    I met Billy Bob Thornton in 2000, on the set of Bandits, along with Bruce Willis as well. Bruce was plenty polite and shook hands with many fans. Billy Bob, on the other hand, set the standard. He came out with stacks of autographs, pre-signed. He stayed and talked with all of us. He was married to Angelina Jolie at the time and put up with all the stupid questions. I realize that perhaps he comes off as a bit eccentric, but I've always felt like that's a bit of an act. He's practically Mr. Rogers when he's interacting with fans. Unforgettable.

    At 54:26 Riz Ahmed makes a very valid point. I've heard people write off a show/movie saying it's "too political" when in fact the show/movie wasn't really political at all, just told a story from a different viewpoint than they were used to seeing.

      I assure you, every decision that has to do with a large budget, executives and a mass audience Is absolutely political. It gets In the way of pure story out of fear of segregating your audience.

      People who take no responsibility for their uncomfortable feelings about a movie always blame the movie, as though they came to it without preconceived notions of what it ought to be. When people say a movie is boring I wish they would say I was bored with it. When they say it was offensive I wish they would say they were offended. It would make for a more.honest discussion.

    • @logicsfinest3471
      @logicsfinest3471 4 роки тому +9

      grayforester exactly! Films that are cerebral, require paying attention, or take uncomfortable viewpoints are attacked as boring, confusing, too political or not escapist.
      When I hear those attacks I see those people as saying , they don’t have the attention span, or the desire to examine difficult topics. The problem is that’s the majority of any society.
      Simple mindless fluff will always garner more attention than thoughtful artistic brilliance.

    This was a great round table: A wonderful and diverse mix of actors, all handled suburbly by Lacey. She takes a very improv feel with the interviews; lets the actors riff and picks up on the current conversation meta to build to other questions.
