The previous owners of your house are just the sweetest. It's so special that you made a connection with them. I hope you guys stay in touch, it's such a rare occurrence for something like this to happen. Like it was absolutely meant to be ❤️ This house feels like a home. California didn't convey the same way, in videos. I'm so happy for you both
For future tornados I suggest getting a storm shelter, there's below ground and above ground shelters. Also you want to get in the lowest level of your home and in the center of your home preferably a closet. You want as many walls between you and the wind/debris. Stay away from windows. You can purchase a storm radio that will be able to charge your phone and you will be able to hear weather alerts.
I would literally watch a daily vlog from Ryland and Shane at this point.........Loving every second of the new adventures!!

I lived in tornado alley for grad and undergrad, and let me tell you, it is the weirdest feeling when people are totally calm around you when the tornado siren goes off and you start panicking and going to find shelter. (Originally from CA)

@@arianah8842 I think it’s because growing up in tornado alley you know that if you’re going to get killed by one there’s no preventing it. They don’t kill people often but if you’re in the deadly part of the storm path and can’t get away in time there’s literally nothing you can do so why freak out. 🤷♀️🤣🤷🏾♀️

Rewatching in September 2023 and I think it's so special that as soon as they moved into this home, they saw twin deer and twin turkeys. It was a premonition of things to come! Can wait for Max and Jet to meet their animal friends in Colorado!

Ya'll, NOT KIDDING, we have deer at our house too and we feed them wild bird seed and they love us so much now. Feed those sweet babies. You don't have to get close just let them watch you dump some bird seed for them, and then walk away and watch from a distance and they will slowly start getting used to you and loving you and then they will stick around and you can watch the babies grow 😍

When our friends are over they are more hesitant, but if they see a familiar face they will walk right up for their snack, while still being aware of the strangers. They've become trusting of us because we've never harmed them, but provided a yummy snack and some admiration.

As someone who has lived their entire life experiencing tornadoes it never occurred to me that there are people who haven't and how terrifying it could be for them.
I’m a California native and it always makes me pause when a non native freaks out about an earthquake. I’m over here like “I don’t get out of bed for anything under a 5.0” and they’re running around in circles crying.
I’ve lived in Florida my whole life so hurricanes don’t really scare me. I went through Hurricane Andrew in 92’ s well. I’ve never heard a tornado siren go off even though Florida does get its fair share of them. I guess if we live with a certain kind of natural phenomenon that causes disasters long enough we stop being terrified of it.
I'm the say way with earthquakes since I live in California they are nothing to me but thinking of being in a tornado terrifys me.

@@rlsx it’s definitely not expensive! just a little bit more than walmart and way higher quality. you could get like 20-30 earrings for $10 and they’re good quality. i’ve gotten quite a few things from there and i’m not rich or anything lol.
