Thank you for uploading this. Best quality video and sound of this performance that I have found on YT! By the way, Carl Palmer is still with us, thankfully. At the end it should say RIP Keith Emerson and Greg Lake. Love ELP forever!
Always loved this! In 8th grade in 1972-73 I was a huge ELP fan. In music class at school my teacher played an orchestral recording of the Mussorgsky. I told her about the ELP album, and she asked me to bring it in. She played the main songs, comparing them to the orchestral version. It was very cool, but I did worry about the cheap school record player scratching my vinyl. RIP Greg and Keith. Thank you beyond words 🙏🙏 I think it’s no coincidence that Greg contributed to two of the greatest debut rock albums ever: with King Crimson and ELP.
When I first saw this I noticed Carl watching Keith.I am imaging he always was thinking oh, boy, what’s he going to do and he was always ready for any improv Keith might come up with.
My mom loved Russian Classical music (Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsikov, Prokofiev, and Stravinsky). This was my first ELP album purchase. I could sit with mom and enjoy it together.
Capolavoro!!! E ancora attualissimo dopo 50 anni dall' esecuzione. ,🎹🎵🙃🎸🎵🙃
Thank you for the upload. ELP is #1 forever, and this one may be the best live footage about the band (apart from the useless, overcomplicated video magic in Tank).
The picture is very clear. Love the outfits and the hair. Very 70s. They made such great music. It was many kid's intro to classical music. Between Greg's voice, Keith's flying fingers, and Carl's amazing drumming, they were beautiful and talented guys. Was lucky to have seen them.
I am fairly sure this was actually recorded at Newcastle City Hall when the Live Pictures at an Exhibition album was actually being recorded. Keith's actions at the start where he sets switches on the Leslie cabinets and amp array were precisely as I remembered them of that evening. Keith, Carl, and Greg were incredible together, unfortunately they did not sustain that in much of the later ELP albums, other than perhaps Black Moon. Sadly Greg and Keith are gone - but their great music lives on ! Many thanks for posting this video!!!
@progrunner3094 ok. Ok. I will add that caveat. So far, I am pleased as punch to use it daily. For me it is always good company because it is the company I choose.
Mike would pick me up about 4 pm put this 8 track in smoke a joint country narrow roads to Clyde’s about when tape was over to get some beer to drink on the way back repeat the next day a beautiful time of life

Great story.
It's amazing the perfect synchronicity between the keyboard and the drums

Masterpiece never gets old.
😮 It's true
I saw this film at what I think was the Stand Theater in Ocean Beach back around 1975 or 74. Blew me away.
No one knows how to play like this now day's!! What a loss. R.I. P. Thanks for the memories.🏆🏆
The Sage is one of the greatest songs ever made, I want it played on my funeral

WHAT band would ever do a gig like this now or foreever?
It would have only been zappa.
And that may have been more fun
Especially in that jacket.. amazing
Only ELP. Rest in peace Greg and Keith. Best health Carl.
For real. Not like this, not with these collective chops.
Shame about the dreadful migraine 1970s spacey effects! Brilliant concert though

Carl Palmer and his lovely Noddy drum kit
Erano tre fuoriclasse assoluti !
Capolavoro...provate a spiegarlo ai bimbiminkia del 2024...
Deep Purple
