    it overboost becuase u have to port the internal gate hole and make it alot bigger so it can control boost better and also port the hole on the exhaust housing as you saw it was alot smaller. i had this turbo on my 33.

      Ahh that makes sense, I was thinking of at least smoothing out the exhaust housing flange but figured I should just give my experience as is out of the box for now and modify it later.

      hit the nail on the head mate, the higher and faster air volume at higher rpm cant escape quick enough through the small wastegate opening so it will start to take the path of least resistance, the big exhaust dump - so there will be less pressure to keep the gate open to bleed the boost off, hence overboost.

      @@Garage23dont need a mechanic or advice for that, its logic.

    Good stuff man. I was thinking this turbo or kinugawa for bolt on upgrade. In starting to lean toward the max speed rod.
    Is this a 3076 size?

    • @Garage23
      @Garage23  6 місяців тому +1

      That's a good question I didn't think to look up dimensions of other popular turbos and see how it compares. Just based on the power estimates it should be in that range.

    Bro why stock dump dowen pipe and intercooler ? what details about that turbo usa made or thi ? And what info about the turbo size hp rate etc ...? Thx

    • @Garage23

      1. because money 🤷🏽‍♂️
      2. We were going to go into that in this video but also want to do a long term review so specs and comparison will be in that video.
      3. We mentioned in this video that the turbo was rated for 500 hp so we probably won't get to test that any time soon but later down the line i do want to test if that's true.

      They also don't provide this information so I'm gonna try to figure that out from the measurements I took. And thank you for the comments 🙏

    I noticed you mentioned $95 in the previous video. but now the price is $145 is that correct?

    • @Garage23
      @Garage23  6 місяців тому

      Yeah there's 2 options one for 95$ and one for 145$ which is what I ordered but the box says that i got the 95$ one, specs on both are identical so I'm not sure what the difference is. But they did tell me there was no eta on the 145$ one so I'm guessing it's the older model 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Can you explain how you managed to get those 3 10mm bolts off from the elbow heat shield I cannot for the life of me get anything to snap those suckers loose, I've used so much wd40 and I can't find any way to get leverage to crack these loose, do you remember what tools you used to get it off? Cheers.

      What i usually do is drive the car really hard for at least like 10 min then Park it and don't touch it for a few days, i left it alone for a week. This has worked on most exhaust bolts for me. I just used a normal wrench and socket. One of the bolts did break tho.

    • @Pcmanx19
      @Pcmanx19 4 місяці тому

      Thanks so much for your reply! Only issue for me is my turbo is completely blown hence I cant drive it hard at all to do this method at the time and all my pipings and what not are removed getting so close to removing the old turbo to put in the new but been struggling up until this point, I'm think I may just have to remove the turbo from below the bay with my dump pipe and part of my exhaust still attached all in 1 piece

      Luckily mine blew during a couple hard pulls against an SRT8 so i just parked it after that 😅

      @@Garage23 Hahahah love it, I was unlucky in my import purchase from Japan with mine, came with a blown turbo right off the delivery bed so never got to enjoy it for a whole year and just bought the tomei ball bearing bolt on kit for the rb25 😅
