
Oreo Man false. Kyle Busch would win the 2018 and 2019 title with no gayoff format
IanPerez48 gayoff 😂😂
Oreo Man yeah😂 they belong in ball sports, not Motorsports🙃🤷🏻♂️
What If NASCAR never gave Kyle Busch the waver?
Hi
I had very little respect left for Harvick after he pushed Keselowski into a fight and ran away like a coward, and then I lost all of it after Talladega. Karma is a bitch. Hasn’t won a title since.
7:30 dale jr won that race.
Jr was screwed at dega
All thanks to NASCAR's bullshit overtime rule.
@@Tylnorton Which they didn't even follow.
Ahhh 2015 the year nascar sold out to yoter
The most bullshit season ever in NASCAR. I bet if anyone besides a Toyota driver had been in Kyle Busch's position NASCAR would've said "tough shit". This season is exactly why I gave up on this sport. Harvick and the #4 team earned that championship without a bullshit playoff format.... and no I don't hate Toyota, I think it's awesome they're in NASCAR competing with Chevrolet, Ford, & Dod.... oh fuck wait lol
