- Here's an instructional video on how to paint the faux finish, Brushed Suede. Brushed Suede is a Valspar product and has tiny granules in it, which gives the finish a soft, textured look.
Found this after I nearly screwed up our wall. This is, without a doubt, the most complete and honest faux sued instruction video. Thanks.
I am an artist and have worked with the Ralph Lauren suede paint. I was surprised that you rolled on the first coat! I have only done two layers of the suede both hand brushed, as well as only using the one color. A good video for those who have never done it before but you could keep it simple by just using the same color. Still gives a great effect.
Thank you for the video. I haven't done this technique in 20 years. I watched a half dozen other videos knowing right away they didn't know what they were talking about. Lol
Thanks for an EXCELLENT video. Beautiful job! I love the brushed suede look and have wanted to do it in a room for years but didn't know how to do the edges and corners. Like you so accurately pointed out in your video, everyone else does the middle of the wall. No one shows you how to do the edges and corners...until now. THANKS!! I'm definitely passing this video on.
Love these effects, really inspiring. Love how he just gets on with the job but still explains what he s aiming for. Great job.
This was the most helpful of all the things I have found on this subject!! Thanks!!!

ooohhh boy remember my old painting days!!! missing!!! great video
I used the Ralph Lauren Suede paint with the technique mentioned in this video and the result is astonished. Thank you so much for this video. I high recommend to use the Ralph Laurent Suede paint and the technique mentioned in this video. You will no regret.
This is a wonderful video!! Love it!!
man U rocked this wall...it looks beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What impressed me most was the offset roller frame. It makes so much sense. Easier on the back and less spatter.
so detailed and helpful! thank you!
Awesome! And so ironic. Took on the task of painting my new home this week to find out that 'I am NOT real good at it.' BUT the color that I used is the same color you have here and I will be going to get me some brushed suede in the morning! Thank Dear. And WHEN you said that the 1st coat does not have to perfect I said Thank You Jesus. I think you just saved reputation to my husband that wasn't so sure I could handle the painting!! After yesterday I started to believe it myself. Gr8 video!!
Thanks that was an awesome explanation!
Please do more videos! I can't wait to see what Valspar's Brilliant Metallics look like.
thank you thank you and thank you ,I too found this Vido after I f*** up a job ,you saved me ,your Vido was a step by step how to brush suede paint ,great job brother
Gorgeous couch
Thank you. Great video
Wish you could see the detail! But I'm sure it looks great!! Thsnks for posting! I'll try it in my bedroom...then for a client..im thinking in my room a dark grey overlayed with a light grey? Thanks for the knowledge! I'm a drywall master and for the last year I've been asked about painting so heck I picked up a painter (Danny) whose one of the best painters I've seen. Hes given me so much knowledge to the point my work I must say looks spectacular!
Great helpful video! Would this help hide minor imperfections in the wall? I am not great with spackle. :(
