- Bagging Books Part 8 - Beautiful Vintage Penguin Catalogues + Order Forms - Part 2
In today's video I start bagging up the second half of my vintage Penguin Books and related order forms and catalogues. These truly are beautiful and a delight to behold. These start from the mid 1940's and go right up into this century. I am using a combination of dedicated paperback bags that I bought off Amazon, comic bags, mylar bags and boards, all sorts.

For the blue penguin bag, you cut a cardboard backer to just the right size and put it in the bag, then you could see both sides.
Great idea 🙂
No paperback bags in stock. Someone must have been using a large number recently for suppliers to have run out 😮
Maybe Simon. Try Dorset Bob at mrbook451@outlook.com I bought 400 off him last month. He may have some left.
Great to see all those old collections of cataloges and documents collected and preserved nice one Jules. Just starting bagging my fav secondhand finds with the bags you suggested early on thank you.

Cool swag!
Thanks Bob👍
Wow, quite the collection!!!
Thanks my friend, just the bigger catalogues left to bag now!
Incredible collection! The reading case 😍
Thanks, I'd love a few more of those....🙂
I remember pre internet we used BC but also had book values on microphise which we got updated versions of every so often + auction record book catalogues which came out every year and were hardbacks in red.
I vaguely remember seeing the microphise readers in older bookstores I worked in. As soon as the internet came in they became redundant.
Very cool .21:00 the place ment of the titular Penguin title strip . Naughty Penguin, well played 😉 . I had a number of the Penguin 60s . " had " is the word . I wonder if a bit of both sided tape will help with the book marker. ( but mayhaps not....tape and/ on paper may not be good ). Thanks for the show and tell .
Thanks Sylvan! Those Penguin 60's were great you know🙂
Where could I find a Book Collector like the one from 1952 you showed.
I've only ever seen the one, that's the one I've got. eBay would be your best bet but it might take a while.
I have a complete set of the book collector from from 1952 some of the articles are priceless with so many famous authors.. the other one I like is the London magazine this too has some amazing articles.. some of the book collector are very expensive now as are the London magazine £100-£200 plus a copy
@darren6768 wow, I had no idea they could be worth that sort of money. I bet they contain some really fascinating stuff.
