Thanks! Great post, and helpful as always. Absolutely you are my go to for explanations, every time, without fail. That being said, I have a suggestion/request. PLEASE do an entire video on how damage works. I watched your damage types, and that was great! I watched a "how it works" from someone called Semtexagon and ... to say it was all over the place is an understatement. I dont say this to undermine one of your fellow content creators. I'm sure those who love his delivery were able to understand and get great information. I'm simply saying that for me, I felt perhaps dumber on the subject, after I watched the video. You always seem to put things in a clear, understandable manner, with recommendations being brief and extremely tonthe point, at the right time. Again, the "damage types" video is like a Bible to me. I want to be able to mod, effectively, myself, without ever looking at "overframe" or some other mod suggestion site. I am SURE many others do as well. The only way to do that, is to know what..exactly...our mods are doing. And..to know that...we need to know how damage works. The only thing I got out of the Semtexagon video was that mod slots apparently have an order. Anyway...I would be absolutely overjoyed if you did this Kengineer. And...again..thanks.
so theirs a weird build you can do on hildryn that revolves around her ae4gis storm, its probably not amazing but basically, you swap out pillage for something, i haven't tried this yet but I'm hoping to put gloom in here, as it is one of the only helminth abilities, as far as I'm aware, that is a case once, drain effect, meaning, you may be able to cast gloom and then start flying, while the ability is active, although, this functionality will need to be tested for the mods you run adaptation, redirection, augur reach, primed continuity, fleeting expertise, balefire surge stretch, and borealis hatred, aerodynamic and aviator for aura and exilus, for arcane you run arcane aegis and arcane barrier, you may also choose to swap out some range mods for extra damage if you wish, with this setup you take advantage of the permenant damage resistance form aerodynamic, and aviator, paired with adaptation, your shields take barely any damage at all, the arcane mods + balefire surge will then recharge your shields, letting your fly indefinitely, making for a pretty weird defensive support build 175% efficiency + primed continuity, gets your shield drain from abilities down to laughably low numbers 6.58 shields per second this is certainly not the best build on hildryn, just stacking a bunch of strength + elemental ward, will get your team mates shields up to 2-3k depending on your team setup high strength is bad for players who are shield gating however, so you can also go the other way, running overextended (to reduce shields given), brief respite (for ally shield regen), and voracious metastasis (for energy regen), as long as your allies are running the decaying dragon key you can buff their shield gating ability by quite allot, and reduce their requirements to be able to shield gate in the first place, and as you know, allies will also get the extra invulnerability time when their shields break, making hildryns the best support character, to make shield gating easier, less requirement for coaction drift, augur mods etc, or even running less brief respite mods, this will however, remove most of hildryns armor stripping ability in favor of keeping the team alive
After the various ember world on fire changes I swapped in Hildryn for the built and so it has been ever since. She does everything my ember used to while also having effectively unlimited energy (also makes her a great railjack pilot as long as you can resist chain spamming abilities). Downside being j never got on with her 1 or 4 so no matter how I run her one ability always remains useless to me.
Electric Elemental Ward is I think Hildryns best build for most content. Run entirely different warframe for infested -- all hoops/sacrifice to just be passible at infested is not worth it. Any non infested mission Electric ward constant proccing of hildryn's own casts / drain dealing electric damage against full stripped enemies is easy street.
One thing of note worth mentioning is that if an enemy has both Shields *and* armour, you'll need to fully deplete their shields before the armour strip will take effect. Since Pillage only takes a percentage of *current* shields, instead of maximum, its usually easier to break them with weapons first. Unless you need the Shield recovery for yourself, that is. Haven's extended Shield Gate also persists on allies until it is used, so if you're low on shields (and cant pillage them back for whatever reason) you can tap Haven on and off again to give your allies the extra buffer without expending much at all. And now, the obligatory Helminth suggestions: Electric Elemental Ward has some fun synergy. Not only does it boost your shield capacity for its duration (the amount being affected by strength), but it also returns incoming damage as lightning bolts. A niche quirk to this is that casting *any* of Hildryn's abilities will create this effect, as the shield cost is treated like damage for Ward, allowing you to zap nearby enemies for moderate damage. This probably won't kill Steel Path enemies, but it can be used to complete Grendel's Locator missions with ease. Speaking of Grendel, if you want to go the Support Hildryn route but dont want to dedicate an entire ability to just your allies, you could use Nourish instead. It amplifies *all* energy gains for allies affected (and also increases the shields Hildryn gets from energy orbs), while also giving you and your allies bonus viral damage and retaliation explosions when taking damage, all affected by strength.
Does anyone know if the amount of shields recharged from picking up energy orbs in her 4 is affected by the yellow shard effect for energy orbs effectiveness?
For pillage I just have all the high strength mods plus using the shards because I hate casting it twice because of shield of enemies it can never remove it

As someone who "mains" Hildryn (my most used frame by a large margin) I can safely say that all of your builds are, unfortunately, weak. I mean sure they do work but Hildryn is capable of much much more. My go to setup for her, that I've been tinkering with and using for years is as follows: Aura: R2 Combat Discipline Exilus: Primed Sure Footed Both Balefire Surge and Blazing Pillage augments Redirection, Blind Rage, Transient Fortitude, Umbral Intensify, Stretch and Overextended. Arcanes: Avenger and Velocity Balfeire Charger: Primed Expel (depends on the faction), Galvanized Diffusion, Primed Target Cracker, Lethal Torrent Pathogen Rounds, Jolt, Primed Heated Charge, Galvanized Shot (replace Jolt with Frostbite to get Viral + Electricity against Corpus, replace Jolt with Pistol Pestilence and Pathogen Rounds with Convulsion to form Gas + Electricity against Infested) Helminth: Replace her 4th with Mag's Pull 2 Amber Archon Shards to replace Natural Talent, 2 Azure for either additional Shield capacity or Health regen to counter the drain on Combat Discipline for maximum comfiness. I also run 1 Crimson for additional 10% Power Strength. I usually run Vazarin as my main focus school for that added survivability but its a personal preference. For more utility I also run Furax Wraith with Amalgam Furax Body Count that gives even more fire rate and I used to also use Cedo to spread status but I found it unnecessary due to everything dying as is. If you want to be extra sweaty you can also run a kitgun with Pax Bolt to snapshot extra Ability Efficiency and Strength. For my companion I don't remember why (probably fashionframe reasons) but I run with Taxon that has Molecular Conversion, Fired Up and Guardian with Riven'd up Verglas - and boy does this little guy can pump out some damage. But it really doesn't matter what companion you run. This build supercharges her Balefire to do stupendous amounts of damage and massive CC that is capable of locking down entire rooms. Steel Path becomes a breeze.

Against Infested, it's also always worth running Silence, as it stops Ospreys from using their toxin cloud, and Toxic Ancients from throwing their grapple wire, even through overguard.
Wdym? Her overshield stops toxin dmg why do even need it?
@@turkeykent3719 it's more for SP where the overshields won't save you from multiple grapple hooks or the dreaded osprey cloud.
Always love your videos and perfect timing
Question: Does Cascadia Flare benefit your Balefire? I know it does for Titania's Dex Pixia, and if it does then keeping a secondary "stick" with the arcane can be a good way to boost the damage of the Balefires
I didn't know that about Titania! Cascadia flare does extra heat damage, I can't remember. Anyway that would be awesome on Hildryn
@@Wooskii1 if it affects secondary weapons, it probably is busted on the Dex Pixia. It's got some very busted builds.
No Cascadia flare does not effect exalted secondary no secondary specific arcane effect them they can be trigger but no effect like dmg from flare or crit chance from overcharged
@@noahedenborg4221 Ah okay, that explains the weirdness I was experiencing when using it. I thought it was from multishot, but a UI bug explains it better.
And...again..thanks.
so theirs a weird build you can do on hildryn that revolves around her ae4gis storm, its probably not amazing but basically, you swap out pillage for something, i haven't tried this yet but I'm hoping to put gloom in here, as it is one of the only helminth abilities, as far as I'm aware, that is a case once, drain effect, meaning, you may be able to cast gloom and then start flying, while the ability is active, although, this functionality will need to be tested
for the mods you run adaptation, redirection, augur reach, primed continuity, fleeting expertise, balefire surge stretch, and borealis hatred, aerodynamic and aviator for aura and exilus, for arcane you run arcane aegis and arcane barrier, you may also choose to swap out some range mods for extra damage if you wish,
with this setup you take advantage of the permenant damage resistance form aerodynamic, and aviator, paired with adaptation, your shields take barely any damage at all, the arcane mods + balefire surge will then recharge your shields, letting your fly indefinitely, making for a pretty weird defensive support build
175% efficiency + primed continuity, gets your shield drain from abilities down to laughably low numbers 6.58 shields per second
this is certainly not the best build on hildryn, just stacking a bunch of strength + elemental ward, will get your team mates shields up to 2-3k depending on your team setup
high strength is bad for players who are shield gating however, so you can also go the other way, running overextended (to reduce shields given), brief respite (for ally shield regen), and voracious metastasis (for energy regen), as long as your allies are running the decaying dragon key you can buff their shield gating ability by quite allot, and reduce their requirements to be able to shield gate in the first place, and as you know, allies will also get the extra invulnerability time when their shields break, making hildryns the best support character, to make shield gating easier, less requirement for coaction drift, augur mods etc, or even running less brief respite mods, this will however, remove most of hildryns armor stripping ability in favor of keeping the team alive
not going to use her but this does help me understand how the hildryn players do their things
Was looking for info on Aegis Gale. Didn't realize it was just released on Oct 2024. I feel like it makes Hildryn so OP :)
And now, the obligatory Helminth suggestions:
Electric Elemental Ward has some fun synergy.
Wouldn't be a warframe video without making fun of inaros
He deserves a rework so badly. Iove the Egyptian/Mummy theme of him and the sutpid high HO he can reach, bit that's it. He just big walking HP bar
Inaros4Life
I run wisps helminth on hildryn and with the pillage augment she nukes steel path with just abilities.
vazarin focus school 1st ability 2nd buff is for shield recharge which hildryn benefits a lot.
For pillage I just have all the high strength mods plus using the shards because I hate casting it twice because of shield of enemies it can never remove it
Hildryn is so flipping good. with the combination of augments and Helmith. she can do basically everything.
same goes to every warframe some jsut do them better
Hyldrin…. high strength and shield mods…. Strength shards…. Adaptation…. THEN ADD PARASITIC ARMOR TO RUIN THE BUILD!
Hey bro great video as always. If you have time you could make the Felarx guide I have some good build I want to understand the weapon more and get a better idea to build up on.
Something I noticed. Why not use a rank 4 Stretch instead of Augur Reach???
ahh I missed the ol days while running orphix with a max str hildryn
As someone who "mains" Hildryn (my most used frame by a large margin) I can safely say that all of your builds are, unfortunately, weak. I mean sure they do work but Hildryn is capable of much much more. My go to setup for her, that I've been tinkering with and using for years is as follows:
Aura: R2 Combat Discipline Exilus: Primed Sure Footed
Both Balefire Surge and Blazing Pillage augments
Redirection, Blind Rage, Transient Fortitude, Umbral Intensify, Stretch and Overextended.
Arcanes: Avenger and Velocity
Balfeire Charger:
Primed Expel (depends on the faction), Galvanized Diffusion, Primed Target Cracker, Lethal Torrent
Pathogen Rounds, Jolt, Primed Heated Charge, Galvanized Shot
(replace Jolt with Frostbite to get Viral + Electricity against Corpus, replace Jolt with Pistol Pestilence and Pathogen Rounds with Convulsion to form Gas + Electricity against Infested)
Helminth: Replace her 4th with Mag's Pull
2 Amber Archon Shards to replace Natural Talent, 2 Azure for either additional Shield capacity or Health regen to counter the drain on Combat Discipline for maximum comfiness.
Why would you use Combat Discipline?
@@Moonwizard420 To trigger Arcane Avenger
Good idea about the furax amalgam mod with balefire, thanks.
This is amazing, thanks
Hey. If i didnt miss in the video, you didnt go over which weapons to use on Hildryn. I assume weapons are irrelevant then? I'm new to warframe. Sorry if it's a lame qustion. :D
"you need 4 formas"
laughs on 11 forma hildryn.
but thanks for clarifying what aegis does, i never understood what it did, looks similar to what vazarin shell does.
Why did you waste a forma?
@@Moonwizard420 i changed from aggressive killer to support role , so i change a lot of polarities around, i played alot with friends, so we could form a party with dps healer and tank/support.
playing as hildrying with haven, rejuvenation aura, voracious, keeping allies alive and with uptime, can be fun on its own.
I think about teammates, so I have repleaced 4 with Voracious Metastasis. Kind of a free energy bank for them :D
Hildryn with Elemental Ward, Hildryn with Roar, Hildryn with Fractured Blast, Hildryn with Thermal Sunder, mmm Hildryn with Sentient Wrath?! Oh Hildryn... Gloom? You saucy minx! (Rolls off bed with Hildryn body pillow.)
hildryn is like sevagoth mainly gotten for the helmith ability both are good but if hildryn andher abilitys got some changes she wouldnt jsut be pillage
for sevagoth they could jsut not have gloom be helmith and hes good
Are there any good Aegis Storm builds?
A shame they didnt buff her aegis storm
"Requires 400% Strength"
So what you're saying is, Hildryn with an Invigoration and/or with a Strength buff during Arbitrations/Archon Sortie can be a true menace
I gave my hildryn gloom ...... Named her Gloomolga ...... Works really good in the new citrine defense
I actually don't really like having people run slows there. Less currency spawning
@@victorraymond3420 really ? Gotta test that out
@@rolandkoch3894 From what I know it's not too bad as long as there aren't like multiple people all slowing. My fix was just to reduce the range a decent bit so I could just focus on a small group. Thanks for the idea with Hildryn!
@@victorraymond3420 put it instead of her balefire didn't enjoy it at all .....
An idea on Larkspur Prime and a build?
Same like normal was barely an upgrade even
Yeah hildryn as a warframe shes good depending o your play style to whixh i dont really see her as a necessity but tobjust use max rank and helminth pretty much
I feel like there will be some changes with her and u would need to make a follow up vid 😂
DE aren't currently reworking frames, and Hildryn is already plenty strong.
@@Joe90h not rework just QOL buff like how they buffed garuda and revenant. Also she aint that strong, her 2 25% is literal dog shiet compare to tharros strike that does the same thing with 50% and doesnt need LOS and u also need to waste a mod slot for aug if u wanna play in any infested maps, her 1 and 4 is also dog shiet, she has cc cleanse but no anti cc so u still need to use psf or poise. As u can tell she has glaring issues not “plenty strong” at all
Pretty sure you can use balefire during aegis storm...
Hildryn TMRW!!!!
Gun CO works on Balefire? I assumed it didn't because of the AOE...
Direct hits yes the aoe no
So many people dunk on her hovercraft but is is my favorite part lol 😅
Dangerous to put augur mods in your build, it can cause your shieldgate to be 1.3 instead of 3 seconds. I advice to mention this at the very least since this has been the one big problem thay has bugged hyldrin from using those mods.
The augar mods don't trigger with hildryn the fuck you smoking
No high praise for blazing pillage's kill potential, no mention of electric ward being tailor made for hildy, or archon vitality being a great option. 5/10 Warframe review.
Go make your own🙄
Your making me wanna get amprex lol
Aww no Archon Vitality in any build :(
Just put gloom and pillage aug mod. Hildryn can survive, except infestation. Because they dont have armor or shield.
honestly I'm gonna be that guy and say Hildryn needs to be tweaked badly but not reworked because she doesn't need a full rework like Inaros does but right now I honestly lump her in with Yareli as one of the more useless frames now
her 1 is actually pretty bad and honestly from what I've seen more people just use her 2 and 3 over everything else and her 4 is pretty bad all around for energy orb drops compared to other frames like Mag or Khora when running Spectrorage with the augment or other loot frames and that's not factoring in that her 2 doesn't regen shields while her 4 is active
honestly the only tweaks I would do is give her 1 a little bit of an aoe projectile like the plasmor because as it is now it's pretty mediocre and her 4 should just remove the gimmick of floating altogether and make her a mobile CC unit like say Sevagoth with Gloom and make it to where her 4 doesn't block use of her 2 given that's the biggest issue with her kit
She really need a rework on her 1 and 4 ability
Her balefire is solid though hopefully they buff the crit chance when her prime is out
The 400 Ability power is still needed for 1 use pillage for shields as Corrosive Projection has no effect on shields.
You can also subsume chroma's first. Put on the electric one and watch your shields go up. Also, that plus your three can make allies gain funny amounts of shields
2nd you mean
@@noahedenborg4221 hildryn s third gives allies shields and overshields, although her second also cleanses any status so there's also that for support
I never bothered to farm Hildryn because the thermia farm is so mind numbingly boring I'd rather just do literally anything else
Dude why did you call out the Hildryn interaction with Voracious Metastasis. You gonna get that killed.
We don't give a FUCK
no views, gonna get hildyrn 1st
It's only hard if you don't actually play the game. Seriously. Just play it. I ended up with 2 complete ones just playing the game, well I made 1, played it years ago and needed like Neuroptics for the second one after coming back from a 3 year Hiatus for the Helminth system. A lot of people still run her outside of the Thermia Fractures event that happens every 2 weeks now.
