I use combat discipline on mine, since it triggers nourish viral at like 400% with breach surge. This also triggers arcane avenger consistently… often nourish + breach surge ALONE can kill in sorties without ever needing to shoot. Just hit something with a melee and nuke what’s around you.
Fused Reservoirs is not only a QoL augment, it's also a efficiency bonus. At max rank, the cost doubles, so you effectively place three reservoirs, for the price of two, in the same time as one. It's a base 25 energy ability, so it's not that impactful and there are situations where you might not want a mote type out, but it's certainly a nice Exilus mod
Wow, I saved 25 energy in the first 5 mins of this hour long survival. This mod was so much more helpful than 15% ability stremgth from Power Drift, or Primed Sure Footed. (Sarcasm)
Or third option, if you're doing steel path taking Pillage as your subsume you're quickly able to hit the 400 power strength for full armor/shield strip while also replenishing your shields to max without breif respite, allowing you to run growing power or Combat discipline (which synergizes well with archon intensify and an aoe weapon like glaive prime) also running Arcane grace instead of avenger is great for tanking, as replenishing %max hp when you get hit lets you health tank better then nidus
I put Energy Conversion and Protea's dispenser on Wisp. But Nourish and Archon stretch is a really good idea too and you don't have to be locked into one place as much.
@@maximilianherrmann1430 Yeah, I tried that one for a bit but... it's slow to cast and kind of a pain. Dispenser is giving everyone energy and ammo. Including archgun ammo! Nothing like a speed boosted Kuva Grattler with infinite ammo to clear the room!
@@EricLinstone your idea is certainly a good one too. I will try it. Normally I cast empower, trigger molt vigor and sling strength. Then I cast fused reservoirs.
I admittedly sacrificed range for a little more duration and maximized strength. Right now, with one less tauforged crimson than I'd like, I'm rocking 408% str out the gate. And since I adore Glaive Prime above all else, using Nurish and the Motes exclusively since Breach doesn't have enough range to be super useful, it works fine. Going survival relic runs and getting the 2x str buff after hitting max Molt means I either am almost at or slightly above 1000% str so the motes get absolutely hilariously fun for a full squad. No regrets.
Parasitic Armor is also a good option for improving durability. It's still health-tanking, but with even a small amount of shields the Ability Strength of the shield conversion gives A LOT of armor.
Wisp does not need to tank. Apart from the obvious "jump to not die" passive, her 2 gives full invis and 3s of full invulnerability on teleport, so with proper anti-knockdown measures she will stay alive in the most punishing situation. Well, if the situation called for her to tank, that is. She shouldn't tank in the first place.
Good coverage of the abilities Wisp is one of the few frames in the game that dont need shield gating even up to level cap, with 3 blue archon shards for armor and good utilization of your passive you can easily tank it. The thing I wanted to mention, that I think is important, is that wisp's first melee attack against an enemy that hasnt spotted her will grant an extra 700% dmg boost through the stealth multiplier, pair it with any thrown melee weapon like a glaive or a zaw with contagion and you have one of the hardest single hitting attacks in the entire game
I put 3 Umbra Forma in mine because she's worth it. Sure, I'm doubling down on the face tanking, but it's working so far! I only die when I'm bullied into a corner and try to fight my way out instead of just casting her 2 and her 3 in succession.
i usually suggest avoiding that cause in specific set ups like camping SP survivals, disruption, and especially high end arbitration farms using all 3 umbral mods is pretty lack luster to do since most of the time she wont rely on armor for tanking in endurance content but then is already tanky enough from motes, and if you really want a substantial amount of armor without using a mod slot and having to use umbral forma then theres Arcane Guardian would is just overall way better than even umbral fiber with the other 2 umbral mods
@@Vegeta-rm1tx still pretty unoptimal for SP survival and arbitration farms since it usually yields lower strength and thats the main thing you always want str as high as possible or go with a great amount of str with some range for breach surge and giving buffs like nourish or roar. However slapping on 3 umbra forma is a big flex
My wisp build has a bit less strength, more efficiency and subsumed ensnare. I cast breach surge on the enemies grouped by ensnare to basically delete them with glaive prime. And because glaive prime is a melee weapon and it's throw animation suspends you in the air it's super easy to stay invisible constantly.
You don't really need bs with glaive prime, the weapon already os pretty much everything. Ensnare with enough range can e good tho, even if I feel glaive doesn't need help from anything to delete every enemy in sight
I personally refuse to ignore Sol Gate, and my entire build is dedicated to getting up to as much strength as possible (800+%). I wouldn’t recommend doing this, but it is pretty funny.
@@ivyroux4528 you are incorrect. With blind rage (and, therefore, 45% efficiency) blind rage should cost you 117~ energy to cast all 3 motes. With blind rage AND Fused Res, all 3 motes cost 78~ energy. The difference between those numbers is 39 energy, almost exactly what I said.
Just don't place shock motes, they are not useful the majority of the time. Why spend 2x the energy when most missions only need a Haste mote? It also means you can place 4 individual motes wherever you want instead of only 2 sets of 3, which is very helpful for missions like interception.
I just put blue shards on her, now she has almost 1000 armor, then i go pure power, some duration, negative range (I do have archon stretch) and efficiancy
Couldn't arcane guardian be used instead of avenger gor survivability on the main build? If gives the armour you need for facetanking and for once isn't outclassed by grace
While that sounds like a plan, I'm finding Nourish is everywhere in Steel Path now. I can't count the number of times I've tried to cast it recently and had the energy refunded.
Sounds llike a good idea since Volt is all electric, keeps your energy high enough to continue recasting everything in your setup Don't know why Terrify though, so I'm probably not a viable opinion lol
@@Joe90h easiest in terms of the strength requirement, hardest in terms of keeping the newly stripped enemies around in order to kill them Also the hardest in terms of getting the frame as a newer player. I love the way my Wisp Prime looks with a Syandana. I use the Solstice Kuva Cloak. Also I think I prefer a build with 3 umbral forma. I had a good build with archon intensify, but I think I prefer my umbral build after trying both. Health tanking is just ease of use for normal Steel Path and below. Though the other build could scale higher as you have a few mod slots open for shield gating focused mods. Archon Stretch, fused reservoirs, primed continuity, blind rage, and transient fortitude are all "must haves" IMO. The rest is up to preference. Unless you're specializing into strength or duration range, those must haves synergize well with her entire kit.
Wisp has a low armor stat, so Umbral Fiber does very little for her. Vitality also isn't doing a whole lot given she gives herself increased max health already. That means either slotting one or two mods that don't do a lot just to buff up Umbral Intensify, or use a less effective mod than Archon Intensify. Not worth it in my opinion.
As someone who has a full Umbra Wisp build, I agree with TheKengineer that doing so probably isn't the most efficient build for Wisp. I've basically thrown out flexibility/adaptability for a slightly higher top end on my buffs (77% from Umbral Intensify vs. the 60% from Archon Intensify). I'm happy with my choice, and it fits my playstyle, but I certainly wouldn't fault anyone for taking an Archon build approach instead. Archon builds offer greater flexibility and utility based on what I've seen.
3:20 are they random? Because on xbox i see people laying down all 3 in one go, Yet it takes me over 6 plus each time just to get 2 different ones none less all 3. Oh its fused eh?
@@noahedenborg4221 It was my first time using whisp prime like the first day, i figured it out after i made the comment. I didn't bother ever playing her since ive been back until i got the prime version now shes pretty much who i play most of the time.
Maybe somebody might know the answer to this. My whisprime on the PS5 is completely maxed out. When I active any of the motes she flips over and does nothing. None of the motes show. My specter does it just fine. I even have the mod card fuel reservoir installed thinking that might be part of the problem of not having it. All this did was at the fourth reservoir. I can't find anybody else that has this problem.
Nourish has more going on than just a damage buff though. It has energy regen boost to synergize with Zenurik and Archon Stretch. It has outgoing viral procs when taking damage. Then of course, the damage boost being attributed as Viral makes it very desirable for alot of weapons. Meanwhile, Roar is faction damage, and a much smaller boost than Nourish, meaning you are losing DPS if you already use Faction damage on your weapons. And Eclipses light level BS is too much for some people. The symbol not telling you the actual buff you are receiving along with light being extremely finnicky. Nourish just synergizes with Wisp too well to take any other damage option.
@@dogma32 love the reply. I did make a build with nourish, with combat discipline aura and arcane avenger to maximize synergy. Running that, I'm using a corrosive wep too. However I almost never use faction mods because A. Im lazy and B. You dont always know whst you're going to fight anymore (circuit for example). Roar definitely gives me and my party more upfront damage. Also roar affects ability damage and not only weapon damage, so the argument with faction mods loses weight imo. Eclipse i totaly get behind what you're saying tho, haven't even bothered subsuming that. However, i do have a 3rd build with pillage as well. Either way I can't compare the builds properly and their efficiency because I am not running level cap and anythin I do run, all my setups are already obliterating.
I was wondering "why no Roar mention?" so I tested out Roar vs Nourish in the simulacrum turns out Nourish does indeed vastly increase particle damage over Roar and it's not even close. Gonna have to change my builds up now lol edit: also you can cancel breach surge's cast time by popping Nourish directly after casting it. this will actually speed up the total cast time (nourish has a quick animation) and since you're double-casting you can use 2x Augur mods to full shield gate (77.5 energy x2 x.8 = 124 shield per double-cast). This will eat up half your energy but Nourish + Zenurik + Archon Stretch fixes that real quick. and uh...normal wisp only needs 1 cast for this to work, lol.
Does the Cold proc on enemies increase the crit damage of Breach Surge because it's classed as weapon damage? I tried to test whether Cold procs increased the damage of Gyre's Rotorswell lightning and I couldn't see it improving the damage so I assumed it didn't work on ability damage.
Apparently Cold and Puncture's bonus effects only seem to apply to direct hits from weapons, not AoEs or abilities that can crit from something like Arcane Avenger.
Just as an update... If you were using wisp in the steel path Duviri Circuit... And you have no weapons that can apply viral or corrosive and you REALLY need it... Sol Gate is an expensive but viable way to at least prime armored units. Most of the enemies are coming at you in lines. After a few ticks, it does soften them up nicely. With heavy ability strength build, it DOES kill them. It's just not very efficient.
I put 4 red archon shards (2 tau, 2 normal) with power strength on her, and with this build I'm on 326 + 60 From Molten + 40 From Madurai Power Strength, and one Casting speed shard, removing those shards gonna be expensive so i'll become a wisp main till i get those back from farming lol
That is a UA-cam bug. You have it set to auto-translate to English. Change your settings to use the actual video language rather than translated (yes, even though it's still English) and it works. I specifically used a timestamped .vtt file to try and avoid this bug to no avail.
I have a 240+% build for both duration and strength with her 2 (will be her 4) replaced with Dispensary. That way, I have more than enough ammo for the big guns… (Mausolon, Cortege, Morgha) and energy orbs by the dozen.
Btw i don't know if it still works but tesla bank wisp can nuke with breach surge cos' damage scales infinitly with those and nervos can pick up resovours. Unless thay pached it. I think it's pached but will check it later. Have a nice day~
To me, Health tanking shouldn't be a thing in most cases if you use her 2 properly. It's free invisibility + distraction after all and should be used often to maximise the effectiveness of her 3
True. But it just depends on how active play style people prefer. Luckily Warframe gives the players options to choose what they want and not force specific play style.
most wisp players are too lazy to jump or press2 or even clueless how she works - Ive seen so many wisps die in arbitrations cause they only stack strength and think motes will save them
@@Jay-xq1dc Yes but like, it's not like you need to spam it, it's a great "Oh shit" button in my opinion on top of having great utility with the teleport and synergy with her 3
Theres better abilities that make use of the whole ability and roar got nerfed into the dirt for helminth shes a built in hp tank no need for shields youre only getting energy and ammo from dispence its also super slow at generating hp orbs as well as being reliant on duration
Roar is amazing on her, but I think Nourish is a better default ability for her. Obviously if somebody else is running Nourish you can swap to a build using Roar, and if somebody else is also using Roar... Well, Xata's Whisper is pretty strong too ;)
This guide's already long enough and I decided not to overfocus on other subsumes if they brought no additional synergy to Wisp's kit. For the abilities in the video, Nourish has additional relevance to Wisp due to the interactions with Archon Stretch and Breach Surge, while Lycath's Hunt and Fractured Blast are both reliable and plentiful sources of health orbs for armor/energy to go with Reservoir's healing. Pillage, Dispensary, and Roar are all powerful but the benefits they provide would be nearly the same on any other Warframe with the same casting stats.
It is even worth mentioning Infested Mobility which is one of the Helminth skills. It increases you BASE move speed which will me your speed scale exponentially with haste reservoir, making you hit every wall or stopping at every possible door frame as if you were playing Titania
I have to ask why does your hacking strategy break the pattern and go all the way around for the last pin? I was so distracted by that I had to rewind to listen again to what you were saying 😂
Another Wisp prime access player but i have questions about helminth options, i don't have nourish yet so what else could i use and which ability slot(2 or 4, i'm thinking 2 atm) would be the most beneficial given i don't really do SP+ level content. I have 90% of the other helminth options though which is making this decision harder and i don't want to just slap Roar on her because it works.
I’ve used Octavias Helminth when I want more crowd control for less casting. Roar is pretty nice, you could also maybe use ensnare with a gas build or terrify to armor strip enemies in an AOE.
As Kengineer said, the 4 is about effective at the same levels that MK1 Braton is. Its a helminth slot. Roar and Eclipse are both nice depending on if you are willing to put up with Eclipses light level shenanigans. Eclipse would double dip with BS the best, but Roar is more reliable.
So am I unusual in actually not liking wisp buffs? I don’t like the way my character moves changing mid mission, and the fire rate buff tends to kill the ammo economy of certain guns that are on the edge already. Plus, the melee attack speed buff requires you to mash E even harder to take advantage of
Now i need to look at something. Does self hp damage from aura gives energy per kill if You have hp damage to energy? TESTING TIME! edit. It does not work. I think. Need further testing...
Umbral requires the full set in order to reach a higher strength, and Wisp doesn't benefit from the other two umbral mods even before considering the drain cost on them. Archon is better for her.

@@ivyroux4528 The wording implies what you're saying, but the wiki says it only doubles energy cost, implying the wording is wrong.
@@ivyroux4528 Yep, it's misleading, the mod does charge for two motes at full rank eventhough it implies it charges for three.
I appreciate these comments, but come on y'all you cast them once in most missions ^^
Wow, I saved 25 energy in the first 5 mins of this hour long survival. This mod was so much more helpful than 15% ability stremgth from Power Drift, or Primed Sure Footed. (Sarcasm)
Or third option, if you're doing steel path taking Pillage as your subsume you're quickly able to hit the 400 power strength for full armor/shield strip while also replenishing your shields to max without breif respite, allowing you to run growing power or Combat discipline (which synergizes well with archon intensify and an aoe weapon like glaive prime)
also running Arcane grace instead of avenger is great for tanking, as replenishing %max hp when you get hit lets you health tank better then nidus
Would this current build not be suited for steel path?
I put Energy Conversion and Protea's dispenser on Wisp. But Nourish and Archon stretch is a really good idea too and you don't have to be locked into one place as much.
You could use Empower instead and save up a slot.
No regrets.
I love how well-rounded she is when you go all in on strength! It's kind of poetic how a spike in strength leads to greater ability overall.

Thank you for these videos Kengineer! Wisp is my second favourite after Lavos
lavos prime coming out next year got me acting up
Good coverage of the abilities
Wisp is one of the few frames in the game that dont need shield gating even up to level cap, with 3 blue archon shards for armor and good utilization of your passive you can easily tank it.
That's literally how stealth is
That ain't just for wisp
my build was high investment but way less optimized, thanks for the tips!
@@MuTHa_BLeePuH🤓👆
@@MuTHa_BLeePuHor just use blue archon shards and drop armor stuff all together

The power of the sun in the palm of me hand
My wisp build has a bit less strength, more efficiency and subsumed ensnare. I cast breach surge on the enemies grouped by ensnare to basically delete them with glaive prime.
And because glaive prime is a melee weapon and it's throw animation suspends you in the air it's super easy to stay invisible constantly.
You don't really need bs with glaive prime, the weapon already os pretty much everything. Ensnare with enough range can e good tho, even if I feel glaive doesn't need help from anything to delete every enemy in sight
@@raphael122 yeah glaive needs no help to kill, that's why the build is for survival and convenience.
Total eclipse wisp is my personal favorite
Ive boosted my Wisp strength up to 400% and i can still raise the bar whenni get my hands on some Tau Shards
I personally refuse to ignore Sol Gate, and my entire build is dedicated to getting up to as much strength as possible (800+%). I wouldn’t recommend doing this, but it is pretty funny.
I recently learned that her reservoir during a wall hang and airborne which is easier with a slow fall during aiming
4:35 Fused Res also saves you about 40-50 energy if you have Blind Rage on.
fused reservoir has no effect on energy cost. +200% cost => 300% cost total for 3 motes
@@ivyroux4528 the description of the mod is wrong, the energy cost is actually just 200%
@@ivyroux4528 you are incorrect.
@@PUR3lCHA0S shock motes are extremely useful in any scenario where you run archon stretch, which is most high forma wisp builds
I just put blue shards on her, now she has almost 1000 armor, then i go pure power, some duration, negative range (I do have archon stretch) and efficiancy
He's just like me , thank god I'm not the only one who keeps the syandana :')
Wisps 4 reminds me of the original operator beam from way back
Pretty sure it still exists if you don't select an amp or you haven't completed the War Within quest yet
Couldn't arcane guardian be used instead of avenger gor survivability on the main build? If gives the armour you need for facetanking and for once isn't outclassed by grace

I found the Easter Egg
ooooooh, so that's why it was showing me that everything costs 0 for so long
“The syandana stays on” just say you hate us…
Huh, I keep forgetting that Nourish boosts energy gained from Archon Stretch.
I guess I should put that on my Volt instead of Terrify?
While that sounds like a plan, I'm finding Nourish is everywhere in Steel Path now. I can't count the number of times I've tried to cast it recently and had the energy refunded.
Unless ur nuking with 4
Sounds llike a good idea since Volt is all electric, keeps your energy high enough to continue recasting everything in your setup
Don't know why Terrify though, so I'm probably not a viable opinion lol
@@ramroller Terrify is the easiest full armour strip subsume in the game right now.
@@Joe90h easiest in terms of the strength requirement, hardest in terms of keeping the newly stripped enemies around in order to kill them
Also the hardest in terms of getting the frame as a newer player. I'd much rather be farming Exploiter for Pillage than have to put up with one more fight against Lephantis - the only boss more glitchy and boring than that mess is the Ropalolyst
(or you could just feed Styanax to the wall)
what about eclipse on her i heard thats good too replace her 4 with that
7:42 does this mean breach surge can spread saryn's spores with her toxic lash active?
I love the way my Wisp Prime looks with a Syandana. I use the Solstice Kuva Cloak. Also I think I prefer a build with 3 umbral forma. I had a good build with archon intensify, but I think I prefer my umbral build after trying both. Health tanking is just ease of use for normal Steel Path and below. Though the other build could scale higher as you have a few mod slots open for shield gating focused mods.
Archon Stretch, fused reservoirs, primed continuity, blind rage, and transient fortitude are all "must haves" IMO. The rest is up to preference. Unless you're specializing into strength or duration range, those must haves synergize well with her entire kit.
doesn't the auxilary do the job of the syndana?
'This Syandana stays ON.' Pfft that's amazing-
@TheKengineer is it any worth to go for a umbra build? is it better or not even close that the build that you just mentioned?
Another high quality vid. Nice.
Tower defense sniper in open world areas; use motes to teleport around to line up shots.

Jokes on you, the syandana just adds more tantalizing mystery
Is it worth using the normal mods of the archon and primed mods? or should I just stick to the low tier build?
Normal mods can be used but with simply weaker results.
Is running nourish really more valuable compared to roar or eclipse tho?
I was wondering "why no Roar mention?" so I tested out Roar vs Nourish in the simulacrum
turns out Nourish does indeed vastly increase particle damage over Roar and it's not even close. Gonna have to change my builds up now lol
edit: also you can cancel breach surge's cast time by popping Nourish directly after casting it. this will actually speed up the total cast time (nourish has a quick animation) and since you're double-casting you can use 2x Augur mods to full shield gate (77.5 energy x2 x.8 = 124 shield per double-cast). This will eat up half your energy but Nourish + Zenurik + Archon Stretch fixes that real quick.
and uh...normal wisp only needs 1 cast for this to work, lol.
Great guide dude. I just neet to know what primary weapon you think is best for wisp?
Does the Cold proc on enemies increase the crit damage of Breach Surge because it's classed as weapon damage? I tried to test whether Cold procs increased the damage of Gyre's Rotorswell lightning and I couldn't see it improving the damage so I assumed it didn't work on ability damage.
Apparently Cold and Puncture's bonus effects only seem to apply to direct hits from weapons, not AoEs or abilities that can crit from something like Arcane Avenger.
It does
Breach surge particles are technically weapons so I can imagine it actually working
Would you put on more strength shards or duration shards?
I love how every single warframe content creator HAS to make a Wisp joke
respect for keeping the syandana on 🤝
And also what ability you put instead of sole gate?
thats why i replace her ulitmate with pillage. its op
I think the subtitles may be just the slightlest out of sync

That is a UA-cam bug. You have it set to auto-translate to English. Change your settings to use the actual video language rather than translated (yes, even though it's still English) and it works. I specifically used a timestamped .vtt file to try and avoid this bug to no avail.
@@TheKengineer Oh, thank you for the info, very useful

sol gate needs a danse macabre like damage ramp up
Btw i don't know if it still works but tesla bank wisp can nuke with breach surge cos' damage scales infinitly with those and nervos can pick up resovours. Unless thay pached it.

To me, Health tanking shouldn't be a thing in most cases if you use her 2 properly. It's free invisibility + distraction after all and should be used often to maximise the effectiveness of her 3
dont forget the 3s of invincibility after reactivate
True. But it just depends on how active play style people prefer. Luckily Warframe gives the players options to choose what they want and not force specific play style.
most wisp players are too lazy to jump or press2 or even clueless how she works - Ive seen so many wisps die in arbitrations cause they only stack strength and think motes will save them
@@Jay-xq1dc Yes but like, it's not like you need to spam it, it's a great "Oh shit" button in my opinion on top of having great utility with the teleport and synergy with her 3
@@SusloNick depends on the level. Face tanking is viable for about lv400 enemies.
Is there a reason you didn't mention Pillage, Dispensary, or Roar? They all scale with the same stats she builds for and are all really great on her.
Well, Xata's Whisper is pretty strong too ;)
As for armour stripping, I feel Terrify is better on her because it's an easy 100% strip.
A bit late, but I will let it be known that Arcane Arachne stacks multiplicatively off weapon attacks, such as the one known as B.S.
I have to ask why does your hacking strategy break the pattern and go all the way around for the last pin? I was so distracted by that I had to rewind to listen again to what you were saying 😂
What kind of shards is good to use with this?
I modified her around her 2 and passive, and then Synagize with the ful. That put 5 enemies to sleep every time I land. I love it
No mention of eclispe? I thought eclipse worked uniquely on breach surge, increasing the damage by silly amounts?
He did mention that general weapon damage increases buff sparks twice.
how to get the 14 on growing power mines got 5
You need the polarity of the aura slot to either match or be universal. You currently have it on a Warframe with the wrong polarity.
thx for ur work !
Is Nourish a must in this build or can you go something different?
Something diffrent
U don't need to copy the build exactly just build around ur own playstyle
Wisp IS available at duviri. I did one time with wisp yesterday..
He means available to aquire from running normal Circuit. Not available to use.

It's possible to place all 3 reservoir in 1 click ?
With her "fused reservoir" augment
what if i dont wanna use nourish?? that UWU grendel sound is gunna drive me mad
Lol at me aim gliding with Wisp all this time
So am I unusual in actually not liking wisp buffs? I don’t like the way my character moves changing mid mission, and the fire rate buff tends to kill the ammo economy of certain guns that are on the edge already. Plus, the melee attack speed buff requires you to mash E even harder to take advantage of
*Laughs in binding melee to scroll wheel*
*Laughs in holding the melee button to automatically melee at full attack speed.*
i replaced her 4th with larva, way easier for crowd control, one or two shots into it with a good tenet arca plasmor for example in SP, done.

Now i need to look at something. Does self hp damage from aura gives energy per kill if You have hp damage to energy?
TESTING TIME!
edit. It does not work. I think. Need further testing...
Isn't umbral intensify better than archon intensify
Umbral requires the full set in order to reach a higher strength, and Wisp doesn't benefit from the other two umbral mods even before considering the drain cost on them. Archon is better for her.
