This comes with english spanish and french directions instructions okay here's kind of the overall assembly so the pads right here basically on the the outside and that comes off comes apart like that this piece is we're going to remove this and then this piece gets removed by removing sliding this off the battery pack and then that screw right there and then we'll be able to fit this up to the door and then plug it into this thing but this just kind of fits over like that. It's gonna take four double a batteries okay your door um if it has a recessed area for this plate you can leave it on it'll sit in that recessed area the one i'm installing this on does not and so it's just going to go in just like this right into the hole there just like that that's how it'll fit up in there again if there was a recessed area around here you could put that plate on and drill it in but this just fits snug like that okay then we take this and that electrical cord and run that electrical cord through the hole too and then this is going to go right into here like that use two hands here but it's going to go right through there kind of underneath and that's going to fit up right in there just remove the battery pack cover and we'll go ahead and remove this screw here okay just loosen that screw now this plate will come off and the chip piece from the other half of this go plugs right into there and then this will go on it'll go through this hole too we're going to mount this we're going to mount that just like that that's what these screws are for all right one thing i want to point out here instead of coming underneath that you want to come up over that because when you put that plate on there it's going to give you more room to plug that in okay make sure this rubber gasket is in place there too okay now we're gonna we're gonna install this plate to the door and so this one this one here this self-tapping screw is gonna go through here and it's actually optional this screw right here this self-tapping screw goes through here and is optional i'm going to go ahead and use that option and then here these two silver ones are going to go through here and and screw into the actual the other side of this okay so after this plate goes on these two screws are going to screw right into here and the plate just goes on just like this just wrap that thing through there and set it up there so don't screw this one in if you are going to use that option don't do that one first you want to make sure your screws down here your holes line up and you get those installed first I'd say to make sure when you install this too before you do any of the screwing that this is in the vertical position like it is all right now it's time to connect this piece up okay now this is going to fit on there a couple it's going to secure a couple ways so we're going to put we're going to plug the chip in plug that in right there the connector and then these screws here are going to go right into there and then there'll be another one like i pointed out before for down below so we'll go ahead and do that connect this first. Ok got that in there now tighten that down now this one's just going to go right over here that's just going to go right down here. All right next is just time to test the functionality test the lock it's nice and smooth that's good no hang up there over there here's the lock maybe it's going to be connected to work oh yeah actually there we go i know what the deal is there so here's the there's the lock and then you go this side then we lock it and then okay so that does work perfect and this side always turns no matter what the test is here locked they're unlocked locked perfect i'll leave it unlocked for now. We're just going to install four double a batteries and put the cover on as soon as i put the batteries in it went beep beep let me just slide that cover right on there we go that's how you do it now it's time to program this thing. - Навчання та стиль
thanks so much for this video! it really helped me with a bit of confusion I had
HI Charlie, glad to hear it and thanks for letting me know=)
Thank you sir! This really helped me out :D
Glad to hear it! Thanks for letting me know :)
Can the mounting bracket be attached without screws and instead with 3M command adhesive or something like that? Not really excited sight drilling holes in the door…
I think it’s possible but havn’t tried it myself. Worth a shot!
@@DIYTechnician ok cool. Also wondering if I even need the mounting screw at all since it attaches to the backside anyways through the two side screws
@@coreygella5756 well I’d say it’s worth a try. :)
Thanks came here because the brand I was using was pretty much the same thing but confusing instructions
Which part are you hung up on?
Can this type of a digital keypad work on a RV
I don’t think so. At least not on the ones I have seen. Seems most of those have a latch on them vs a door knob. If the RV door has an actual door knob on it than I think it could work.
Can I install the battery side upside down? It hits the deadbolt otherwise
I’d say give it a try but I’m doubtful. Just my gut feeling though. If you try it, please let me know if it works!
Same problem 😩
When the door is locked, after you enter the code to unlock the door, is the door still remain locked at that point or unlocked? For the Schlage brand, after entering the code to unlock the door, the door remains locked until you reach over to rotate the lever to unlock.
We’re you able to do a DIY fix on it?
@@DIYTechnician Yes. This brand has the unlocking feature I wanted. But there is an issue with the second one I bought afterwards. I’m not sure if I received a defective one or the way the installation went as a whole, when the door is locked, the door becomes unlock if you continued to turn the knob back in forth. It’s very scary. Any thoughts? I may have to send it back and I don’t want to.
@@christopherowens2635 I think of it we’re me I’d try to start over to make sure I’d done all the steps right. It no luck then, I’d send it back bc I agree with you, that shouldn’t happen. I hadn’t come across this same issue yet. If you do happen to find the solution please do let me know. Good luck to you and wish I had the magic fix.
@@DIYTechnician Thanks. I will keep you posted.
My deadbolt is too low 😩
Awe bummer.
