The best flight sim videos on UA-cam.‘just waiting for this channel to be HUGE!
You’re too kind! And thank you 🙏🏻
It should, can’t beat actual experience and knowledge
Stick to intercepting Russian military signals, you. Lol. Jk.
@@garethjohnstone9282 😆
Excellent and enjoyable video - many thanks! Excellent use of your real world experience as a tutorial for the F-5. I'm glad you noticed the reversed rudder problem with this release, and hope SC Designs fixes it soon.
Appreciate it, thanks. It’s a rough diamond, hopefully it’ll get some polish. Need a T38 in this sim for sure!
@@cgaviator Agreed! Love both the T-38 and F-5 series.
PS: Williams AFB, UPT class 89-03R. T-37s - John Black flight, T-38s Gombey flight. Last flight in a T-38 was 05 Dec, 1988. 1.5 hours solo as a "total time" make up in order to have enough hours to graduate. Flew C-130s in the active duty USAF from 1989 to Dec 1997 at Pope AFB then LRAFB.
Loved this, lived in and around Vance AFB, OK, Columbus AFB, MS, and Randolph AFB, TX. 38s and Texans were always fun to watch in the pattern and love seeing you fly it in the sim!
Thanks, appreciate ya! Great places to live for sure
Nice! Spent 4 years as a T-38 IP at Sheppard. This brought back some great memories. Thanks!
It’s crazy how true to life this sim can be. They’ve got a decent version of Prepar3D with custom scenery which is cool
Brilliant as always! Glad to see you back too! Will be updating the F-5E and uploading it soon, most bugs have been easy fixes :)
Music and poetry!
I’ve missed the videos and am so glad we got another!
Chris, I Really enjoyed the Sheppard AFB flight to its MOA...I would love to see more in the future from Sheppard and the F5. Another awesome video by you.
I don't know how I ended up here . I'm not a simmer or enthusiast but I do recognise a T-38 . I know a lot about Mercury/Gemini/Apollo and NASA used to give their astronauts T-38s (Talons ?) to keep them sharp and for business . In fact , in the early years 4 astronauts were killed in 3 separate T38 crashes (Freeman, Bassett/See & Williams) . Beautiful plane .
I never knew you were at Sheppard! Brought back my memories of my child self travelling around Wichita Falls and Sheppard, getting tours of the ENJJPT areas etc :)
I don’t advertise it all too much. Until now! 😅 I do enjoy MSFS for reminding me of the places I flew. Loved Wichita Falls!
Appreciated the video. My son flew the U-2 and thus spent a lot of time in the beautiful T-38. I'm looking forward to having him teach me to sim fly the T-5.
Flew the U2!? Incredible!
I really appreciate these training sessions, thank you. When I've finished modelling Little Staughton 1944 for Xplane the next project is Warton, mid 80s. I was there then and it was BAe's development heyday. I often watched Tornado IDS, ADV, EAP, FBW Jaguar plus all the antique chase Lightning, Canberras etc.
Your coaching will be invaluable!
Amazing, loved the Jaguar. Almost got a flight in one but it broke! 🤦🏼♂️
I grew up near Randlett, Oklahoma and saw the t37s, t38s, and the texans flying almost daily. It was a sight being in the middle of no where and seeing low level formations fly over.
Perfect! 👌🏻
We've missed your videos sir!
Missed y'all too!
Lovely video once again. thanks 👍
Pleasure!
Very awesome video! Thank you so much for this!!
My pleasure, of course!
Very enjoyable video, so much great information. Thank you :)
Thanks 🙏🏻
9:58 "So I"m talking quick" ... oh really 😅😅😅???
"That was a lot of fun" seems to sum it up pretty well. Entertaining and informative as always 👍!
Can’t help it, always on transmit! 😅
I'd love to see one of these for Vance AFB. Great Video.
Thanks! Didn’t make it to Vance sadly.
Great stuff. Those wings look like razor blades!
They absolutely are!
Yeah, those wings were added to separate the wingtip Nav Lights, otherwise you'd think they were all in one spot. 😂
Great video
Thanks, much appreciated
Amazing ! It is a beautiful machine.
Also have tested the new ch47 chinook by Miltech 😉
It’s not too shabby for sure! Chinook is quite something!
I love all these videos, would be great to see more of these realistic training sorties both home in the UK and over the pond with our American friends, going over things like airspace differences, VFR flying and basic RT.
Out of interest what sort of books would you suggest reading up on, I’ve done a bit of both PPLA/H flying in the past and have a ton of PPL books, plus I saw AP3456 is available via FOI as PDF downloads (Is that overkill?)
I love Aviation and your channel is fantastic, looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
Thanks, will do more like this. Perhaps a bit more focused on specific techniques. Nothing is overkill if you’re interested in it. I’m not sure if any books really that cover this sort of thing. Let me know if you find something. Maybe I’ll write one! 😅
Great video! I'm surprised F-5's came to the sim before a quality T-38.
Certainly before the C model as it’s rather complex. But yeah, the T38s need some love!
Brilliant video! Thankyou so much. Only trouble is, i now have to buy this aircraft too!.... oh well, never mind. 😂
Lol, sorry about that!
Nailed it!
Thanks 👍🏻
That rudder thing is something that happens with several airplanes, not just this one.
The reversing of the yaw reaction? Here’s hoping the latest update has fixed it
I‘ve been through Sheppard AFB before the EJJPT started, but I loved my time there and later at Luke AFB. I would by the F5, once they fixed the most obvious errors. And yes, I would like to see a T38!!!
Before the sun shelters went up? Must have been toastie!
😂very much indeed!
Wichita Falls represent, don't forgot to drop by Pegasus Loft 😂
Represent! 🤘🏻
Great to have you back online from,I'm guessing the USA ????????????????????
Thanks… and used to be! 😁
Hi! I hope to watch some procedures for Nellis Afb. Anyway I’m waiting for the Tornado by India Fox Echo 💪
I do plan to do some! Dream 2 for instance 👍🏻
I would recommend trying the DCS F-5E. It is much better simulated in DCS, plus you get to pew pew with it too in DCS.
I may have to, definitely worth a comparison
Initially makes me wonder what your thoughts about the DCS F-5E would be... i know it's an old module but just judging by the startup sequence i'd assume it's modelled much better? [not touching weapon systems, RWR etc because that comparison would obviously be unfair]
I am tempted to have a look. The DCS version is a lot more involved.
@@cgaviatorplease do! Your expertise would be priceless!
I hated Sheppard when I was there, but that was for maintenance fundies lol.
It’s much better from the air! 😅
IFF Instructor at SPS form 04-09, Sqd CC of the 88th at the End - when were you there????
Can’t remember I’m afraid, I was UPT
CH47d please Chris looks epic and as an ex-Boot neck I have an affinity with this aircraft and the amazing guys/girls who operated them! Maybe middle east missions??
So many models out recently, hard to keep up! 😂
@@cgaviator keep up the good work 😁👍
Just got the F104G Starfighter. Wish I'd seen this first.
No, the 104 is excellent! Great choice 👍🏻
@@cgaviatorWhew, what a relief 😅!! Thanks, mate.
@@peterbassey9668 you need to try your touch roll touch landing manoeuvre - think my old video on it is still somewhere! 😉
@@cgaviator Gonna search for it, CG. Once again, thanks.
What software / hardware do you use to control your views inside the cockpit? TrackIR?
Yup 👍🏻
What is your opinion on the updated flight model ?
Haven’t had chance to fly it since!
More Ip stuff please do the T6 from blackbird when it comes out saw the iris one will kill you in aerobatics lol
IP stuff, Wilco 👍🏻
If starting the right engine first, the parking brake (or toebrakes) would need to be applied and held wouldn't they? Is there a reason why you didn't start the left engine first?
T38 habits, right engine was started first due to the way the electrical buses were setup. Chocks left in until engines started but once removed, you rest your feet on them and keep them applied when not moving.
@@cgaviator Oh okay, thank you for the quick reply, I like to find out these details, I guess I'm a closet nerd!
@@winkle69 I think everyone is a closet nerd about something! 🤓
Can someone please explain why the T-38 Talon was never made for MSFS2020?
Lots of aircraft not made yet… fingers crossed
Will we ever get more ENJJPT videos?
Absolutely, but my time is limited 👍🏻
No worries!
You don’t have to answer this, but have you moved to the US to instruct on t38s? Cool if so mate 👏🏻
Edit: Alright, I started watching 😂
😂 Been there, done that 👍🏻
What’s tinder (as referred to in the video)?
The callsign of the runway controller (who is a pilot), they sit in a small building by the threshold to monitor and coordinate traffic to and from tinder’s runway: 15R or 33L.
When u say altitude are you talking about AGL or MSL
Hopefully I didn’t miss speak but altitude is MSL, height is AGL 👍🏻
Hmm, for example at 8:31 you mention 16,000 and 4,000 feet. Is that MSL or AGL?
@@matthewchido8450 MSL
I've been reliably informed that the T38/F5 is one of the few aircraft allowed to fly at 300kts under 10,000 ft while under radar control from ATC, otherwise it can fall out the sky ... allegedly. This gives us plenty of scope to rip it up !
Yup, that’s correct. I guess it’s for most fast jets. While it can fly fine at 250kt, if it’s a warm day and you’ve just taken off (heavy) you’ll struggle with single engine performance and the drag curve. Hence 300kt 👍🏻
till not update in monday(?) flaps have really strange behavior. it has four positions as in manual said. lever 5 positions. indicator show > 1up 2auto 3auto 4full and 5 full. two auto positions are different but not really auto:) other bug is some time it's just can not take off because of aoa grows too high. and some time same bug appear after landing, stop and run to take up again. i read on facebook there update upcoming so...
I didn't notice but you can feedback issue to the developer and I'm sure he'll look into it
@@cgaviator i did:) they after all said monday will update
so. we have tiger, starfighter... my guess is pretty logical to get mirage f-1 for now.
I’ve not seen that one in a sim for a while if at all. Other than DCS I think
@@cgaviatorStarfighter can be purchased at SimMarket. I just got one, haven't flown it yet.
Where is the battery master?
In the video during startup 👍🏻
Is DC or SC f 5 better?
Yet to try the Deimos version. From other videos I’ve seen the exterior of Deimos looks better but the interior of SC Design and maybe even the flight dynamics may be better. But I’m only guessing.
@cgaviator ok thank you!
The roll rate seem very fast is normal in real life ?
Oh yes, roll rate is crazy fast in a T38 so presume same for F5.
Does an A4 Skyhawk have better maneuverability than the f5 or no ? at same speed ovs
@@arifridman5651 good question, though I don’t have experience with the A4. Though my guess is that the A4 may have a smaller turn circle but the F5 may fly around the circle quicker. Just my guess though.
You’re fooling no one, that’s a MIG 28 😂
I need that livery! 😂
Man you've flown so many different aircraft, lol. This thing feels pretty unfinished and has a lot of issues. One thing I can't wait for you to review is the Tonka
I’ve flown a few, very lucky indeed. I’m sure updates will sort most things. Tonka will be sweeeet!
This version from DC Designs is unbelievable bad, don't waist your money on this !
They’re not priced as a full fidelity model, and updates are inbound 👍🏻
just play dcs at least there they get the HUD right
Yeah, but I can’t fly from Sheppard in DCS 😕
@@cgaviator thats true, microsoft just has more funds and devs they have more content 😞😞
