- IT'S HERE! GENIUS All-New Canoo Pickup Truck!
-----------------------------
Everyone is talking about the big, giant companies failing to make good and reliable EV trucks that can solve our problem. But Canoo is defying everything. Now, we all know that most EV makers are just not making practical trucks. They just put on cool and useless features and expect us to buy them for a very overpriced price point. We are simply not doing that, so the underdogg is here to capitalize on that. It is the clear winner and this is why. Every other company is getting beaten by this new genius truck and even Tesla is worried

I think a lot of us are waiting for a vehicle that is more barebones, unproblematic and repairable. This is an issue with the entire car industry not just EV's. So if Canoo can make an affordable vehicle, with "Right to Repair" in mind it would be fantastic. Beeing able to fix an older battery in an affordable way. Access to Knowlegde and Components for Component Level Repair. Long term support for parts. And components that are manufactured in a more rust proof way to last longterm.
Where's the profit in that? Lol
@@tallyrc they can sell the rights to the parts for third party manufacturer
This EV ticks all the boxes for me, looks really interesting
Thermal Runaway, waiting hours at a charging station, low mileage. Your on a winner there.
@@rosswoolley2854 150 KW charging was good 3 years ago but behind the times today. Is it 150 KWs for only 5 minutes or much longer into the charge cycle? Side winds will push this all over the highway unless they have a good stabilization system. How comfortable will it be? What about battery preconditioning?? Which company makes the batteries? I will never trust LG ever again. Can Canoo techs repair the battery or must it be replaced? Where are the vehicles manufactured? If not NA parts availability will be an issue. Too many unanswered questions.
I learned my lesson in buying an Ioniq 5 before I could actually test drive one. Sales reps told me incorrect information. Had I known, I would not have bought one. Don't fork over money until you have one to test drive.
I really want one of those $21k 2-door models with space behind the seats and the molle bed walls. And I already have a stick to clean the windshield so far away from the seats. ;) It could be everything I want. Build and toss a $500-$1k foamie camper on the back and live in it for a few days on a trip. Take it off and haul stuff for self and friends. Lay it out and carry plywood sheets for a shed. The room behind the seats is enough for my 3 bags of groceries each week. Add a few solar panels and recharge it at home. Love it.
If you want to see them succeed, buy stock, place a preorder, and be patient.
Just picked up over 10,000 shares @ .14 cents a share. Lets go.....
Lowest price in last 3 months is $1.30
Watching. So far they seem to be undercapitalized. I hope this changes, there is room for them in the marketplace.
If only they can ever build them.
I’ve been following this truck from when it was announced several years ago. I’d love to get the off road capable version with racks, tie downs, etc. maybe even a recovery winch.
The only HUGE problem i see in this vehicle, is when politicians see their milk cow (Taxes from fuel sales) dwindling, charging vehicle (Electric power) or registration hit sky high ( say 5,000 a year to register it) and in California's case, perform emission on the batteries..... they will figure how to do such travesty.... Don't believe me, lets talk, 15 years from now....
The registration will be higher. Texas is charging an initial registration fee of $400 and after that a $200 annual registration fee. Ice vehicles are $50.75. $200 is no where close to $5,000. I’m not concerned.
$40K for a tiny EV van from an unknown manufacturer, with zero track record. The DoA factor is the 200-mile range.
And non existent charging network
New government ev vehicle companies duh.
Yah but races a horse !
its 21k the thumbnail says
Looks fun, but as discovered, starting a new car company is extremely capital intensive and manufacturing is hard. They have good manufacturing partners, at least, i just hope they have the materials secured to produce the orders.
I’m sure they thought about these things.
I put down a deposit and my neck is stretched so long looking out for it. And I see them going to big corporations
Same... I put up money in 2020 for a pickup that was supposed to ship the following year. They never created any consumer products and have been trying to land corporate fleet deals for delivery vans ever since. Get out and get your refund while you can!
Japanese car makers have been making forward control "trucks" this shape since the 60s, and VW first made the type 2 truck in the 1950s, it's just a reimagining of those trucks with EV power for this century.
I Never wait to charge my EV, it charges at home when I'm not using it, that's something non EV drivers need to realize.
I think about that quite a lot actually. The problem is I am home during peak hours for my state. I can't imagine how fiendishly expensive it would be to charge a car sized appliance at that time. It looks like I need to buy my solar array first, then the car.
Yes for you it makes sense but not everyone is in your situation and has different obstacles so that’s why they are non ev and ev people relax buddy
Wat EV drivers need to understand is the grid in ALL nations cant handle TOO many EV'S and it takes upto 12hrs and more to charge at ur home, wat u gonna do in emergencies? for us 5mins at service station and boom 300+ mile tank. ever seen a cyber truck in snow😂😂😂
@@L0stEngineer Yup, nobody ever considers every penny saved on fuel goes right to the electric bill.
How to tell people you never go on long trips!!
Yes, I am sure Tesla is shaking in fear.
Reminds me of my Honda Element which has 418,000 daily driver miles. Exciting times for the industry.
On the brink of bankruptcy due to not delivering any vehicles. 22 vehicles delivered late as of 2023
A lot of automakers have promised 500 miles per charge but have not produced what was promised and also price range of end product so we the consumers will have to wait and see.
An electric truck going through water. I think I'll sit back and watch this one for a while.
You do realize that all trucks have an electric system right?
@@ConcreteLand Not only that but every EV on the road is designed to and expected to drive in the rain eh?
And boats...
Someone always makes a statement like this but it’s from a very uninformed perspective. Engineers have been designing electronic devices that are waterproof well in excess of operating requirements for decades.
Will know what I think when I get to see it up close and personal...Will be intrigued to see if the actual vehicles live up to (or exceed) the hype.
looks lovely!! would want to have one if cost and usage fulfill the requirements.
4x6 ft bed is already bigger than the maverick.
After the 50% price increase of the cybertruck, I cancelled that. I really want a van anyway. Let's see if canoo ever ships.
Hopefully it cost less than the VW Buzz.
I already have my order in. Hoping to be and early delivery! It can replace my Ford Lightning!
"The seats and the steering wheel have a specific purpose."
Yeah, you've got to put your hands and bum somewhere.😂
Finally, a replacement for my Honda Element.
This better come to America or I’ll be PISSED!
I wanna chill in it and watch my GOEV stock 😂🤑
i own evgo stock. i really want one, and i hope they get to the point of sale soone.
I love the canoo conceptually and visually.. I hope it's the American version of Toyotas new imv0.. solid transportation with limitless upgradability..
I pre ordered one. I think the time of the luxury truck has passed for the most part. I would be very interested in a small petro engine truck as well.
I'm guessing the Army would plan on only using these on US bases with EV infrastructure. I don't see any real tactical benefit to using these anywhere near the battlefield. Limited Range, long down time after each use, completely unusable in cold weather, a single hit will probably turn it into an inferno.
Looks like the only thing it's missing is a couple of paddles. What good is a canoo without paddles? I'm saving my money for one.
I wanted to be all in on a truck and with my cybertruck reservation and foundation series being tested by UA-camrs… it’s not living up to the hype or what was promised. Now I’m rethinking my truck purchase and I’m hoping this won’t be a bust.
A reservation is not the same as an actual purchase ... talk about a fanboi.
Put a bench seat in the Canoo so three people can fit if need. Also it's good the bed is six feet. All the new small pickups like the Maverick have way too small of a bed. Basically usless.
It must have additional seating in the large cab space, as most users will need that.
I really like this truck Canoo hopefully the price will be in the 30 or 40s and the range is around 500 at least that would be best. Still ole school tho.
Love to see that one 35s and winch pampers
The only issue for me is the range, make an extended range of over 300 miles (preferably 350+ miles) and I'm buying one.
For this to work I’d think we need EV to be replaceable batteries meaning a pack of batteries is charging while you’re going to work and swap out to a full battery pack when you get home. I think is the only way at the moment. Because a battery don’t like to be fully charged fast and the people that’s driving them don’t like to wait to get them charged. Treat EV cars like you treat your old RC cars when you were a kid just a bigger version of
I see a Big Problem here. It's Infrastructure and it's a EV!
If the price is $21,000, it will be a huge hit.
Lots of hot air about pricing. $21,000? Most unlikely and other video's talk up in the $40/50 range.
At DOUBLE that fake price, its qualities are yet to be seen. Good luck!
Love it! Where will it be built?
Oklahoma if they ever get a factory built.
Is this a REAL truck based on a truck frame or a truck based on a car frame? What is the hauling weight?
Winter. Done.
You now have a boat anchor for half the year in the mid-west.
Hello, Is the Canoo company going to adopt the 48 volt system that Tesla uses on their Cybertruck?
Where are they getting a range of 500 miles? Canoo's own website says 200+. There is no way possible to get this cost down to 21K. Heck an Arcimoto FUV costs just under that. I LOVE the design but we need to be realistic with price and expectations. I would buy one if it can land around 50K, can use the Tesla charging network from the start, and has 250-ish miles of range. I currently have two Model Ys and will likely never buy another gas car again. The wife thinks the Cybertruck is too ugly though.
Also very glad I sold my GOEV stock when it was around $2.50. This morning (1/23/24) it is worth 18.6 cents/share. Running the risk of being delisted from the market at this point.
I really like this truck. I can't wait for it to hit the market.
I thought they came out and say they were going to be a manufacturer that doesn’t sell but just leases or vehicles
Awesome to drive in the northern states of Canada, preferably in the winter...
very cool
Question: I want to run a "Tombstone" type arc welder at least 90 Amps at 240Ac off this truck... Is that doable???
Just buy a generator why blow up the electrical on a car
If there's not a hydrogen powered version in parallel development, this won't last long in the market. Even Musk said EVs are a stop-gap measure until hydrogen is ready for widespread commercial deployment.
Hydrogen vehicles are dead for at least 50 years. More expensive to power than a gas vehicle.
Canoo makes Cybertruck, F150 & Silverado look featureless.
Cool design, but Canoo is in deep financial distress and lacks production system and supply chain necessary to make and deliver these trucks profitably
Take the ev part out, install a ICE, or hybrid drive train, then it will be it relevant.
Really? Not enough pickups out there? And a hybrid is silly, two power systems to maintain?
There needs to be a 4-door model that what the people want
When can I buy one in Canada?
Love the vehicles & the military & public seems to also... So why does the stock just keeps dropping 🤔 under $1.00 now⁉️
Down to 0.16c. Time to hop on.
And if they were that price with that mileage, I would buy five of them
Modular batteries? The army want to be able to pull batteries and repurpose if needed.
I love this EV but it probably won't be coming to Australia.
Drive by wire.....George...look out for that tree
You have no idea what that means, do you?
Come back when it has a V 6 !!!
Prototypes and limited production is easy compared to manufacturing at scale.
I need the basic model for my fleet of pest control trucks .
Nothing genius about a dead-on-arrival battery-powered Tonka toy.
I like it, too bad I can't get it in gasoline or diesel power.
Towing capacity?
How do you get one
TATA Ace,small pick up,built in India,petrol,diesel,or EV.Just what's needed by many,and a fraction of the CANOO price.
Unknown company, working on this for years. No range as stated on their website. Not going to survive. Look at Ford Lightning, they are not selling and already getting discounted to try and move what's on the dealer lots.
The EV world will suffer until someone breaks the 500 mile barrier. And $21,000 ?
Who are you trying to kid ?
Latest value is .30 cents per share. Not looking good.
let's hear some real news. Kia is going to take the cake if Canoo doesn't hustle
It s basically the european approach to pick up trucks. Just have a look at a "VW T3 doppelkabine pritsche"
i like it
Will we see it in Europe?
Vehicle prices are on the rise. The USA market is suffering because they do not understand that most Americans are on a fixed budget. Other counties have made EVs so affordable that everyone is able to purchase one. My message to all the EV manufactures is: Learn from FORD's mistake.... make it affordable.
Love this truck. Wanna own one NOW!
But the Ford Maverick, was a small car.
I would buy it if it was a hybrid
Promises from yet another startup with failing stocks. Not for retail so it's vaporware.
Give it solid axles front and rear and a diesel engine and you have a winner!
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Talk is cheap. It takes money to buy whiskey. I'm still watching my fingernails grow while waiting for these wonderful vehicles to roll of the assembly line.
A wise man once said...Don't believe anything you hear and half of what you see. We will see.
SUPPORT CANOO AMERICA!!!!
Be patient with this podcast because they speak through the very end see if they speak as the canoe has the technology Tesla has technology is like spaceship stuff self-driving and this and that they can turn around all they want about the cannot compete. How many big canoes can I put
Nice but won't be available for another 10 years.
Where is this vaporware? Talk is cheap! We need the trucks!
They just talk...
Okay... so we presently have EVs burning up right, left, and center. If this thing is also off-road capable, I would think that just opens up more room for yet another burndown. Drive it in the water and expect a burndown. High center in a ravine, and expect a burndown. Etc... also, fifty grand is just TOO much! Toyota is planning on a pickup for one fifth of the price! So far so good. However I'll likely not be buying one.
What’s a “Tezler” ?
I wish it had an engine.
During intro: Tesla Worried
2 min later: Can use Tesla super chargers
Really?!?
How many channels this guy have?
youtube search: IT’S HERE! GENUIS All-Electric Canoo Pick-Up Truck
Show me the contract with the us army.😊
So it's not here then is it....
It's like 50k...
maybe someday ....
I really love this company. However they are going broke! They have less than 40 million dollars. They're IPO set stock at 10.00$ it is now worth .17 cents. They have delivered about 50 vans and don't even have a factory setup.
Hmm not very unbiased. Will be interesting to get a honest review of this truck.
So far, then Canoo is just vaporware. I like the pickup. But I seriously doubt we will see a production version actually become available. And if it does, its price will be $60-100k, not $21k. And this is just a re release of previous marketing presentations. Nothing new here. To bad.
Canoo is a concept car maker, not a real car maker. Stock lost 90% of value in about 2 years. They need to get a production line and some funding and prove that they can survive or they'll be bankrupt in 9months. Market cap 160million (not billion).
