My row passed a Doobie down like during one of their hits I took two good drags and it was almost the end of the concert I think it was Karen Evil. Could of been the middle. Was one of my earliest concerts when I saw them at the Spectrum in Philly back in 1977. They did not disappoint. It was also back in the days where you could get a contact high just by being there! 😂 Saw them again in Sacramento in the 90's at Cal Expo. That's when it was Emerson, Lake & Powell. They played well, but the energy, on stage & in the crowd, that existed the first time I saw them wasn't quite there. That seems to be common amongst the "got to make the alimony/mortgage" tours. 💸

I saw ELP in 1979. When we walked into the venue we saw two walls of JBL speakers. I’d never seen anything like this before, and we knew this was going to be an amazing event. It was to say the least.
I actually saw this but it was at the August Jam 1974 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. I was 19 and they were co headling with the Allman Brothers. MDA made us think we did not see the flying piano and the wings coming out of EMerson’s computer. It was one of the highlights of my life.
Carl Palmer is physical wonder of a drumming/percussion phenomenon. He's from the old school of Rich and Krupa and others that were the best in the business.
What we all need to recognize is how good of a lead guitar player Greg was!! Listen to the runs he plays for the opener of Karn evil no.9. I always felt he should have done more than just play the bass.

Carl plays like this today❤.
I always wondered of Keith did the misic for some of the cartoons I watched as a kid.
ELP...LA CUMBRE DEL SONIDO... AFINARON DE LA MEJOR MANERA POSIBLE MIS OIDOS...
You're a beautiful human being ❤
i'd never have inagined this could be played live, WOW
the best drum solo
INCREDIBLE BAND !!!!!!!! TALK ABOUT UNDERATED!!!!!
I saw Carl Palmer do an amazing drum solo at an Asia Omega tour concert in Montreal sometime in the 90s I think. This certainly brought that back to me.
✌️🤏🤞👆👊👍
Keith Emerson is the all-time GOAT.
I was there, it was my very first concert. I was only 15. What an amazing day. ❤
I was there 20 ft from the chain-link fence around the front of the stage Ontario speedway California it was an awesome show
This was my first concert. It was amazing.
@@oneanddone7992 Me too!
aaah, those were the days, I was 18 years old and a solid ELP fan.
I was there!! Awesome ending to an Awesome day!!!
great experience in person. i was there!
Saw them 3 years after NY MSG WNEW 10 th Anniversary. I had loge seats from ticket Tron right up on the band. Up until that concert I thought Carl Palmers tank was automatic- two guys rotating it. Carl Palmer waved to us we were that close Scott Muni, Alison Steel. My row passed a Doobie down like during one of their hits I took two good drags and it was almost the end of the concert I think it was Karen Evil. Could of been the middle. Pot was great back then. 😅
I saw this tour in Charlotte too. Also saw the "Pictures at an Exibition" tour in Denver '72
3 individual virtuosos in their category serving an unrivaled group
Carl is the man
Monster drummer
5++ minute drum solo worth the price of admission!
damn it they play all of this live in a different key than recorded. I salute Kieth Emerson for his contribution to the transpositionary arts
due to Greg Lake's voice changing, he was a heavy smoker
And Keith was very pissed about it!
Nothing like a commercial break in the middle of a Carl Palmer solo. Thanks
Carl Palmer is physical wonder of a drumming/percussion phenomenon. He's from the old school of Rich and Krupa and others that were the best in the business.
I was there!
Sin duda...Uno de los mejores solos de bateris de la His3
What we all need to recognize is how good of a lead guitar player Greg was!! Listen to the runs he plays for the opener of Karn evil no.9. I always felt he should have done more than just play the bass.
Un patrimonio della musica❤❤❤❤
