Note: This video is exclusively Season 1 cars - I'll be doing more with the other seasons. Also I missed out Carmela's S210 Mercedes-Benz E320 wagon (!) so will add that to Season 2's video.
I clicked on this video without seeing the number of views; simply because I was interested in the topic. By the end of the video I realized it only has 70 views and my jaw dropped. Such a good job mate, soothing voice and wonderful analysis. Hope it reaches more car enthusiasts and Soprano fans.
I think overall it was Chris who had the nicest cars. Lexus LS, Mercedes CLK, Range Rover Vouge, Hummer H2, Johnny Sack’s used Maserati and the Cadillac pick up that he crashed eventually. His collection had diversity. He had a Japanese, British, German, Italian and an American made car. Most of the others like Sil, Paulie, Bobby etc mostly just had American cars Carmella’s Cayenne turbo, AJ’s E46 M3 and Gloria Trillo’s SL600 V12 were sick too. Btw, the Saab Melfi meets Tony in during season 1 was her son’s car. She mentions it when Tony asks her if the cigarettes in the car were her’s. Also, in season one carmella had a S124 E class wagon. It was shown in one scene only. She later switched to a S210 wagon which she had until season 5.
@@Hypersquid98 last episode. He eventually gets a black E46 after he takes up that movie producer gig at little carmine’s. He’s seen picking up his girlfriend from school in it.
“Not to be confused with the cataract” brilliant joke This is one of the best put together first videos I have ever seen, hope you do more of the sopranos and some of the other TV and movie greats. You definitely earned my sub with this one
I'll take Johnny Boy's Cadillac any day of the week, but honestly, Tony's Suburban has to get my vote for the best "car casting" in season 1. It was the perfect vehicle for a big imposing guy, who genuinely had a family and might need to haul around a bunch of people. The 4wd was probably useful in the winter, and the truck platform enforced those "hard working blue collar" roots tony was trying to portray as a head of a waste management firm. It's also just a great vehicle. And by the way, you remind me of this guy who used to make grilled cheese off the radiator, among other recipes. He seemed to like the Sopranos too ;) Really cool to see you branching out into other sopranos related subjects. This video was really well done and quite fun!
No mention of Paulie’s legendary custom horn? For shame! I kid, what a wonderful dive into such a beautifully esoteric topic, can’t wait to see more from you!
This randomly popped into my feed and I had no idea this was a small channel. Love ur production and an interesting idea for video topic. Keep it up :)
I daily drive a 2000 Lexus LS400 and I absolutely Love it. I was hyped when I first saw Chris’s LS400 roll up on screen, especially when he put the chrome aftermarket wheels on it. His CLK and Range Rover were pretty sweet too. But the LS400 was definitely the coolest ride on the show. I also think it was an interesting choice to have a mob boss driving a Suburban. Surprised they didn’t give him an Escalade or Navigator since Mafia guys are so loyal to Cadillac and Lincoln luxury.
I look forward more car related videos. My fav is Chris's ls400 because for me the first Lexus was the perfect car, well balanced. I also plan to buy own as soon as I have the money and find a good example.
One of my favourite shows of all time, I must have watched it at least 10 times over now. They don’t make shows like this anymore, even if they tried to it couldn’t compare. Myself, as someone who is a car fanatic and been in the automotive industry for over a decade now I loved seeing what cars they drove throughout the series. I bought my first Mercedes at age 19 (W220 S500) and i used to feel like a boss, just like tony. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! Much love from New Zealand ❤
The choice of cars is what brought me to the Sopranos. I’ve always had a fondness to this era of automobile, especially ones coming from brands like Mercedes, Cadillac and Lexus, so cars like the LS400 and SLS were such a treasure to see while they were brand new, almost like a Time Machine. I even owned a black LS400 for a short while just like Christopher’s and it filled me with just as much of a feeling of importance as I’m sure it did him. This video earned you a sub, and I can’t wait to see the rest.
Really good analysis; I've always found the car selection in The Sopranos to be an interesting aspect of the series, so it's nice to see a video that articulates this so well. Excited to see more in the future!
Maybe a part 2? With Carmela’s car(s) and maybe some of the New York crew’s cars? Excellent work btw, thank you for putting such effort into this video.
So glad somebody did this! I watched the sopranos, and grew up in the area the time it was set in, and ways thought it was a great show for “car spotting”
The production quality for a channel with less than 1000 subs is amazing. I hope you continue this series for the rest of the seasons of the show! Johnny Sack's Maserati Coupe was always my favorite car personally, it fit his personality and character so perfectly.
This was well written and thought out. Each car's reputation, build quality, and personality. Northstar's engine issues, Melfi's XJ6 being a lazy choice, etc. The Lexus LS400 oozes CEO energy. Chris wanting to project power, while being younger and not caring about buying an old person's luxury domestic makes sense in season 1. Perfect choice for him to drive, even though the LS is the complete opposite of his chaotic personality. If you do future seasons, cars to include: Chris' Pontiac Bonneville GXP, Phil's Lincoln LS, Johnny Sacks Maserati, hitman's Honda Del sol.
Johnny Sacrimoni's Maserati Coupe wins in my view. An incredible piece of automotive beauty. Very fitting for Johnny to drive a sophisticated Italian sportscar. He always dressed better then most of the other so-called "Italian" mafiosos
Before even watching the vid, my answer is Uncle Junior's 95 Town Car. Same care as mine. Can't beat the 95-97 TC's. Panther platform, rides like a cloud and reliable as hell. I don't drive a Cataract, I drive a Rincoln Continento
Currently in another season of "my youtube is filled with Sopranos clips" so I'm glad to have come across this. Can't wait to see what other videos you come up with.
Man this work is excellent, nice speech rhythm and a VERY cool video format. The way you framed the cars and added the characters name is pure excellence. Great stuff!!

What an outstanding video! You have to turn this into a full time thing, in the same exact style as this. The level of knowlege on the show and the cars are both great, and the puns top it off. Can't wait to see more videos!

@@gabrielmenezes1361 as a mercedes enthusiast, the R129 SL and Carm’s S210 takes the cake. In my country the wagons are extraordinarily rare
The pilot episode with Tony borrowing Christopher’s Lexus Ls400 is truly iconic

That LS400 could easily still be on the road. Everything else, not likely.

I just got my Lincoln towncar thats the same generation as Phil's. Funny enough my seats are actually broken.
