Absolument pas psyché...
(Oui, la guitare est un peu fausse. On va dire que ça rajoute un p'tit truc)

Magic...
Jersey City in New Jersey Baseball field with quad sound...this was life changing...16 yo...blotter acid...1974...Very grateful!
CP giving his all. Superhuman.
What we all need to recognize is how good of a lead guitar player Greg was!! Listen to the runs he plays for the opener of Karn evil no.9. I always felt he should have done more than just play the bass.
Carl Palmer was the Bruce Lee of drummers. They even had the same haircut !
I was there! What a great day
My deepest gratitude to ELP for such a good music and such an extraordinary group. Blessings to Keith and Greg in the Eternity and Carl , a serious, low profile and inspired drummer and best musician.
Keith's doing all that with his two hands, and yet still manages to chew gum off beat to the song.
The three album set was excellent to listen to when I was 18.
Incredible drum solo. Thanks for sharing.
aaah, those were the days, I was 18 years old and a solid ELP fan.
I saw the Karn Evil 9 tour at Madison Square Garden, I was 17 years old. As I recall it was set up for "quadraphonic" sound with huge speakers in the four corners of the arena. That was the third or fourth time I'd seen ELP. They made playing this incredible music look easy---like chewing gum.
3 individual virtuosos in their category serving an unrivaled group
IM PERFECT ARE YOU ? killallrobots
I'd love to have a record of this show ... Welcome Back was from the same year Feb., I know, but still I'd like to have this very performance
I was there 20 ft from the chain-link fence around the front of the stage Ontario speedway California it was an awesome show
Epic!!!
Deep Purple killed it!!! I have the DVD they were the show! Don't get me wrong ELP DID Great....DEEP PURPLE RULED
In Chicago 1974. My 1st concert.I was 14. My older brother took me 😂
Lucky man.
@@andrewp.schubert2417, no one has commented on this? Does no one know they recorded the song “Lucky Man?” I think it was their only real hit song.
@@sdittloff I was listening to them in high school when Tarkus came out. Great band. If you have time check out Rachel Flowers, she covers some ELP songs.
I saw that on TV - on a show called "In Concerrt."
I think the drums where more than a ton in weight made of stainless steel
Sad the Invisible Man watched impotentlly while Keith took his life. That's a cruel twist of fate. He could no longer do what he loved. Like Beetoven going deaf. Not content with that? With our hands behind our back we'll pull Jesus from a hat, get into that get into that. Come and see the show!!
i'd never have inagined this could be played live, WOW
That custom kit was all engraved by hand with exquisite hunting scenes on each drum. At one point this drum kit was in the Smithsonian Institute because it truly was a piece of art. No better musician to play it than Carl. I was not in attendance at this show, but I was in '78 when they played the Nasau Coliseum gig and I sat right in back of Carl. As a drummer, that was a lesson I never ever forgot.
This is obviously music for pookniks
that is such a great video.
Brain Salad Surgery esta en el top 3 de los albunes de ELP, en mi opinión el mejor,y este tema es una obra maestra, gracias por el video, saludos

Nothing like a commercial break in the middle of a Carl Palmer solo. Thanks
it's not just the drumming, but all 3 of them... oh my goodness what a great band!
nothing like this anymore, amazing
Saw Carl Palmer just recently do a show and he is still fantastic to watch, RIP Keith & Greg and Thank-you!!!
“Soon the gypsy queen in a glaze of Vaseline will preform the guillotine, what a scene what a scene”. What an elegant way to describe a woman giving head while being screwed in the butt.
Carl is the man Monster drummer
Wow no bass player what's up with that 😮
I keep expecting to see another musician or two, but no, all that sound is just those three 🤷🏼♂️
Carl plays like this today❤.
.... We need the musicians of today to listen to and or watch this ..... Hopefully to find an organic , analog and pure form of inspiration!!!!! And write the new rock fusion masterpieces!!!!
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGG RRRRRRRRRRRRRR EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Carl palmer et christian vander sont les seules. A pouvoir faire ce genre de chorus de batterie en concervant le groove😊 salutations distinguees a toutes et a tous ❤❤
Terrible sound.
1974
I was listening to the 3-vinyl LP "ELP Live" with my classically trained son and he turned and asked, "Who is ringing the bell in the drum solo?" We looked it up and were stunned to learn that Palmer rang the bell with his teeth. I've never seen any drummer come close. ELP forever!
Met Mr.Palmer at KZOK radio station in Seattle, great man to meet. In 1978.
It's not called ELP Live though.
@413TomaccoRoad I know. The actual name is incredibly long.
@erikdevereux4997 It's the opening line of this song plus Ladies and Gentlemen.
@413TomaccoRoad Welcome back my friend's to the show that never ends,Ladies and Gentlemen ELP
Legendary
For my money, the greatest drum solo of all time! The speed and precision is unparalleled! And with the most extensive and innovative drum kit ever! And with a single bass drum, too! SIMPLY AMAZING!!!
7:40, drum solo over
All the wires on keyboard gadgets, now done from the palm of a hand or wristwatch. Exciting times for tech development & experimenting
With every advancement of technology we lose a little bit of soul from the previous version!
Although they're called the "godfathers of prog' rock," the real difference was that they were all classically trained and brought the structures of classical music into rock, establishing a line between Beethoven, Wagner, and Grieg and rock and roll.
Actually, Emerson, not so much. “Little old lady” piano teachers were all he had, by his own admission. Lake took formal guitar lessons from the same teacher as Robert Fripp. Palmer took in some orchestral percussion lessons around the time of BSS but he had been playing professionally from the age of 14. What we have here are three exceptionally talented instrumentalists, one awfully good singer, one really good songwriter, and one composer who was off the charts.
@@hubbsllc Ah, I had one of those "little old lady" piano teachers for about 7 years. I was born about a decade after Keith Emerson, but even in those days, the LOL teachers were teachers because few orchestras would hire women. But you're correct; I should have been more specific as far as their classical background as it could be inferred that I was saying they all went to RCM or Julliard. Another point where you are correct: Even a good number of those musicians of the 1960s who were fully self-taught simply had the innate musical genius to excel. Ian Anderson taught himself flute by simply picking it up and starting to play. he once told a story of how, some 30 or so years later, his daughter--who did take lessons professionally--taught him the correct fingering of the instrument he had become such a master on!
Could of done without the drums solo
What a powerful band
The secret is chewing gum! 😁
Cocaine - not chewing gum.
