Best to give the hint of using high temp primer and high temp paint…it’s always fun to build an engine…and watch all the paint heat up and bubble away on the first start up 😂
Nice to see someone else using paper when taping up an engine. Most everyone else uses tape on the whole thing. That painters tape has gotten crazy expensive! But I would use some earplugs on the bolt holes though!
The only problem with cars is the painting is like 1 percent of the whole process. The amount of prep work to get a panel or a whole car ready to spray is the other 99
During the prep process before a final wipe down with solvent ,I like to run a propane or mapp gas torch over the surfaces until you see it get warm enough for the condensing water to boil away. It helps draw the oils out of the metals pores, so it doesn't happen later on and ruin a paint job.
I second this! I use an old butane dab torch and it works. Probably slower than map gas but you can see everything come out and dry off. It’s a game changer!
Correct....If sun shining allowing to set in the sun even if cold out set in sun near window the radiant heat will suffice..... applying even cheaper enamel paint will lay down and last much longer...😎
ALL that's attention to detail,,,masking, prep temp (shop) sand blasting. Priming, rattle can perfection, pin striping, then you go all the out and give a us a 3.007 sec view of the end product..🤣
Used cabinets go for 500 bucks. Just saw one on FB marketplace yesterday. Brand new dude was just getting an upgrade. If you're broke then of course new shit is expensive. But if you're broke and want nice shit you're gonna have to buy bad shit and turn it into nice shit.
I must say I'm Amazed. You have a block turning crank to rotate that block around why didn't you paint it by rotating the block instead of leaving the Block in one position.? My engine stand is old school Hemi 454 size engine stand. It doesn't have that newfangled rotate the block on the stand crank handle. I must say I was disappointed.
Or you could just skip having to chase the threads by sticking foam ear plugs in the bolt holes. Just twist em up and stick them in the holes and let them expand. 👍
I save those used foam ear plugs in a container or buy cheap ones and use them in all the hole. Bonus you can reuse them after painting. Works excellent and way faster than chasing all those threaded holes.
Pro tip. Use ear plugs for bolt holes that are going to be used. Saves time chasing threads.
I like this idea! Noted ✍️

Cheap enamel works better than high heat paint.... especially if painted in the hot sun....
Looked suprisingly good

Would be such a fun job no lie, painting is such a satisfying past time.

Earplugs in the boltholes please. Primer plus one or two layers of paint means them bolts aren't going in easy
I've seen some Cummins KTA 1150 motors that were that color, and a KTA is a "hot rod" motor

Industrial Easy off oven cleaner, 2 applications, pants jobs last 20+ years.
@@daleslover2771love it for aluminum.

I did this once, and the block cracked! I no longer do this!
Damn I like that color it would look so good in my K10 Silverado that is saddle in color.
Cummins beige turns hot pink when you get it on the exhaust manifold.
Always cool when you lay down some coats paint on an engine that most wouldn't think of.
Just having a blaster without holes in the grating and hoses makes this guy a winner
Bro, you know what paint I want right!?
Beige... F***ing BEIGE!!!
Pro tip: don’t use the color beige
Ahhhhh now that looks clean😎🔥🔥
nice paint job engine looking 👍
I've said before but I'd love to put that engine in my 1985 dodge w100 classic
Nice industrial trash pump brown ya got there!
I like it,looks good 👍
I knew that was Cummins Beige lol. They should gone Cummins Marine Gray!
“People don’t associate beige with a hot rod” and now we see why 😂
That’s a beauty right there

It would have been nice to see the whole finished paint job.
Cummins beige is cool
It's a Ford, it doesn't matter what color you paint it.
I'm surprised they didn't use a hydroblaster instead of a sand blaster. The setup is a bit more expensive but amazing results.
If your valve cover has baffels for the ventilation. Do not sand blast.
I knew that colour looked familiar
I never thought a beige engine would look decent. Not bad
Biege? Is the engine going into an early model hummer for use in military desert engagements? Lol
Guess I gotta find another "signature color"
Finished up like a tank engine
👍👍
😮 ... Rattle cans? ... 😂😂🤣!! Nuff said ...
Engine painting tips
1: dont
NICE
How exciting, Public School Beige....,😟Your wives must use a LOT of batteries.
@user-qh6ul4bl3n Glad you got the vibe
I get Mormon vibes from this channel, not sure why lol. They know their stuff but the vibe is somehow unnatural.
Don't you need high temperature paint on the engine?
Yeah you were right it looks like grandpa's lunch suit.
Must be nice to have a 6 thousand dollar sand blaster.
They are like $500. Plus, ~$100 for the aluminum-safe specialty abrasives, and ~$75 for a dust vacuum that also recycles the abrasive.
@@cjwrench07 look up this particular brand. They start @ 4,000 and go up to 12,000.
@@cjwrench07 I don’t what your buying for 500$ but isn’t that blast cabinets.
I one very similar 4000$

Looked like a SBC he was priming.
there is a reason we don't sand blast engine parts...
Don't paint your engine like this, UA-cam a good tutorial, there are plenty out there.
Ford red ??
So now it looks like a Cummins

Even on a Cummins, that beige looks terrible 😂
Wow an engine painted to look like a bloody tofu poo
Looks like you stole the paint scheme from vgg just saying independence Chevelle
I respectfully disagree on the color choice
Looks like Ford 8N tractor
You're wrong about the beige.
Spider-Man?
So the threads are okay with paint in them? Or do you chase the threads in the timing cover afterwards
i would usually just chase the threads real quick before you go for final assembly
@Brandon lousy excuse for being lazy. The paint can effect torque values.
@@midnightrider1854 lol we must have posted at the same time. Looks like you won.
Somebody is definitely not a painter 😂
you guys couldn't make this a normal sized video? These shorts are so ridiculous........
Why is it ridiculous? I enjoyed it.
Damn that shit look PUTRID ngl
Yeah still not a fan of that beige though lol 😆
I know associate beige with stupid builder. Paint into the blind threaded holes?
Flesh colored paint on your engine no
Purdy.... ain't it 😎 just ain't it.... lols
Pro tip: live and work in a walking neighborhood and you won't have to worry about engines ever!
Great engine, horrible colour choice.
My grandfather's underpants are this colour
unsubbing due to vertical video tik tok 14 year old filming style
huh, peter parker also paints engines, neat.
Crappy looking color for the engine
