I met Richard at Chicagoland this year and he is soo awesome. He was having a discussion with some crew members and I stood by waiting for him to finish but he saw me and stopped what he was doin and came up to me and signed my hat and took a picture. Thank you Richard Childress.
Paul 713 I agree I was in the pits area and he was talking with another man and he stopped to sign my hat. I had a Dale Earnhardt Sr shirt on. He was really nice to me to stop to sign my hat, that I still have...
Been to the RCR Museum..my silver sharpie only comes out on special occasions. Senior will never be forgotten. And everyone knows that #3 car legendary history of thee greatest hero to drive it.
David Mcnerney I totally agree man! Nothing again Jeff Gordon ( who I thought was kind of boring)and Darell Waltrip was a good commentator, But Dale jr has the voice, the excitement, his “play by play” really adds to the racing experience. I love it! Still my all time favorite driver.
Jr is a never was and a whiny bitch who always blamed everyone else for his failures. The only reason why he has all the money and fame is because he mooches on seniors name and when Dale Sr was killed all his fans went to his son Jr including myself but man were we stupid because jr is a mooch and a sellout. To leave his father's company and go to one of seniors rivals was a travesty and his old man must have been rolling in his grave when he did that. I think jr is the biggest chicken and he never had any business behind the wheel
I genuinely love hearing stories about how the old days were , and how much RCR cared for jr. Oreo story is so cool.👍 Nascar wouldn't be the same without you RCR.
I Love You Brother! NASCAR Just isn't the same. Thank You so much for sharing your stories and memories with us. I'll never forget You , Your Dad, or Mr. Childress. I enjoy your podcast and I'm thankful everyday that I had the privilege of seeing you win in Texas when your papa was still with us. I can't believe that was almost twenty years ago. No one will ever forget the Earnhardt's in racing!
Grateful we didn't lose him a few times. The hard driverside hit in the crash with Harvick at AutoClub Speedway, the Sports Car crash at Sanoma, the plane crash
Dale Sr's footprint remains strong on NASCAR to this day, I wish a merchandise hauler exclusively for him still came to the track but you can still pick up things from RCR with his namesake on it...
I wish I had never gotten rid of my most valuable Earnhardt collectables. Those things you can't buy brand new anymore. But at the time everyone was willing to pay big money, the kind of money I wouldn't get today
@@user-cs3zs6jn1d I am so glad that I never sold my collection. I have every die cast of Srs cars. Wheaties boxes a 7 time champion leather jacket. I even have the front pages of a Daytona newspaper from 1998and an Indianapolis paper 1995 autographed by Dale. At one point I was offered $8000.00 for my collection. It was tempting but thank goodness I resisted.
This is by far THE BEST video I have ever watched on UA-cam. Jr. is the real deal, the hunger for the history of the sport that he grew up in is beyond anything I’ve ever seen someone dive into a subject before. I’m not the biggest NASCAR watcher, especially with how much it’s changed over the decades, but listening to Dale Jr. talk about “daddy” and all of the knowledge he shares is a huge draw for me. I miss the days, when the guy/team that won the most races by the end of the year got the big check and trophy. I also miss the “stock” appearance of the cars. I’ve driven a Richard Petty Experience car around Daytona, and spun a few laps with them at the Disney track before they turned that into a parking lot. I earned a ton of respect for the physical endurance it takes to be able to drive a car like that, in traffic, at 190 mph, for 500 miles. I ride and race dirt bikes off-road and thought that took concentration, and endurance. I think I held my breath for 8 laps around Daytona, I remember taking the biggest inhale of my life as I slipped onto the pit lane road lol. I miss Jr. in the car, but enjoy listening to his commentary during the races. I think it’s because of his depth of knowledge of the sport. I just wish they would listen to him, and his ideas, it’d bring a lot of old fans back to the sport.
"He had to have good stuff. You saw it in his career he had to have the cars and the equipment to accomplish what he wanted to accomplish." I appreciate the honesty. Earnhardt was not a god, but he was a pretty smart guy who knew his way around a car.
I'm jealous. ;) Awesome video, loving it. Can never get enough of Dale Sr., Dale Jr. and Rcr. Had the best day in my life in 1998 at the Daytona 500. 40th Anniversary of the track, 50th Anniversary of Nascar, 20th attempt of Dale Sr. trying to win it, which he did, and my first race to attend in person and I was there watching history. Will forever drive (hopefully) my daily driver 95 Monte in Rcr colors commemorating thay day. Wished 2001 never happened.
Nascar really is blessed to have Dale Jr. He single handedly teaches us fans more about Nascar history than everyone else combined just how in tells stories in such a memorable, humble way, and in a way that makes you feel like you were there. Nascar will never go away as long as Dale Jr. is around.
mr. Dale Earnhardt Jr we will never forget your dad and young man we will never forget you either and how big of a role both of you had played in NASCAR and what it means to all of us fans a heartfelt thank you from the bottom of our hearts here in Vermont
Awesome video love how both Richard and Dale Jr. stayed connected and won Busch races together in the 3 especially at Daytona. That 2010 July race they won together with the throwback Wrangler paint scheme is one of the best tributes to Dale Sr. ever.
Ya, really loved watchin and cheering for Jr., but Dale was THE man! Will never forget what it felt like when he went into the lead and to see a hundred thousand people lose their minds.
Such a good interview this man Richard Childress finding Dale Sr and them two going to the top.Dale Sr will never be forgotten. The rest of the story is endless,Dale Jr used to run late models at Myrtle Beach Speedway sporting the Sun Drop sponsor in an enclosed trailer with Tony Eury Sr telling him how to set the car up,tire wear etc and just talkiing to Junior he would chat with his fans. The Earnhardts came up pretty tough,Dale never did get to show Ralph Earnhardt his dad that he could wheel a stock car and win especially on those 500 lap races...................
How jr. Never ended up at RCR still blows my mind. The amount of money that would have been available and the ability for the team to focus on harvick and jr. Would have been supreme instead he went to Hendricks and got lost in the folds with jimmie and jeff
@@beereel4013 Worse is that Teresa got so greedy that she believed she owned the Earnhardt name. She sued Kerry and his wife because they set up a furniture line called The Earnhardt Collection. And IIRC, she even attempted to copyright the name "Dale Jr." to screw him over his royalties.
@@beereel4013 Her greed and selfishness is not even limited to the Earnhardt family. Chip Ganassi said she did squat during the short-lived Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. JR never ended up at RCR because Hendrick paid him a shitload of money and a decent cars. I'm sure he considered that option but didn't take it. Joe Gibbs also offered JR. a shitload of money but he declined also. My guess is that RCR probs wouldn't pay him the kind of money he wanted. I respect his Choice
It would take forever to say how great this video was. Jr I actually had your bud 8 with black tag on my car when you first raced. Before it was 7 time champ 3 car. After Daytona I put your dads tag back on. I’m a RCR and Earnhardt fan forever. Great video. Good luck at Darlington
Dale will never die in the heart of his diehard fans... my dad was also his biggest fan... he passed in November 96 so he never got to see day win Daytona, I'm sure they are the best friends now...Dale you'll always be our hero!!!

The stands would just erupt when his car came out of the garage onto the track. To this day his merch sells like crazy. RIP Imtimidator.
