That's a good looking GTX. I've always loved the boxier cars for some strange reason.

From the UTG channel, a torch can heat the cast iron enough to wick out the last bit of condensation caught in the grain after cleaning with water as shown, but of course grinding the surface smooth helps. Masking off helps, but so does an old oil pan, timing cover and valve covers so long as their mounting surface is flush and seals. And when he says stick your accessory brackets in the oven to bake on the paint--not your wife's kitchen oven. You'd be unpleasantly surprised at how many folks don't pick up on that one.

As cool as the engine builds and chassis rebuilds are…
Ricks body and interior efforts are works of art

I concur with the cheap VHT route! Used it on 4 engine blocks, headers, and valve covers comes out very nice if done right. Taken old rusty pulleys and blocks made em look brand new!

When grinding away on that engine block, consider leaving the serial number. It comes in handy when trying to register that hot rod when you have to prove you really own those parts.

Far more important is painting the inside of the non-machined areas of the engine block.

Those wheels will 100% peel. They should have been blasted and sealed with epoxy primer/sealer.

Well yeah. There you get Scooby and Shaggy making trucks and some Carcass clowns. As much as I like Tommy, him and his cousin were pretty awful as well. If Amish Mike came back I would be so happy.
