Also, if you have a Ps4 controler wired with the Ps3, instead of Taping the Circle, while holding Circle just unplug the Ps4 controler,you still get the message about controler disconected, but the game still running in the backround.
I found a solution to this. Go to any 2x2x2 box stack, stand in front where the taunted will destroy the boxes, and then face camera towards ratchet. It'll infinitely tespawn and destroy boxes. You only get like 3 bolts per second, but it leaves a massive pile, and so far, I haven't found a bolt on the ground limit.
It don't work on PS3 for HD version because I just tried it and it ain't working for me I have tried constantly multiple times as well On the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy

Slope Intercepting can also be used to skip annoying missions (i.e. flooding water in Rilgar) and obtain Gold Bolts that are supposed to require certain gadgets.
Not sure if this is just in the HD version but there is a very simple spot in the route to Quark's trailer where you don't have to glitch our way onto the race track at all.
I used this back in the PS2 days. Well, the Decoy Glitch. Pretty weird they decided to throw in a trophy that requires you to earn 1 million bolts. The first Ratchet and Clank didn't had a bolt multiplier but I think you get a small amount of extra bolts on a new game+ I'm not sure on that. Without this glitch this would've been a hell of a grind, they should've made it around 500 thousand bolts.
Thomas Nitta: The HD Collection is the same as the PS2 version it hasn't been updated at all (besides the graphics) you can preform every cheat and glitch you can on the PS2 originals.

@@daseal1479: I wouldn't have known that thanks. Last time I checked though the game is version 1.0 so that's odd. I just assumed everything was about the same. Maybe it's more similar to Sonic Adventure 2 HD then I thought pretty sure even in the first version the invisible wall in the Chao Garden was patched so you can no longer go out of bounds but there's little reason to do that. Similarly with the collision with stairs under the the Hero Garden you can no longer run underneath it endlessly like you can on GameCube very odd when I noticed that. Oh yeah.... inadvertently the infinite ring trick is impossible (by traditional means) due to not being able to soft reset.
Dude you’re awesome! I got the collection of ratchet and clank and jak and daxter for my son so he could experience the amazing games that I grew up with and this was super helpful to make it easier for him ( he’s 4 lol)
THANK YOU! I tried the sewer one and after one time I couldn’t get it anymore. Not sure why, or if that’s just standard idk, but then I found this video and I’m currently doing that while the O button is taped down. After about 10 mins, I got back to it only to find that those slime ball amoeboids had moved me out of position! Stayed standing under the boxes on the “middle” (second from right) light for the rest of the time and that seemed to be a better placement out of the way of those blobs! Maybe I should have tried to kill them beforehand instead. Either way, awesomely successful!!
Or you could just use Hologuise before entering the race, then entering the race as a robot, avoiding the Hoverboard, turning back into Ratchet and then running to the spot with the Taunter

This worked on my platinum PS2 version but I only got a couple per second and nowhere near 13 a second. Tried it again and all the boxes on that platform disappeared.
The couple per second thing could have been fixed by repositioning your character a bit. Otherwise... It's a one time thing. Because the crates don't respawn due to their spawning nature. The glitch registers them as broken which places their respawn value at 0, where the races don't change that value.
Little tip. If younhave the real first version of the game on ps2 you just need to use the robot custom and enter the race,,, evola younare on the track and can move.

Big Dawg If you’ve already collected 300,000 bolts, the remaining 700,000 should take you roughly 12-16 hours with this glitch giving you about 14 bolts/sec. I’m not a mathematician, so don’t quote me on this, but I’m pretty sure that’s how long it’ll take you. With the progress you’ve made already, it should definitely be done by tomorrow if you start now.
This method is fine, but the Cheat Engine one is way faster, not really complicated, can be used on all Ratchet & Clank games and even some other games.
This works on the HD collection. Takes a while if you ain't too good at glitching above some areas, also worth noting that once you land on that tree you only have a few seconds before it throws you off of it. The old method DOES NOT WORK on the HD collection as I believe they rebalanced the game in some areas to make it more realistic. The RYNO if memory serves was a million bolts back on the PS2 and here it's only 150 thousand so it'll come to you faster but at the same time takes longer as they adjusted how many bolts are in each box. You don't have to use those specific boxes to do the glitch as the boxes on the track have the fastest possible respawn value of all items in game when not on screen. Also worth noting that doing this in challenge mode will bankrupt the game's economy and net you the achievement that much faster.

still works on the ps premium game EDIT: Even though the circle button is held down the network will kick you off for inactivity since you can only stream the game and not download. Your bolt progress will not be saved, making this effectively useless on the ps5.
Hey man, I found a way to do it. Get rubber band and put it around your controller so all the camera does is look around. I won’t kick you out and the bolts still work
I found a another way that works every time and allows you to get off your hoverboard and still has infinite boxes I found this out 12 years ago may upload a video when I try again
If I was farming for bolts with a glitch on PCSX2, I'd just rather Cheat Engine my way and be a multibillionaire. Why would I waste time and PC uptime on this?

Actually, it gives a lot of bolts per second. Roughly 5-7. Still leaves the big pile, but you can still AFK grind.

You can also try the Sewer Method by using the taunter in a specific pipe in the sewer. Just try every pipe until you find the one that works.

You can buy a C-clamp at the hardware store and "clamp" / press the button with the clamp tool.
Just use a DS4, hold O and unplug the controller, it’ll keep O pressed with no actual input from the controller

I mean if you’re on pcsx2 and you’re gonna cheat your way to get bolts, then might as well just use cheat engine to modify your bolts

I haven't tested it yet but I think that if using PCSX2, set the game at 50hz and you will "gain" 10fps at your total frames skipped.
I just used my hammer to put pressure on the O button

The glitch is perfect for ps2/3/vita but why bother if you are playing it on pc ? Just use cheatengine to freeze your bolt value.
What if you do the glitch and then start the race by going backwards will this respawn the crates?
I know this is an old video but after you get the bolts do you just hop off the track and die? Or continue walking to the finish line?
