The $10,000 question: how did the church manage without a “correct” translation of scripture until the 1800s? That is what modern scholars and skeptics would have us to believe.
Wish I could give you 10 thumbs up. Yes, it is a wonderful day to hear you say "it was created around 1839-40....". Been waiting for you to make that type of declarative statement since you first began this series. Still hoping to hear a release date on your upcoming book. Great news that you have another one already in the works. As always, thank you and those around you for all you do in His name. May God bless!
Codex Sinaiticus is not the only ancient manuscripts of the Bible. There are thousands of them! Some of the papyrus manuscripts are even older than the Codex Sinaiticus! These ancient manuscripts contain variant readings. Textual critics compare these variant readings to determine the most likely original reading of the Bible. They apply a set of scientific criteria like dating of the manuscripts, provenance, scribal errors, text type, family of manuscripts, etc. for choosing the best reading. This video does not really explain the methodology of textual criticism, and so it cannot criticize the work of textual critics. Some of the texts used in KJV have been found by textual critics not to be the best readings. KJV is a beautiful translation but it's not perfect. It's good to compare its texts with those of the other translations like NKJV, RSV, NRSV, NIV, NAB, NABRE, JB, etc. which have been examined by textual critics. When textual critics can't be sure which variant reading to choose, these translations of the Bible would usually place the alternative readings in the footnote so the readers would know that there are variant readings.
I think everyone needs to do their part and forward links to these videos to their pastors, Sunday school teachers, church acquaintances, and the like. True lovers of the Word will see through this mirage. The light of Truth shines bright in this series. Well done, David!
It is sad that the vlogger is himself not truthful about textual criticism. In the first two cases, the corrector of the text has crossed out the wrong spellings. Furthermore, the issue of pages from the University of Leipzig being a different colour than those of the British Library can be explained due to the different exposure of the pages. In Codicology it is known that if vellum (animal skin) is kept under different environmental factors it affects it differently. Furthermore the Nestle-Aland (28th edition) of the eclectic text indicates in its text-critical apparatus these difference pointed out. Ironically the vlogger doesn't even mention the Codex Vaticanus or the different papyri, some of which are older than the Codex Sinaiticus. Textual Criticism does not prove of disprove the resurrection of Jesus, it aims to produce the earliest version of the New Testament Text available. I am surprised that using a few scribal errors, forgetting Paul's letters and passages such as 1 Corinthians 15 (which is NOT wrongly copied), the vlogger characterised the Codex Sinaiticus. (As rule of thumb, the 3 most important codices are Vaticanus, Sinaiticus and Alexandrinus. Then one looks at the papyri e.g. P45, P46, P47 to see if these correspond. If Vaticanus and Alexandrinus have a reading that is not shared with Sinaiticus, it is often the preferred reading. If any papyri (which is even older than the large codices) have a different reading could be chosen. There are other criteria also.) To characterise or misrepresent a complex process, is, according to me, not helpful and not truthful. While there might be scholars in the past that has argued on the basis of some readings that there was no resurrection does not reflect on the Codex, but on the scholars. It doesn't make the Codex Sinaiticus less valuable. No-one is conspiring. This vlog boils down to misinformation.
In short, these two codices are old simply because, first, they were written on extremely expensive and durable antelope skins, and secondly, they were so full of errors, alterations, and deletions, that they were never used by true believers and seldom even by their own custodians. Thus they had little chance of wearing away." John Burgon on Sinaiticus and Vaticanus Bing search
Amen brother David. God has used ( & is using) you greatly to help me desire & continue to learn and study His Word in my KJV!!! Much love and prayer from us down here in Oceanside CA! Eventually, we’re going to start a bible based church down here, “Simple Faith Church Oceanside”. “Where the Bible changes us, we don’t change the Bible” lol. Thank you, please continue to make full proof of thy ministry !!!!
Sorry Dave, I was a KJV only believer for most of my life, now I have been a Critical Text believer for over a year. Always been a big fan of yours, and love your research. Actually, it was you that helped me come to this, thank you.
@VoteForTRUMP There is absolutely no textual evidence for the King James version of the Bible being even remotely close to what the Apostles by the divine power of God were inspired to write. It contains readings presented in Erasmus' Textus Receptus that were not know by Christendom until its initiation and it contains numerous instances of expansion and additions to the text which have no manuscript or patristical evidence. People such as Josh and I firmly believe in the inspired preservation of Scripture but that preservation is not found in the KJV.
Thank you for all your detailed work in exposing that 'flaky fake'. While you were going through the series on the Sinaiticus, you had me at edge of my seat waiting for the next installment. You covered every last detail with a fine-toothed comb! 'Left no stone unturned.' God bless you and yours.
When I first got saved many years ago, I got the Good News Bible which I never really liked. I then went to the biggest selling bible of the day, the NIV. I noticed the verses David mentioned with notes that said 'the earliest and most reliable manuscripts do not have...'. After that, I had real trouble wondering what else is false in the bible. I had a dark period where I almost lost my faith but came back like the lost prodigal I was. But this time I felt compelled to get the NKJV as I found the KJV too archaic to read, as poetic as it was in many parts. I have now ordered the KJVER (easy reader), which will now be my main bible along with the NKJV.
Two problems: 1) We do not know the intentions of the authors of Codex Sinaiticus (i.e. did they have another opinion on Jesus, i.e. Arianism. The church fathers mentioned they were combatting heresies even in the first few centuries). This muddies every analysis, so the text should only be read with this caution in mind. 2) As far as I know it hasn't been carbon dated yet (Constantine Simonides stated it was his forgery from the 1840'ies)
Since they changed the NIV again, Luke 24:51 appears as the original Textus Receptus has it. Maybe when they change the NIV again they'll include more of the original text. Only problem is that when they change it again, all that might go out the window. It's hard to follow the "thought-for-though translations" (which are only paraphrases, written by unbelievers).
It's obvious that K.Tischendorf saw himself as the hero and great scholar, who was to be admired for his dedication to find and persue such an ancient text, going back to 400AD !
THE 1901 ASV had as its foundation the KJV, & it took, as I recall 2/3 of the scholars vote to change the KJV. I don't believe at all any claim that the ASV is a translation of W&H. But both W&H & ASV had more ancient manuscripts to use that KJV did, by far.
I'm looking forward to your new book. I'm reading through Look What's Missing and it surprises me that so many respected, fundamental pastors who use modern Bible translations don't grasp that they are trusting in the wisdom of man not in the wisdom of God. How can anyone trust a Bible that is a work in progress waiting for the next inevitable revision? God bless you and your important work!
How awesome! Simply amazing video! Its good to know you're doing a book about the siniticus, so ALL the info of the videos will be in your upcoming book? Gonna get me one of those.

I have many modern bible translations and I tried them and they are all the same, they feel wrong, and without going into too much detail let's just say they lack detail and lack inspiration. I trust the Authorized Version because it feels like I am being fed spiritually when I read it and I am more focused and it does help me grow as a Christian without any doubt. There is much to be said about the Authorized Version because it was translated by men who were all about serving God and doing their very best to make sure that we got the very best manuscripts that told us the whole story and not to take away any of the important doctrines and truths that God wants us to know to help us grow spiritually and to get the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth of God's holy word...
The resurrection passage in Mark 16 is quite different from the John 8 woman taken in adultery apocryphal addition. The Mark 16 passage is only missing from 2 major ancient Greek texts , so far as I have seen. And as the ending of a book, it can easily be explained by the last page of a codex wearing off. But if some passage is of disputed genuineness, it is OK to include it & note what witnesses have it & which do not. Those 2 passages (at John 8 & Mark 16) are the only substantial passages of such dispute.
great Job Brother David, and you are spot on in your presentation, love and enjoy watching your videos, im a kJ believer and, i get a lot of slack from a lot of people but i will never use any other bible
I’ll just stick to my Koren and JPS Tanakh. Yes, I believe the Christ is the Moshiach (I align more with the Messianic Jews). Faith is key. As Avraham showed.
I thought when I started watching this video that I might see something from a compentent scholar. Instead I get this. Refuting all the claims made by this nitwit would take up too much space. First of all, I have never heard anybody claim the Codex Sinaiticus to be the world's oldest bible. Codex Vaticanus and most papyri are older. Second, the notion that Sinaiticus was created in 19th century is absurd. It dates from the late 4th. Third, the absence of Mark xvi. 9-20 does not mean that Sinaiticus denies either the Resurrection or the Ascension. Nor does it follow that the codex teaches adoptionism. It is rather obvious that you have no concept whatsoever of the science of textual criticism, nor of the basic principles of that discipline.
So Daniels' great reveal here is that the earliest known version of the new testament was missing text that was later added by unknown scribes in later versions but that the same information exists in other parts of the new testament. In other words Daniels clearly supports the facts described by bible scholars. That scribes later added to the original gospel entire sections of new text to support their apologist views.
So if Tischendorf included the apocryphal addition to the NT, didn't T include a statement that it was spurious (but included because modern Christians are used to seeing it)?
The Sinaiticus does not deny the resurrection of Christ, this is flat out wrong. Sinaiticus ends at Mark 16:8 instead of verse 19. There are hints and many scholars think these verses were added later. Regardless of what you do with these missing verses it irrelevant to the resurrection.

@@oldtimerlee8820 No that's those old Greek text of the bible are valuable and tell us the history of our faith, why not preserve them and study them to find what the purest translation of the bible.
King James? really? King James onlyism destroys the Bible's reliability. Christians need to wake up and do some reading. Defend the Bible (Greek Manuscripts) not a translation of it (KJV).
off subject. why is there an addition of Cainan as son of Arphaxad and father of Shela in Luke 3:36? My Westminster Bible dictionary say Luke took this from the LXX. I with you and do not believe there was an LXX then and the HS would not make a mistake. Any help?
I wish there was a new book, with a translation of the Textus Receptus (KJV is one), and 3 other parallel columns, of Sinaiticus, Vaticanus and Alexandrinus, so we can see the simply HUGE differences, omissions and changes in easy to read form, not only between the two texts (Textus Receptus versus Alexandrian), but how the other 3 MASSIVELY contradict each other. It would blow people's minds how inaccurate the Alexandrian Greek is, even in contradicting itself! How can it therefore fulfil the EVERY WORD kept perfect prophecy of Matthew 4:4???????
You can see parallel versions in English, easily, by using Bible Gateway. For example: Mark 16:9-20 removed, Denies the bodily resurrection of Jesus . . . www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark%2016&version=KJV;NIV;ESV;RSV;NASB You can see what position GotQuestions holds: Should Mark 16:9-20 be in the Bible? . . . Answer: Although the vast majority of later Greek manuscripts contain Mark 16:9-20, the Gospel of Mark ends at verse 8 in two of the oldest and most respected manuscripts, the Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus. As the oldest manuscripts are known to be the most accurate because there were fewer generations of copies from the original autographs (i.e., they are much closer in time to the originals), and the oldest manuscripts do not contain vv. 9-20, we can conclude that these verses were added later by scribes . . . www.gotquestions.org/Mark-16-9-20.html
Another Bible ~ Another Gospel: Tables of Comparison of Selected Scriptures Affecting Fundamental Doctrines of the Christian Faith . . . Greek Textus Receptus ~ Hebrew Masoretic Text ~ King James Version ~ New King James Version ~ English Revised Version ~ New American Standard Bible ~ New International Version . . . www.watch-unto-prayer.org/scripture.html
I want to the the content of the MS themselves, as the modern versions used them in a inconsistent fashion, and ended up different even from each other. Having the KJV Textus receptus running down in 4 columns with Sinaiticus Vaticanus and Alexandrinus would show up the anomalies better
I was checking out a verse in 2 Samuel 21; 19 in the NASB it says that Elanan killed Galiath, not David killed Galiath also John 1; 18 says Begotten God not Begotten Son and Luke 4; 4 half theverse is missing.
Keep your faith in God and his son Jesus the Chirst always no matter what man says. We are a wicked kind and cause strife everywhere we go. Until we consciously connect to God thru Jesus our thinking and ways will not change. Only thru a rebirth of the mind can we be children of God.
this guy complains about oldest bible doesnt have stories like the woman caught in adultery in it..Dude most old bible if not all were handle more times and books and pages wore out or gets lost..thank God that the Bible was not just written once! when a bible got old they re-wrote it.and so on and so on..thats why some old bibles dont have all the books
Thanks, for the continuing education on this most important subject! You must spend long hours researching, writing and producing these vids for the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "....The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves." (Luke 10:2-3KJV)
Yes, I can't help it. Researching and writing are a lot of my life. But I don't do a whole lot more than sit in front of a built-in computer camera when making the videos. I try to make them interesting, and to stop when I'm through. May God encourage and provide MANY labourers for His harvest, before the time of the end. That revival and those salvations are what I pray for. - David
Vaticanus has Shepherd of Hermas and the Epistles of Clement and Barnabas, there has never been a uniform, universally accepted Canon of the Bible. Jews use a 1,000 year old version that has less books than the Orthodox Christian which is more than the Hebrew based Protestant KJV that follows the Jewish Canon, although it did not always lack the Apocrypha.
Who is they when you say “they lied”. The text is the text. No one altered Sinaiticus, you seem to be imputing a lot more than the text is actually saying.
You obviously haven’t researched this. Sinaiticus was written in the 1800’s, not the fourth century like “they” (the Vatican and other Bible corrupters), claim.
PEOPLE, the information is out there, this is just a opinion! Search for others that have the same opinion with this guy! See why others believe otherwise! Be sure, if what this guy thinks it true, people will know with proofs not only assumptions.
Mr David! I hope that Jesus gives you an blessing to tech classes, on how to start and finish the history of the bible. I have two of your books. Instead of being in a classroom, I am giving away teaching in videos, and then making books that put it all together, with documentation. That's the best way I know to use my time and resources. Thanks for asking! - David
no problem Mr David, thank you for answering. I apologize if I came off disrespectful. I'm just very eager to learn from you. once again thank you very much, I cant wait for those new books.
Wasn’t the bases of mark being the first gospel built on a fake copy of mark that was believed to be the oldest copy. That also didn’t have the Ascension? 9:08
I would think comparing the Siniaticus to a translation, no matter which one, would not be best practice. It would seem that comparing the Greek to the Greek would be best practice. Good info though.
Great work, brother David. Excellent information!

I think everyone is claiming that codex sanai is the oldest bible..
@@rejim.philip9431 It's not.
interesting. thank you for your insight. I'm interested in this for other reasons.
Thank you David. God bless you!

Heaven and Earth will pass away but his (God's) word will live forever.
great job David God bless you and glory to our savior Jesus Christ
Thanks for the video!
Thank you sir for sharing this information with us.
Today's lesson. If you don't like something it must be fake.
Interestingly enough, Watchtower’s New World Translation DOES remove both Mark 16:9-20, and John 7:53 thru 8:11.
I’m sorry where I can find your church? Could you please let me know. Thank you.
Astonishing-well done-this is so helpful.
I have read today codex Sianiticus Mark 16; 9-20 and it shows that Mark 16; 9-20 has been removed, you can see it clearly.
Thank you for this video. What original manuscript was King James Bible translated from?
Thank you so much for sharing your research.
God bless u sir!
Could somebody help me find links about why the scholars say the book of mark came first?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel_of_Mark
Ok thanks
Look up "primacy of Mark" in Google. That will save you hours of time.
Google -- order gospels written -- to get you started. Here's a link, for example.
www.bc.edu/schools/stm/crossroads/resources/birthofjesus/intro/the_dating_of_thegospels.html
I haven't looked into this specifically. Thus, take the link listed, with a grain of salt, until you have the opportunity to dig deeper into this subject.
Hope this helps.
Elias Gamez Trinitarian Bible society.com has free booklets "article's" you can order that defend the king james bible. One of the article's include why the verses in Mark are authentic
You beautiful brother thank u for this video god bless u for it and your wisdom
Praying i dont ever get that.i had sinusitus before, and needed antibiotics. lol! Sincerely though brother, praying for you and Christ Bless His ministry through you, unto Him! Thank you very much for it and for your teaching!
Thank you so much for all the research that you have done on this subject. God bless you.
Great video BUT Mark WAS the first Gospel written. Matthew and Luke clearly used Mark's Gospel.
Wouldn't it be great if this becomes common knowledge and everyone throws all those bible perVersions away and go back to the King James Bible?
We have a job to do.... to do our part to make it "common knowledge". As with the parable of the seed and the sower, we are do broadcast seeds of truth. God will handle the rest.
God Bless.
Oldtimer Lee Amen, brother!

What Old Testament books or partial books is it missing?
I would like to buy this bible for my daughters will be difficult for them to understand it? I bought the NKV because I didn’t know.
The NKJV is an excellent modern translation of the same textual basis that the KJV used.
off subject. why is there an addition of Cainan as son of Arphaxad and father of Shela in Luke 3:36? My Westminster Bible dictionary say Luke took this from the LXX. I with you and do not believe there was an LXX then and the HS would not make a mistake. Any help?
Watch David's series on the LXX
Thank you, Dave.
For example:
Mark 16:9-20 removed, Denies the bodily resurrection of Jesus . . . www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark%2016&version=KJV;NIV;ESV;RSV;NASB
You can see what position GotQuestions holds:
Should Mark 16:9-20 be in the Bible? . .
I don't think that would be of any use, unless you plan to learn Greek, also. Good luck with that.
I can read Greek, but 4 interlinear are best, spread over two pages, two on each page
Awesome as always brother! Godbless!
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
I was checking out a verse in 2 Samuel 21; 19 in the NASB it says that Elanan killed Galiath, not David killed Galiath also John 1; 18 says Begotten God not Begotten Son and Luke 4; 4 half theverse is missing.
the woman caught in adultery passage is known not to exist in the earliest manuscripts, so that's nothing new that it doesn't exit here either.
So Luke didn't say Jesus ascended into Heaven in the Gospels, but he did in Acts? So, what's the problem🤔
Keep your faith in God and his son Jesus the Chirst always no matter what man says. We are a wicked kind and cause strife everywhere we go. Until we consciously connect to God thru Jesus our thinking and ways will not change. Only thru a rebirth of the mind can we be children of God.
God bless you.
this guy complains about oldest bible doesnt have stories like the woman caught in adultery in it..Dude most old bible if not all were handle more times and books and pages wore out or gets lost..thank God that the Bible was not just written once! when a bible got old they re-wrote it.and so on and so on..thats why some old bibles dont have all the books
Very interesting!
Ps. I hope you get right on repentance, I like how Curtis Hutson explains it
Wait, so which is the oldest Bible then? Would it be the codex Vaticanus?
Sinaiticus was written in the 1800’s, not the fourth century like “they” (the Vatican and other Bible corrupters), claim.

great research brother.
Any thoughts on Andrew Gabriel Roth and his research?
Awesome!
What about the story of the snake, apple and Eva? Is this story in this bible?
Amen, Amen, Amen!
Thank you for bringing the deception so clearly to light.
Sinaiticus BASED! and True
Tischendorf appears to have hated the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Love you brother
Mr David! I hope that Jesus gives you an blessing to tech classes, on how to start and finish the history of the bible. I have two of your books. I have read them, but I believe you have a calling for learning and teaching for feeble christian like me. I have been watching you vlogs for some time now, but I am always lost of the history and timeline you are explaining. you do an excellent job at this I really do believe you are the one of the few man who is standing up to the devil plan. Mr David please stay safe and please make more videos. I.E. two books that I have.did the catholic church give us the bible and Looks What Missing.
Thank you
I had a good laugh😂😂😂
This is the oldest and most reliable bible ?
Great work brother.
Without you and your work I would probably have believed a lot of the lies from 'scholars ' and their fanboys..God bless you!
You are hilarious and persuasive.
Sunaiticus was a rough draft of the Bible. The first Bible came out after 382.
