Me too! I got my precious dog when I was about 5 months pregnant with my first child. He was the first dog that was truly mine. I raised my son and daughter with him there the entire time. He recently passed at 10 and I have been devastated but I think its because of what Ryland said. My Cooper will have an extremely special place in my heart because I learned how to be a Momma with him by my side.
Ryland went from, “No, we don’t need another dog rn” to “OMG, I LOVE HERRR‼️” 😂 He’s such a dad, so truee 😂

As a responsible, purebred breeder. Please know that this puppy most likely came from a puppy mill. If you can go on a website, and just purchase a puppy… it’s probably a puppy mill. No RESPONSIBLE breeder does that! Please have that puppy thoroughly vet checked asap. I hope she stays healthy and has a long life. But please don’t support these places, by purchasing a dog this way.

This just isn’t true. All the purebred breeders in my area have websites set up like that. They have their papers and most also breed show dogs. How are you going to be competitive when there are multiple breeders in your city if you don’t have a website? They still come check out your house and make sure you’re a good fit for each other

If you ever think about getting another dog i HIGHLY recommend checking out Bunnies Buddies. They rescue Golden Retrievers (as well as some other breeds) from the meat trade and kill shelters in China & Korea. Cheaper than paying a breeder and you'd be saving their life.

the meat trade will barely have purebreds, if they did they would immediately be sold for profit. those are racially motivated schemes to sell dogs from puppy mills. meat trade dogs are often mutts and mixes of a bunch of different breeds. you aren’t saving their life, you’re falling for a scheme that helps support the racial stereotype that all Chinese and Korean people eat dogs.

Congrats on the puppy! For future reference for anyone watching this - there are better ways to shop. Finding a reputable breeder, AKC registered, health tested (OFA scores, genetic tests), making sure it's not a puppy mill as a lot of these "online instant purchase" puppies are... A real breeder will want to interview you and know you are a good home rather than blindly sell to anyone.
What about adopting? It's much better, I'm sure there's lots of babies wanting a new home, it's not about breed it's about love.

YES 100%! I do wish they had went with a more responsible breeder and been a better influence for their audience. Believe it or not "adopt don't shop" is an extremely harmful mindset and leaves more dogs in shelters. Responsible breeders really help more than most people give them credit for. It's less than responsible breeders that are really contributing to our pet overpopulation crisis and unfortunately it seems like they went with one. ):
A good breeder will be registered with a reputable kennel club (AKC, UKC, KC, etc.), each of their dogs will be genetically health tested with clear results before being bred, they will be professional, and they will fully interview you before you can even think of taking home one of the pups! They will also check up on you, give advice, and give guidance through the first few weeks of your dog's life, and will likely want to check in later down the road as well! They will also be willing to take in the puppy at any time if you can no longer care for it, no questions asked; Responsible breeders never let their dogs go to shelters!

Although I never support that kind of shopping for an animal, I work with dogs and I can tell from her instant body language and openness towards the two of them and also with the other dogs that she has likely come from a good loving place. I’m so happy for you guys 💓

My mom bought a dog that was “near her” too. It was just the office and the breeders were off site on a ranch. Rescues also have fosters all over the place so nothing is really near you. 🤣

Genuine question about Riley's gas: 😂 did you guys buy the same food that the breeder was feeding? Changing that rapidly can cause gas and diarrhea. But being nervous can also cause her to have a nervous tummy. 🥰 she is perfect!

@@HunterDimaio exactly! Introduce a ne food slowly, by mixing an increasing amount into the old food, a bit at a time. I believe it should take at least 1-2 weeks to complete the transition. 😁👌🏻
It could also be the fact of her diet, grains can cause gas. In otherwise something isn’t sitting right with her stomach

for anyone watching PLEASE don’t just shop like they did. if you have to go through a breeder find one that does the proper testing on their dogs and have an adoption process not just an online “click to adopt” thing. adopting from a shelter or even a pure bred rescue group is ALWAYS the better way to go anyway

I’m actually so sad about this that I don’t want to watch thier videos anymore. I don’t think they understand the impact they have. People are going to see this cute puppy and do exactly like they did and buy a dog at random online or from a puppy mill. It’s just so irresponsible.

That’s horrible you can just buy a puppy online without the company/person doing a background check on the person to make sure they will take good care of it. I just adopted a kitten and they wanted my social, drivers license, and had to sign a contract. Not saying they won’t take good care of the dog, I know they will, but wtf not everyone has the best of intentions with animals.
there’s truly nothing that compares to the feeling of bringing your puppy home for the first time. with my dog, it was seriously the greatest day of my life. 4 years later and i’m still so obsessed with her. I wonder if that’s what people with babies feel like lol

I've been watching Ryland and Shane for ages now, seeing a new addition to the family makes me so emotional :,)
I totally felt that breakdown moment for Ryland when Shane just impulsively got the dog. Like Ryland is the one with the whole responsibility and the baby plans will be shaken. Riley is so adorable!!!!
I impulsively bought my pup at a Petsmart from a lady selling her puppies in the parking lot (I highly recommend that NO ONE does this, but I couldn’t resist the cuteness 🤦🏻♀️). Thankfully Ryland and Shane have so much love to give, because I wish I could adopt another dog as a brother/sister to my baby 🥺💜 So jealous right now, Riley is a cutie!!!

What a beautiful dog! But please help educate your viewers that this is not the best way to purchase a puppy! Always make sure to see the mom/parents, all paperwork, and don’t purchase anything over the Internet before seeing the dog! That being said, I am happy for you all and am excited to see your family grow!!

@@brittanyDELL Adopting isn't always the best option for everyone. Especially for Ryland and Shane who want to bring a child into their home. A lot of dogs from the shelter are amazing don't get me wrong, but when they are a few years old sometimes you just can't possibly know their history and temperament in certain situations.

She’s so sweet but really doing research on your breeder and making sure there has been health testing done on the baby’s parents is what you should do. Especially with a breed like a Golden who are prone to cancer. Hopefully the site you got her from does all the testing! Congrats on your new baby!

Just a tip tho, when Ryland put the lead on her, I noticed he put it on backwards. It’s the side with the metal ring. That way you can adjust it around her neck. The part with the brown on it is where you hold it. Just thought you should know in case you didn’t😅

As a foster coordinator for a dog rescue, this breaks my heart. Especially for a golden retriever/lab. Your right Shane, you said it, adopt don't shop. You could have saved 2 lives, one of the Golden puppies we have in our rescue or many other rescues and then the next dog that could have taken its place in rescue but is stuck in a kennel at a shelter instead. Oh well, cant expect people who know better to do better. Maybe you should come help with the euthanasia at the shelter of happy lovable animals just for space, because people breed them quicker then we can save them.

I am the least dog person going but, the happy hit I got from this entire video was immense. She is so cute. All the dogs are and it was so lovely to see the other dogs embracing her. My husband loved the name Piper for a future daughter but we had a son first and when we found our puppy we just knew her name was meant to be Piper and we couldn’t imagine it any other way! Kinda disappointed you guys didn't adopt. As someone who regularly volunteers at my city shelter that houses 300 dogs & 250 cats a time (sees about 10k+ animals come through in a year), I sadly get to witness how harmful backyard breeding is. Please do more research in the future!
