Great job! I will be helping a friend do the same thing to his 20 foot trailer. I'm doing a scaled down version with our 16 foot trailer. Ours will be an over flow sleeping area for grandkids or whoever.
Nice Job.... I am in the process of converting an 8x16 v-nose cargo trailer into an RV and Mobile Sign Shop. I am just starting the walls and cabinets construction. I just sold a 15-passenger shuttle bus that I lived in for 3 years and traveled out west during the winters. I had to sell the shuttle bus because I purchased a large format color printer to make contour cut decals/stickers, koozies, t-shirts, magnetics, banners, mousepads, etc. The large format color printer would have taken up a lot of storage space so I needed to get something bigger. I did a complete conversion series on the shuttle bus from the ground up and now am doing a new series on the cargo trailer conversion. They are on my YT channel.
Great Camper you made there, Thanks for the video! My 4x6 v-nose toy hauler-camper-theater is quite compact. I added front 4x5 deck plus roof rack and hitch rack, Extra room for 2KW Inv-Gen, LP bottles, Solar pnl, and Awning. 3 cabinets hold cooking equip. and the 24"TV/entertainment ctr. Tri-fold sofa-bed, 5K BTU AC, elec heat and induction cooktop complete the collection (so far). Thinking about a folding room pinned onto my ramp that will be outside galley and more inside space. It will tie down on the front deck. Pulling it with a 1.8L Scion XD gets well over 20mpg
@@roadglassandmore In my younger days I drove a truck so I can drive a stick and the Scion is 5 speed standard. However, Toyotas are built tough. My son and I towed an 18 ft inboard/outboard ski boat from Phoenix to Oklahoma city with a 1500cc Echo with an automatic!
Awsome trailer conversion . How did you build your lift mechanism that lifts your bed,it looks so simple and works so nice. That is exactly what I would like to build.
Could I get your source for the fold up couch/ bed please. Ok , I found a RecPro on Amazon, but I’m not sure I want to shell out $1000 each. Thank you. You spared no labor to get your trailer to fit your needs. Very nice.
I ordered from recpro, I know they are expensive, but that’s pretty much the only option we have, you can try local wrecking yard , if they have any rv’s
thank you!, I wired everything myself, and each 12 v output has its own negative and positive wires ( meaning I didn’t ground the battery to chassis, everything has fuses,)
@@roadglassandmore why did you switch to headline material? Did you also buy this on eBay? Also, great idea insulating the bottom of the trailer. What is the black coating that you applied to the foam board? Does it make it waterproof and are you happy with it?
@@dirkjackson8939 I read is the ceiling, spray foamed it. And decided to try headliner this time. I just used spray paint on the bottom, so the pink board kinda blands in
I don’t have solar set up, I thought about it a lot, but I can’t justify the cost . I run my small gas generator ( $300) in quiet mode when I need to charge my batteries. And I do run my mini split on batteries I have 3 - 12v 200amp batteries
@Road Glass and more oo okay i misunderstood ! So how long do you get out of your batteries? running just a split unit? I am a putting down deposit on my new trailer tomorrow!!!
When you installed your windows, did you have to weld in or install any frame bracing in the wall, or just cut out and install the windows in the walls? I'm contemplating whether or not I need to brace the walls with frame from top to bottom for the window to set into. Thanks, Tom
I ran some flooring thru a planer to get right thickness and framed 2 windows and the door. Attaching to the 'Z' studs. My cargo walls were hollow and mounting to the skin only would have been really weak
I usually run it at night and use generator at day time, voltage drops from 13.1 to around 12.5, also fridge , pump , lights are drawing power too at the same time . So I think I could easily run it for 24 hours or more if needed

Awesome build! Excellent use of space. Very nice!👍
Thanks!
I'm not an off-road toy guy, that door would be the floor for my screen porch. Other than that, aces!
That’s a good idea!

Wow great job sir. Quite the build you did, all by yourself. 👌🏼
Thanks.
Was a lot of work for sure.

Sounds like a very nice built, and you are able to pull it with scion , that’s impressive.

awesome trailer, great job! 😍
Very nicely built trailer 💪💪
Thank you!
Nice built!
Super Nice! Great Job....
Thanks!
Awsome trailer conversion .

I used hand winch. Buy one that has worm gear. Amazon, harbor freight.

Perfect set up... how much did the build cost you without trailer.. really thinking about selling my class a motorhome and build me one of this
The built cost was around $8-8.5k,. Total cost was around $21 k,
Look good. Where did you get your electrical diagram from? I’m looking at converting a 20’ x 8.5 and I want to do all the electric. Thanks Tim.

Awesome build. Where did you get the fold down couch/beds????
Thanks. I got them at record.com , I got 72” but they also have 60” which are a bit cheaper
Great idea to use marine carpet on the ceiling? What size did it come in and where did you purchase it from? Thanks!
I bought roll on eBay, 60” wide. I actually redid the interior a little while ago, I now have beige headliner material on the ceiling

Yes I welded in square metal tubing, to give it more support .
It’s in this video ua-cam.com/video/w4i-GlI4Dtg/v-deo.html

Where did you get the couches? Those would come in handy for my enclosed trailer
I bought it from recpro.com here is a link www.recpro.com/recpro-80-rv-wall-mount-rollover-sofa-with-adjustable-legs-in-cloth/
Very Nice👍
Thanks
What do you tow with
2014 Nissan Titan
👍 👍 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
What kind of truck you pull this with and how long is the trailer
Okay 24ft vnose
2014 Nissan Titan.
@@roadglassandmore whats the tongue weight fully loaded? and total trailer weight fully loaded? seems like a lot for a 1/2 ton truck.
How long can you run the minisplit on that 600ah battery?
