Am in late 70's and I used to live in Crescent City CA. I kayak fished for about 7 years. Caught many Ling and Rockfish. My best was a 43" CA Halibut. I say this because I can't do that anymore but I love watching your quality videos. It puts me back out there. I live in the heartland now and miss the ocean. But I love watching you guys.
You should watch his vid with Matt @fishermans life and chief hiro @ diaries of a master chef, they collaborated a video while ago. Taku did a few vids with hiro.
I just did that drive in the opposite direction. AK to CA! My advice for Alaska is explore places like Copper Center, Valdez, Talkeetna, definitely Homer and Seaward! All have great fishing! Advice for driving the Alcan is stop at every single gas station. Even if you just filled up. It could be the last station you see for another 90 miles. Especially the closer you get to Alaska. Have fun!!
Yes ! Nice video and just in time !!. so Awesome to see all of you together fishing and supporting each others cause ! 👍. Always great to see Taku, fillet, prepare and enjoy his meal with jocelyn. Can't wait for the next one !! 💗🎣🌟👍
An outdoor chef life cookbook would be amazing! I would love to have all of the amazing recipes and tips you provide in the cookbook too. Keep up the great content!
SQUAD UPPP!!! Ahhh I love how I started watching you then found fisherman’s life and then I see you guys in videos together. It’s crazy how small the world is. Love to see it
Wow finishing the video rn and sheeeeesh that sauce on the fish looks amazing!!! Also the onion rings look soooo crispy. Def a video that will be saved so I can recreate this masterpiece
I watch all you guys and my 4yo daughter love your vids! Im going gishing tomorrow hope to have luck like you guys!!! Keep them vids coming bros! It would be awesome to see the ladies fish to inspire my daughter! She loves it!!!😊
Your fillet technique gets me every time, just so perfect. Need to practice more often as I usually end up butchering it. Great content and can't wait to see your Alaska videos!
Taku Kondo you are the bomb. Never get tired of watching you fillet fish and make your sushi/sashimi creations. Your videos are inspiring, I even want to learn to fish but probably too late for me - get seasick, can't swim in the ocean and too squimish to handle live fish. Keep up the great work, your enthusiam makes everyday brighter. Plus you and Jocelyn are the coolest.
Nice, some of the best video I’ve seen. Sometimes watch other videos of a couple other anglers and their video is very digital looking. This is a testament to how good a video can look. Thanks.
Congrats on the completion of your new road home! Your layouts and design were super impressive and inspiring. Safe Travels to you and Jocelyn! Looking forward to seeing all your adventures along the way to Alaska!
I need that cook book asap man keep up the great work can’t wait to see that Alaska trip content it’s gonna be great be safe and stay being y’all never change
Taku, I doubt you'll see this but I wanted to thank you for the videos you make. It makes me happy to see you out living your best life and it has inspired me to try harder to find my own happiness. Your content never fails to make me smile and it has helped widen my perspective so I can become grateful for all the amazing things this world has to offer. Thank you again, and heres to many more adventures I'll surely tune in for
Taku and Joc, you should visit Vancouver Island when you are heading up here. You also better be bringing your kayak to Alaska. I want to see some Alaska Kayak content if you can.
@@hungpham Few ideas. Maybe a rear vertical mount on the rear. Or I have seen ladder racks with assists on the side of these vans that you can mount at the side and use a pulley style system to swing it up top.
Love it when you guys get together and happy to see you catching fish again. Look forward to the Van trip to Alaska, just watched some of deermeatfordinner videos. Wonder if you could have used some of that sauce on the onions rings. In the future, I would like to see some videos on your knives, I have just bought a couple for myself and I make a bunch of different fermented vegetables. A good sharpe knife, really makes cutting up vegetables, for fermenting much nicer, thinner slices with the sweet peppers, jalapeños and red onions or making sauerkraut, changes it somehow. Anyway enjoyed this and that you pickled some kelp, never thought of that before.
Always so impressed by your excellent editing but most of all your food presentation and the video presentation of the food. Well edited and really one of the best if not THE best catch and cook! That you are a sushi chef is obvious. All that basic sushi presentation comes right through into your own unique style!
Wow what an amazing video, delicious food and even better company. Thank you for giving us excellent ideas for meals. Love the fact that you catch, clean and cook your meals. Good luck with the trip to Alaska, looking forward to watching the cool videos coming up, can't wait! It's going to be great and exciting adventure for you and us ❤️🤗
Love your videos Taku. One of the main reasons I broke out of my comfort zone and took on cooking was because of you and the possibility that I could cook/recreate the dishes you make. Keep the amazing content coming
Your knife skills really are impressive. Thanks for always being so informative! You’ve really helped me become a better fisherman and a better more diverse chef
Great content, my daughters and I love watching. I hope you check the border before you leave, it has been closed and the closure extended to July 21. Hope it opens for you, that would be some great fishing.
Just got my first respectable lingcod this weekend and you drop this 🔥 today, can’t thank you enough!! Going to try this out this weekend. Thank you brotha
I've watched since your start. Great content, I especially like it when your kayak fishing. I would suggest a 360 camera on a pole right behind you. It would be an amazing feeling, to be able to watching your surroundings as you fish.
I will be in Petersburg Alaska this Friday for 2 weeks for big halibut, king salmon, Dungeness crabs and spot prawns. Staying at Island Point Lodge on self guided trips.
Awesome looking fish sandwiches, I’ll definitely try that using some frozen cod: hard to get lingcod here on the Canadian Prarie (Manitoba). Your Alaska trip, If you have time would be great to see some of the BC coast (Sunshine Coast) too, catching and foraging along the way.

That’s so cool ya’ll are all close. No egos, all fun and friends.
I love the way he drinks his beers. If he’s drinking he ain’t sippin, he’s ripping a solid gulp
My wife hates me for the exact same reason. "Your sips are gulps!" HAHA
Heroic gulps. This is the way
same thing with his bites, he bites with purpose.
@@Bigchill562 Gotta make sure you get every ingredient in that bite
🤣 you should see my family parties
i love how you guys have this little community of youtube fishermen.

When the world ends, we need to rely on them for food
Watched from less than 50k subs and now, 500k! Amazing stuff Taku! Deserve it all 😀
woo!🙏
Taku makes me feel like everythings gonna be okay
Especially when it isn't going to be okay.
Just in time! Who’s ready to watch some Outdoor chef life!!
MEEEEEE
I think we need a cookbook with a bunch of the local catch and cook legends. Even if it’s digital could be fun. See you July 10th
You should watch his vid with Matt @fishermans life and chief hiro @ diaries of a master chef, they collaborated a video while ago.
Taku did a few vids with hiro.
@@80530Caligame it would be cool if incompetent people didn’t exist, a lot of selfish fucks will ruin those “hotspots” unfortunately
The best parts of your videos are when you fillet the fish and cook and then grubing it down with your lady. Life.

I miss your camping and foraging videos 😩 they were my fave.
You know Taku puts out good videos when you’re unsure whether you’re more excited for the fishing or the cooking part of his videos
Your fillet technique gets me every time, just so perfect. Need to practice more often as I usually end up butchering it. Great content and can't wait to see your Alaska videos!

Quite a drag carrying that kayak all the way to Alaska on his big van. How do you load the kayak on top of the high roof van?
@@hungpham Few ideas. Maybe a rear vertical mount on the rear. Or I have seen ladder racks with assists on the side of these vans that you can mount at the side and use a pulley style system to swing it up top.
I enjoy fishing for rock fish/lingcod videos a lot! And yes it’s all about the fish sandwich vs chicken for me!
