- Silverstone Auctions next big sale is this Saturday, 21st September, at the IXL Events Centre, Dallas Burston Polo Club near Coventry and I was these yesterday to do a quick preview of some of the cars in the sale. Friday is viewing day, which is also possible on Saturday morning. The car auction starts at 12:30pm prompt on Saturday 21st September, with the Ferraris being sold first, then the Porsche from around 2:30pm on.

I did smile at the way it was a given that Harry had to decide which car was second to the F1.
Depends entirely on what you think constitute as a good car.

Agreed, but keep in mind it's a Left Hand Drive in the UK. A Right Hand Drive would've been significantly higher.

@@mohammedhussain4907 I don't know about that, being left-hand drive makes it viable for other european countries, which means more potential buyers than a RHD car.
TriHard Cx They’ve got another 550m RHD with similar miles for auction and are estimating more than double the price for it. As UK registered cars I think they will attract mainly UK buyers rather than foreign buyers.

£600-£700k for a Carrera GT is an absolute steal! They're definitely going to increase in value as everything goes electric/hybrid. Good investment

Spent a week watching all those bs supercar "influencer" channels and then I got the notification for Harry running through lots for silverstone auctions. Life's not all bad..............
By supercar influencer you mean "Hi guys I'm shmeeeeee"? 😆
Marcus Hogan there is never a reason to watch the influencers. They couldn’t discuss the important things about cars (suspension, engine) to save their lives. Some of them even “review” cars without even basic knowledge about them.

@@777jones They think that because they can rhyme off basic facts and figures and can afford supercars that they're true petrolheads, ask them to name the four stages of an internal combustion engine and they'd probably cry. "Yes it's great that you can tell your viewers how stiff carbon fibre is, now can you change a spark plug????"

Perhaps the brightest gem of the lot is you Harry. Your keen eye for models of significance, and their "true" non-intrinsic value, remains unrivaled. Only a person possessing a genuine passion, appreciation, and knowledge-base, could pull off these past 17 minutes. In many respects, Silverstone at the IXL this weekend, will be like a fire sale at a flea market. Put your wire department on speed dial; and please let us know if temptation has prevailed.

6-speed manual Ferrari 599 for 400k, not surprising. The last front-engined naturally-aspirated V12 manual Ferrari. It could easily fetch 600k in another 10 years.
Unlikely as the manual box loving generation is getting smaller not larger. The 599’s flywheel is optimised for the F1 box so it’s not even a nice drive. Have driven both examples and it’s clear the manual box is an afterthought.

I would sell a large part of my soul for a manual 599.
Me too. If I had a couple of million I would try to get it and the Carrera GT plus that 550. All manual, all awesome cars to have.

Is your soul properly serviced? What's the mileage?
Then what? You'd still need insurance, money for gasoline, and a service every 10.000 km, not to mention deal with the depreciation.
And a place to store it(You can't street park a Ferrari without it getting dinged).
Even when your driving it, your gonna have to deal with crowds and generally just ppl leaning on the car.

Damn, I remember the Porsche GT being £320k new. They dropped as low as £250k a few years later and I recall wishing I had the money to buy one because I knew they would shoot up in value. Limited edition, manual, V10 hypercar. No brainer. They'll be £1m within the next 5-10 years.

It's nice to see cars for real budgets there, I love my 91 944 Turbo. It's got one of my favorite manual gearboxes, perfect 50/50 weight distribution and with a few tasteful mods is a amazing car that I feel I'll do ok to sell on too.

The Carrera GT is perhaps the most beautiful car Porsche has ever made. Every angle is perfect...also, it was the top tier car in the greatest racing video game ever made, Need for Speed: Most Wanted. It's quite the legend.

The Pozzi blue LHD 550 is a Japanese car that's been imported to the UK and has little history. Bidding hit £46K (before commission) at an auction around a month ago and it was a no sale.
Carrera GT is one of the best investment
The CGT is an absolute steal at 600k. I can't believe they are still going for that money. The 550 also great value as is the 512M if it goes at the guide price. Shame I don't have any money!

A low mileage dark blue manual LHD Ferrari 550 for 60000 pounds? I don't think I was ever as tempted as I am by this car.
