I've seen few few of your video's truly love them, really good stuff. I've also recently got into bagging, hopefully the generation to come will appreciate it.
I'm usually inundated with Outlaw Bookseller video, I love ol' Stephen - 'es off on hiatus for a spell.

Thanks Erik, glad you're enjoying the videos while Steve is on his holidays🙂 We're good friends and used to work together back in the day. I do enjoy bagging my books these days. It's really satisfying and they look so good.

I was told by an antiquarian book collector never to put books in bags as it traps moisture and encourages rotting of the paper, instead old books should just have a single sheet over the jacket made from Acid free plastic.

That's true for hardbacks tbh but with my fragile wartime Penguins, these bags, for now, are the best way forward.

@@JulesBurt hardbacks or paperbacks they sadly still rot quickly when they can’t breathe, I store all my penguins in a large glass fronted bookcase that way they can still breathe but dust is kept to a minimum.

@alfienoalkes1 that would be ideal, however, I have 15,000 of them and just not practical.

@@JulesBurt I have a similar amount sadly not all in cases, but my 1000 + vintage penguins are all behind glass.

What kind of brush are you using to dust your books off?

    • @JulesBurt

I use a soft shoe brush. The bristles aren't too abrasive but they do the trick.
