Dare I say this man here is the best chef on UA-cam . I've grown tired of cooking videos that are too short because they speed through the recipe . It's like some chefs forget that the point of their videos is to teach others how to make recipes and you can't do that with a Gordon Ramsay video as they're too sped up to follow along with . Anyway thank you for the recipe I can't make it myself but it looks great .

My favourite starter in Greece, it was called love letter on the menu served with honey and sesame seeds with a shot of Ouzo

Very happy to see new episode for your English channel, it's a high quality video with 3 cameras. We are getting used to your daily live cooking "appointment" on Instagram :) When this crisis is over, we will definitely missed these live cooking. I am trying to make your Bougatsa sweet custard phyllo pie, hopefully it will turn out OK because I cannot find heavy cream so I will use more milk.
For those who mentioned that Akis lost his enthusiasms in his previous English videos, this is the current Akis, :) cooking away since the beginning of the pandemic. I remember Greece lock down started before the States & UK
I am looking at all his videos in Greek as well... like binging on Akis! But... I am Italian, I have some advantage... I probably understand like the 5% of what it is being said if there are not subtitles. I must study modern Greek. It is something that I have decided during this quarantine. :-)
@@andromacha83 I studied French for 6 weeks during summer in college, so I can pick up a few words. For example "salon"= living room, cuisine, tomato etc. Now I can count 1, 2,3 in Greek, LOL It's good that you want to learn Greek while in quarantine. I'm just trying more Greek phyllo pie recipe since I can't go to restaurants, imagine i"m on vacation in Santorini again.
@@worldcitizeng6507 I already know how to count from 1 to 20. My grandfather was in Greece during WW2 and this is one of the things that he taught me. Fond memories

I'm gonna step in your conversation guys, since you started the topic of linguistics, which is my passion, in this thread.
The hellenic language, what you call modern Greek, it is not something seperare from the ancient language, in fact it is a continuation, there are words in Homer's Odyssey and Iliad, which are used intact until today.
In English there are 41.615 words that stem directly from the hellenic language.
Regarding the word tomato, it's reborrowing, which is a process that has been happening between languages for a long time (tomato from aztecan, passed on to Spanish, English etc.)

I think this is better than his short YUM type videos. Everyone does those. It makes the production feel robotic, it's fast, clean, simple, but it lacks humanity and a unique personality/voice to go with it. I just came from his ITZAKI greek dip or whatever it's called. It seems his views are better with these type videos idkkkk

Well I got the feta, got the herbs... I am missing the phyllo!!!! OMG.... instructions to make it at home? Or is it impossible?
It is not the same.... You need a very thin phyllo.

Really? I'm in the U.S. (FL), and mine carries it -- it's in the frozen food.
on Akis older video, he has shown how to make phyllo from scratch, it's a lot of work....
here in CA, I can buy it in Albertson frozen section, but only during end of the year holiday entertaining season, so I stock it up in my freezer.
