Saw them 7 times in the seventies. As a musician myself I can say by far the greatest progressive rock band ever. Shamefully the rock & roll hall of fame has not included them in there. Today's music well it just not up to that standadd
Being honest guys. I’m Scottish and saw ELP in Glasgow on the tour possibly their first? When Greg had that sexy hippy shirt on. You can catch it on you tube. I stood right in front of him at a medium sized venue open mouthed and he was laughing at me. I was astounded at 17 yrs old. I emailed him when internet started and he said he remembered me ‘ long dark hair’ but he was older than me haha. He said he remembered every gig. Still sent me another lovely sweet mail. These guys changed us. Keith so so creative,Carl a titan and Greg the melodic soft one. I’m an old woman now. They made me laugh cry and I stood there like a statue with all their energy flowing over me. You can’t forget that, ever. I’ve got a few stories of them too.
They were my first concert at 8 years old. Madison Square Garden,…. (1974) ,..In quadraphonics. Sounds from all sides. It was was mind blowing. Inspired me to play music. Thank you for this one!!!🔥🔥🔥🤘🎸✌️
I had not seen this version. It was very entertaining. Seeing Keith playing like an octopus all that music he has in his head never ceases to amaze me. To think that today you have on a Laptop what previously took up a room, modules and instruments. Without a doubt ELP and other bands from the '70s are the parents of "the thing".lol. His music has become modern classics. Keith Emerson is an amazing musician and his pieces are studied in contemporary music schools. There are hundreds of covers on UA-cam of pieces like Tarkus, or Trilogy. I recommend the cover "Trilogy" by Jad&Den Quintet. Thanks guys!
Thank you, Glenn and Adrian, for bringing part of this masterpiece to your channel. This is the most well-known video of the band performing it on stage. Your comments are certainly spot on (including Lake's ability to chew gum and sing at the same time), but there is so much that can be said about this piece and this particular performance that it's very difficult to cover most of the interesting points even halfway.
I have to agree, there's a lot to discuss in this one. If we were more interested in pausing to comment, this could have taken an hour to review. Appreciate your getting us interested in this group.
3 master musicians Palmer was a huge influence for my playing. I saw them live several times and they were amazing. How 3 guys made this kind of complex music is remarkable I saw them live several times and they were just as good. It is unfortunate that the rock and roll hall of fame has still not put these guys in. RIP Keith and Greg. Carl is still kicking ass in his 70s. They were not pretentious. They loved creating music and inspired many of today's. musicians.
Try to find the live video of Pictures at an Exhibition from them. It’s about 40 minutes long, a complete masterpiece. Only bad thing is at the end they have stupid 70s psychedelic graphics over the picture. The roll up part I believe was a nod to The Beatles
This is not their best performance or musical standard, they went all USA to please you guys, in fact I hate this. They were chasing the dollar at this point. Welcome Back my Friends is an anathema they adopted to get you guys to jump on. As Keith had plans to tour with a full orchestra which USA fans mostly financed. It’s a tough fact but true.

I've seen them all but not all at once. I'm Scottish too. There's far to few women who love ELP. I'm a bloke by the way.
Three Genious of Rock Progressive .

All three were amazing musicians!
I was THERE!! Great show by a Three piece band, each one a master of his works. Hey, isn’t that a title of another album?🎹🎸🥁
NICE.
I was there too! Emerson spinning in mid air.
The End Apotheotic of ELP after apresentantion of Deep Purple . California Jam is the show of my life . Thanks Guys ! Congratulations . 70's Era .
I saw them on this tour. What an amazing experience.
Saw them twice on this tour. Including the Anaheim concert from which the multi-disk album was made. AWESOME.
I envy you to my very soul

True Glen And Adrian, I never dived in like your vid just did…now it’s ELP homework time…

What about Keith's ability to chew gum and play keyboards, seriously underrated........
@@crimsonwizard2560 😂 🤣
I’ve seen them in the seventies 3 times. Few could match their live sound quality or live musicianship
1966~1974はビートルズの解散、ウッドストックを挟んで産まれたまさにあらゆるロック、奇跡の全盛時代だったと思うわ。
Carl on the infamous stainless steel drum kit! 😊
@dirtyburd71 BUILT BY THE BRITISH STEELE COMPANY, FITTED WITH GRETCH HOOPS ,2 1/2 TONS *☆*☆*☆*☆*☆.
Carl channeling Buddy
Why the hell was most of this concert lost, criminal !
The live version of Toccata from this is great. Like Tarkus, the studio version is super cool but the live version is the studio version on steroids.
I’ve seen some of the videos from this concert that have been heavily edited in a “bad way”. This was a better version for sure.
1st and 3rd are different videos. Where's the 2nd? Still, ELP are my favorite band!
is that a drum kit, or have the Aliens landed?

stage では乾燥しているので、EL&Pのメンバー皆がgumを噛んでいる。😊
Dr Emerson DDS
😂
It was supposed to be a surgeon’s outfit for some Brain Salad Surgery

Chill, it's ELP. Even their worst is better than any other prog rock band.
