Portals cannot lose a charge to projectiles more than once per 0.1 seconds, giving it a 4 second lifespan when used as a loop like this. • Molecular Prime once again shows its duration on the ability icon
That sucks. It would have been so nice to set up a choke somewhere with the portals going both directions and we could in relative safety go for hours on end in survival. It would have been a better fix if the projectile itself vanished instead of the set up portals. They are not practical to set up for different strategies anymore as every 4 seconds you have to run around and precision place portals.
@@TheKengineer worth noting that also nerfs it to a 4s lifespan when shot through by ANY weapon with moderate fire rate, not just the Nataruk infinite. It'd be better if shots passing through got a lifetime set to some value instead so it doesn't consume the portal and nerf all other weapon interactions.

The fact that NPCs that need to move from point A to point B (PoE Drones and Kavor Defectors) without following you actually change their path to seek your portal is peak pathfinding.

Hey Kengineer? A bit off topic, but if you have the time can you look into Steel Path Lephantis’s damage attenuation? Right now it feels broken, with it capping your damage to like 500 to 600 per tick. That stacked on top of the EHP/Armor rework a while back, using non-shotgun or slow fire rate weapons on SP Lephantis makes the mission take like 20+ minutes. I tried to bring this up in the forums but was immediately buried under the “git gud” crowd. Idk how else to get attention to this issue. If you see this, thanks!
I think that was always the case with lephantis? Like it has its own seperate damage reduction on top of armor in the first phase so it gets exponentially worse in steel path.Though I havent fought it in forever to be honest
Is that the lantern boss on demios? Yeah, I was using ember, roar, first augment and incarnon atmos with an insane riven. Yeah wtf is happening with that boss. 10 mins for first phase. I noped out. People say use revenant or nyx for friendly fire to take him down. Who the heck has nyx built. That boss is not ok.
That's the stealth feature of koumei update T posing model in arch wing stealth, t posing void mode. Fissure Warframe buff T pose and enemy does the same too. It's been here for so long yet no hotfix is beyond me

if you are focusing on speedva, range is almost useless as it doesnt affect 4th range, only duration affects it. I think it is still worth to focus on duration with some strength (around 150 is max speed/slow)
I did not know about the portals that way! I mostly used the portals to spice up my friends' runs by placing them behind doors to keep them on their toes when a door opens. Now I can say it was for strategic purposes! Loved Nova when I first got her along with the fashion! Thanks for the guide!
I've always been a big Nova fan, so this rework...it's the highlight of the update for me. I'm still agonizing over how I want to re-forma her (needs a couple, I think), but I got distracted by Grendel and Hildryn's new augments (both so much fun!). Thanks for some added clarity on how things work. It should help me to get to grips with what I want to do.
1:08 it is cool the game add a pseudo null star on energy orbs gained by passive, so you can see how effective it is if you have a high damage secondary and use secondary surge with it, you can overcharge the anti matter drop.
for those who don't see it, the second from the left orb has 2 nullstars orbiting it. actually what arcane or you talking about. Virtuos Surge is for operator, are you thinking of Cascadia Flare for 480% damage for secondaries?
@@UNGGodYT It only boosts secondary dmg right? I prefer Cascadia flare as I believe that's just damage for anything, I could be wrong but it does only say damage. Anyway all my builds lack flow with 55 efficiency
@@zionlakins49 secondary surge is to do less attack since it multiples the damage, so less shoots, it is ideal for grimoire secondary shoot of plinx secondary as they do aoe damage. Flare is base damage, while surge is multiplicative , so it is more, but they balanced it by making only one shoot consumes all stacks. but just pointing it existe and can be full to do use on high resistant enemies since it is one stance of damage, so no time to adapt to it.
Nova was the first frame I got other than Excalibur and she's the one I did the rest of the star chart with. I'm so happy to use her in endgame content easier now!
I was playing around with the reworked Nova for the first time just last night and literally found myself thinking, "man, I wish I had a Kengineer video on this."
I feel like DE have stated on every post asking for it to be removed that "it's intentional and will stay" the bug was how it also caused the same delay to be applied to all other abilities if attempted to be cast after null star - which has been fixed.
@@johnnykay6083 Using roughly 70% Strength Nova meant that whenever you used your 4th, enemy speed remained neutral (neither fast or slow). Made Nova more rounded for general play, so you wouldn't accidentally bring your Slow build for a Def mission for example.
@@johnnykay6083 When you had 70% ability strength (With just [Power Donation]), her 4th ability did not affect enemy speed. It'd simply give the double damage buff and explosion when killed... We could bring her into any mission type we wanted without annoying our teammates.
I knew I should expect it from you but still gotta shout out the correct use of quadratic instead of exponential for damage on the nourish + null star combo
My favourite build is 320+ strength Pillage Nova with AMD augment. With that Nova has great defences, complete armour strip, constant shield replenishment, and high AMD and MP explosion damage. It is also very active to play which I find more fun that the old boring pop max duration MP -> shoot build.
i also run eclipse as helminth, fun thing about that, even at 1k mobs sometimes i see how i get hit, yet it drops by 1-3 shields and insta regen back... nova is FUN 😂
ohh, didnt know her 1 particles worked like Breach Surge particles! in that case also consider Vigorous Swap, it's additive with Arachne and has a nicer trigger condition imo edit: you also missed something kinda big...at the moment, the augment isn't just applying heat dmg in an AoE, it's also adding an AoE null star hit. meaning the primary target takes 2x null star hits (the actual one plus the new AoE one) and the heat damage, for a total of 3 status procs, and enemies in the AoE take 1x null star shits + the heat damage. I suspect the extra AoE null star hit is a bug, but as a result the augment is enabling way more damage and status spread than it would if it just added an AoE heat wave. (see also the recent vid I made for more details ;p)
@@IceBen4444 Probably too much code and also: max 315% additive damage to orb that does 200,000 max damage + power strength, then explodes enemies for 300% blast proc on death or max. Plus MP. Plus Viral. Yeah, if only LOL. Mostly sad about not being able to spam her 2 honestly.
3:50 if a frame doesn't have a "looting" ability (an ability that breaks containers to make searching for loot items in tilesets quicker by blowing everything up) this is actually an ideal looting ability when given the augment to put over an ability you don't require as much. as you can spam cast neutron star periodically to blast large areas of both enemies and containers in search of voca/medallions/void plumes and other nice things when paired with a range build.
WAIT A BIG SECOND. 7:17 The drone SEEKS the portal. UNITS ARE CODED TO KNOW TO USE IT. This is about as big of an addition they could have done to her kit and make Nova nearly mandatory for any Defection / Rescue mission!
It makes me think the whole strength thing was a bug back then after this update but now idk. I'm looking forward to playing as her again she was my main as she was one of the 3 frames I had for the longest time when I got back into the game, so it'll be fun to play again. If Inaros update made him drastically more fun I bet it'll do the same here.
Maybe they can make wormhole count the projectile that goes in it past its first up a count based on if it had hit a enemy (say 10 times of going in it with a hit) so it works has tech but not for afk (or cap the effect to 1 portal?)
Been trying something really similar, but swapping Arachne out with Molt Efficiency, gaining around 26+ Null Star charges. With spamming Null Star the more stars seem to be doing more damage than the extra per star.
With the stealth focus build I would still go in favor of Perspicacity since it just lets you bypass locks because that invisibility just seems to really only to stealth at the locks.
12:38, off-topic but I feel betrayed that someone said that Arcane Barrier was more useful than Arcane Aegis so that's what I farmed in the Jade event. Now every shield-tanking build I see has Aegis and I've only got a single copy 😭
I hope they change the amount of charges to 5, to make it feel better for defection missions. Usually you want to use the portal to jump too and defectors spawn in groups of 4, so you either need 2 portals, leave one defector behind or catch-up with them without using the portal. Before rework it wasn't an issue, because portals were duration-based, but now I have a wonky build with infested mobility for this purposes, tried wrathful advance as a subsume, but it feels worse. Alternatively, I'd like separate counters for player/NPC jumps or to have amount of charges scale with duration
As someone who mained Nova for like 3 years this is an amazing change. I already loved her kit as it was and now she has ascended to godly levels. She is much much tankier and enemies pose basically no threat with them being slowed down. She is so comfy to play hell I might just stick with her forever and forget other frames exist 😂 On top of that they released SYBARIS INCARNON which is probably my favorite underdog weapon in this game. This is the best update ever.
The changes are definetly good,. It's just that i kind liked that how you buidl nova was jsut completly differnt. espcially the neagtive strenght build. I am glad for these chagnes but i did lik eth build variety.

ive been running high duration low range to prevent particles from seeking on my "tank" nova - i subsume over her 3 and i dont need antimatter drop for damage, so it suits me fine. i tend to hover around 30 particles, which is major overkill at 180 strength, but its very comfy.
Thank goodness I don't have to make two separate builds to get the most Nova lol. Also, out of curiosity, what progenitor bonus are you using on your Kuva Hek?
Still wish the homing range on her Null Star didn't scale with ability range (at least not without Neutron Star), because all of her other abilities arguably want some range, but increased range on Null Star just makes her DR less reliable, even if you can recast it.
I just get all my strength from shards for the new nova then I freed up mod slots and didn’t negateffect my duration range or efficiency then I have a separate nova for my nuke build
They were good before, now they're far better plus viable as damage sources and all Kavats/Vulpaphylas can now have Swipe for no downside at all, and also Crescent does Electric innately, and multiple additional giant damage multipliers, your pets can now close in on lower-end Exergis numbers every swipe
@@kindredbarkmaw2509 They just never had the synergies with my particular kits like Diriga, Nautilus, and the Hounds did. And with how much changed in general, it's hard to look at them and see exactly where they changed.
Nova is now *easily* the number one generalist frame I’ll always tell new players to get and heavily invest into. Also, Exergis is a big slept-on choice for her Antimatter Drop, especially since it’s (typically) not built for crit. I can charge its single shot
I have a question regarding Nova's viability as a loot frame. Given that she can both speed enemies up, and therefore increase spawn rates leading to higher kpm, would she outperform loot frames in resource gathering? Or is the added resource drop rate from loot frames like khora, nekros, ans hydroid more beneficial despite having a potentially lower kpm? Thanks!
Theoretically if warframe were real, AFK gameplay would allow adaptive enemies (AI or intelligent species) to 9/10 (or whatever) times capture the warframe if anything is exploitable... AND the chance you code a better afk mechanic than DE if they should use it is close to 0 (considering they would have more expensive infrastructure to drive complex AI) interestingly the code might be able to be annexed by other larger behemoths of war and even the assets and the trade secrets therewith should it become very valuable... I hope this is not too geeky look at why AFK is so frowned upon (I'm not an engineer (didn't finish my degree) but I have been obsessed with AI since 2018 and think deeply&/overthink it with a scientific flavour)
What about incarnate bonuses from some months ago with Xaku whisper making the explosion very nasty, has that been patched out and no longer the go to?
So if Null Stars count as "weapons" (i.e. take generic +damage and elements) can you make them crit with Avenger/Adarza? Would using Thermal Transfer buff the Heat DoT?
Honestly, I can accept her numbers went up, but I don't agree there's that much difference between old Nova and new Nova. The passive's good but hardly game-breaking. Null Star is still better off with low range. Antimatter Drop is basically exactly the same. Wormhole is just as janky as it always was, the change from duration to charges means pretty much nothing. As for Molecular Prime, okay you can do both Speed and Slow with the same build now, but who's switching between the two? Either you like Speed and are sticking to that, or you play with Slow (normally solo) and will never touch the Speed. The only change that would have made sense for her, changing Wormhole into a Portal Gun, is nowhere to be seen.
I was under the impression that combining her Neutron Star and Molecular Fission augments would make the 1 automatically prime enemies in its aoe, but I haven't seen anyone talk about this and I haven't actually tested it myself... Can anyone confirm whether or not this works?
About that no afk rule, last night i had a guy on a macro on saryn on netracells, we waited 15 minutes before it got to the vault to use its sigil. I should have reported it but it was late and I just went to bed. Will DE detect it by them self or do they need the report to find these people?
It's unfortunate we lost Neutralva and Shiftva in the rework, but it's for the best since this is the strongest and easiest to use that Nova has ever been.
That portal exploit being possible is bad design or programming from DE. It should be trivial to add a counter to limit the number of portals one projectile can pass through. The fact that players must self-limit is disappointing.
It used to be more limited because Wormhole had a duration. It is still limited by the max number of projectiles that can exist. Over time the projectiles can get 'lost' as well.

@@nicktheninja3166no, the lantern boss is Zealot, the Lephantis is a two-phase boss with 3 heads, who drops Nekros' parts
I haven't tried SP Lephantis in a long time but the zealot is DEFINITELY guilty of this, just have to lay into it forever.

145* so Umbral Intensify (+44%) pretty much covers it if you don't want even higher Strength for 1/2/Helminth
That was changed in her rework, she now requires 150% Strength for max Slow/Speed.
@@basedx.With the scaling change on 4 you need 150% to reach the cap. Umbral intensify gets you to 72% now which is basically unnoticeable from 75%

PSA: AFK portal setups were nerfed, but officially kept. Each shot now eats 1/10th of a charge. You no longer have to fear getting banned using it.

You can still get like 5% slow/speed with power donation and overextended. A 5% change is basically neutral

Nova with neutron star and helminthed yareli blades is a personal favourite for Righteous Fire (PoE) at home
3:50 if a frame doesn't have a "looting" ability (an ability that breaks containers to make searching for loot items in tilesets quicker by blowing everything up) this is actually an ideal looting ability when given the augment to put over an ability you don't require as much. as you can spam cast neutron star periodically to blast large areas of both enemies and containers in search of voca/medallions/void plumes and other nice things when paired with a range build.

Btw, her 2 now have LoS check when previously it doesn't.

It makes me think the whole strength thing was a bug back then after this update but now idk. I'm looking forward to playing as her again she was my main as she was one of the 3 frames I had for the longest time when I got back into the game, so it'll be fun to play again. If Inaros update made him drastically more fun I bet it'll do the same here.
Maybe they can make wormhole count the projectile that goes in it past its first up a count based on if it had hit a enemy (say 10 times of going in it with a hit) so it works has tech but not for afk (or cap the effect to 1 portal?)
Been trying something really similar, but swapping Arachne out with Molt Efficiency, gaining around 26+ Null Star charges. With spamming Null Star the more stars seem to be doing more damage than the extra per star.

With the stealth focus build I would still go in favor of Perspicacity since it just lets you bypass locks because that invisibility just seems to really only to stealth at the locks.
12:38, off-topic but I feel betrayed that someone said that Arcane Barrier was more useful than Arcane Aegis so that's what I farmed in the Jade event. Now every shield-tanking build I see has Aegis and I've only got a single copy 😭
Good news, the bigger part of Aegis (being unkillable by not-toxin for 12 seconds) works even at rank 0

I hope they change the amount of charges to 5, to make it feel better for defection missions.
Usually you want to use the portal to jump too and defectors spawn in groups of 4, so you either need 2 portals, leave one defector behind or catch-up with them without using the portal.
Before rework it wasn't an issue, because portals were duration-based, but now I have a wonky build with infested mobility for this purposes, tried wrathful advance as a subsume, but it feels worse.
Alternatively, I'd like separate counters for player/NPC jumps or to have amount of charges scale with duration
As someone who mained Nova for like 3 years this is an amazing change. I already loved her kit as it was and now she has ascended to godly levels. She is much much tankier and enemies pose basically no threat with them being slowed down. She is so comfy to play hell I might just stick with her forever and forget other frames exist 😂
On top of that they released SYBARIS INCARNON which is probably my favorite underdog weapon in this game. This is the best update ever.

ive been running high duration low range to prevent particles from seeking on my "tank" nova - i subsume over her 3 and i dont need antimatter drop for damage, so it suits me fine. i tend to hover around 30 particles, which is major overkill at 180 strength, but its very comfy.
She's amazing with the MIGHTY SEER

Still wish the homing range on her Null Star didn't scale with ability range (at least not without Neutron Star), because all of her other abilities arguably want some range, but increased range on Null Star just makes her DR less reliable, even if you can recast it.
If i recall correctly the 2 sec cast on nullstar is a bug and pablo said they ll fix it

I just get all my strength from shards for the new nova then I freed up mod slots and didn’t negateffect my duration range or efficiency then I have a separate nova for my nuke build
So Speedva no longer needs neg Strength. That alone makes her much more powerful all around and opens up a lot of build possibilities.

They were good before, now they're far better plus viable as damage sources and all Kavats/Vulpaphylas can now have Swipe for no downside at all, and also Crescent does Electric innately, and multiple additional giant damage multipliers, your pets can now close in on lower-end Exergis numbers every swipe

Portals now consume charges when you shoot through them. 10 shots will take away one charge. Sadge.

Nova is now *easily* the number one generalist frame I’ll always tell new players to get and heavily invest into. Also, Exergis is a big slept-on choice for her Antimatter Drop, especially since it’s (typically) not built for crit. I can charge its single shot

I have a question regarding Nova's viability as a loot frame. Given that she can both speed enemies up, and therefore increase spawn rates leading to higher kpm, would she outperform loot frames in resource gathering? Or is the added resource drop rate from loot frames like khora, nekros, ans hydroid more beneficial despite having a potentially lower kpm? Thanks!
Theoretically if warframe were real, AFK gameplay would allow adaptive enemies (AI or intelligent species) to 9/10 (or whatever) times capture the warframe if anything is exploitable... AND the chance you code a better afk mechanic than DE if they should use it is close to 0 (considering they would have more expensive infrastructure to drive complex AI)
interestingly the code might be able to be annexed by other larger behemoths of war and even the assets and the trade secrets therewith should it become very valuable...
I hope this is not too geeky look at why AFK is so frowned upon (I'm not an engineer (didn't finish my degree) but I have been obsessed with AI since 2018 and think deeply&/overthink it with a scientific flavour)
What about incarnate bonuses from some months ago with Xaku whisper making the explosion very nasty, has that been patched out and no longer the go to?
The 2000% damage perk on the Phenmor, Laetum, and Felarx no longer interacts with Xata's Whisper in that way

Honestly, I can accept her numbers went up, but I don't agree there's that much difference between old Nova and new Nova. The passive's good but hardly game-breaking. Null Star is still better off with low range. Antimatter Drop is basically exactly the same. Wormhole is just as janky as it always was, the change from duration to charges means pretty much nothing. As for Molecular Prime, okay you can do both Speed and Slow with the same build now, but who's switching between the two? Either you like Speed and are sticking to that, or you play with Slow (normally solo) and will never touch the Speed.
The only change that would have made sense for her, changing Wormhole into a Portal Gun, is nowhere to be seen.

Because they used to contain builds for Slowva which now exists with the same modding as Speedva.

It for sure works, I use it in my general build. It chains like crazy thanks to the heat proc getting the 200% damage increase as well

About that no afk rule, last night i had a guy on a macro on saryn on netracells, we waited 15 minutes before it got to the vault to use its sigil. I should have reported it but it was late and I just went to bed. Will DE detect it by them self or do they need the report to find these people?
Reports definitely help but DE does have automated systems, most likely tuned for serious offenders.

This guide is already out of date. Today DE nerfed the "wormhole particle accelerator" by making a projectile consume 1/10 of a charge on the portal.

That portal exploit being possible is bad design or programming from DE.
It should be trivial to add a counter to limit the number of portals one projectile can pass through.
The fact that players must self-limit is disappointing.
It used to be more limited because Wormhole had a duration. It is still limited by the max number of projectiles that can exist. Over time the projectiles can get 'lost' as well.
