“One of the kindest and most compassionate people we know” says his mom …. about a man who prescribed drugs to an addict and cheated on his wife with her. Yeah, ok.
Matthew's mother says he is one of the "kindest, most compassionate" persons she knows. A man who is kind and compassionate does not betray his wife and mother of his 4 children by committing adultery. I also love how earlier in the video the mother describes Alex say, "she knew he was married; she knew he had 4 children" as if she was the problem. Did not her son know he was married and that he had 4 children and that he was committing adultery?
A man with a wife and four kids sleeping and financially supporting another woman on the side isn't because he's a good friend not expecting something in return
People's lives change with time? Someone can be depressed at one point in life and then that depression can ease/clear up? Like, this is not unusual at all.
It almost never ends well. So many people in the world and they have to go after the married ones. A man willing to cheat on his wife will also cheat on you.
if a friend said my bf was beating me up I would call police, I would not drive to her myself over 3 hours and deal with the man myself. how ridiculous
Not to mention, she didn’t have a mark on her. I’m not sure I even believe that story. I don’t know about MN but in a lot of states scrips like Adderall can’t be called in, they have to be in person, so he may have actually been there to deliver them and not anything to do with her BF.
Most people would call the police first to do a welfare check in case the boyfriendmight do something to her in those 3 hours it would take me to get there
One thing that was not answered and made me think about: is who she was texting with at the entrance of the apartment building? If Shane lost his phone, could they not subpoena his phone carrier for that information? And if Alex’s phone was locked, same thing, could they not have sent a subpoena to her phone service provider to see phone numbers that she was communicating with? I would thick this information would be out there somewhere.
“She knew he was married. She knew he had four children.” Okay well apparently your son forgot about them and HE did the stepping out on his family. So. Paint the dead woman however you want, your son looks no better. 🙄
What a bitter woman. I couldn't believe she said that, trying to paint that Alex was the only one in the wrong. Yes your son who stepped out on his entire family did no wrong - definitely some denial going on there.
Such a sad situation all-around. So many true-crime stories involving cheating. I wonder if they would ever consider making it illegal/an offense again. Yes, I know it sounds outdated, yet perhaps would curtail even some of these horrible scenarios.
Yeah, and you don't automatically throw a punch at someone just because they got in your face lol. I'm a former kickboxer and I wouldn't even care if someone got in my face.
You're a married man with children and you're driving two plus hours toting a gun to go confront your mistress's boyfriend. Does this sound like something a normal person would do?
Exactly. And it was night time, like need to be getting ready for bed with your wife and tucking your kids into bed, time. He drives 3 hours away from his family with a briefcase that has a gun in it to go confront this guy who's supposedly causing his ex mistress issues ... After the bar altercation he goes to his ex mistresses appt with her and is clearly in an argument with her before going to the appt for the last time .. what was she talking about on her phone? Why couldn't a phone tech of sorts break into her phone? What did dude go outside to do or check on and then come back inside, tell Alex something that obviously ticked her off and follow her back upstairs... It all just isn't making sense. And now I want to know more lol I'm sorry to the family who lost a loved one and I know they want to point the finger at someone but why aren't they wanting the story to be clearer also? To know the truth... ....make it make sense 😐
3 damaged people. Drug addict woman, cheating man who controlled her with drugs, new violent man who thought a drug addict was perfect. No good can come from that.
I doubt he controlled her with drugs bc he helped call in her Prozac refills. Nothing illicit or illegal was done by Matthew prior to “homicide” with no motive
@@jbonniebanks A good husband and father working a full time job and helping his wife with 4 kids wouldve been too exhausted to drive 3 hours anywhere for anything.
It’s weird that her bf “lost” his phone the same night that she died. Prosecution claims he shot her from a distance, but the ME said “undetermined”. Why couldn’t the ME determine how far the gun was from her head? There are too many missing pieces of information. The whole thing is weird.
Ya there’s a lot of questions not answered that are musts! Like why couldn’t they break into her phone like they do all the time. Also the gun residue on her hand! No I don’t believe he did it there’s not enough evidence to convict him in my eyes
(*of course assuming the spouse isn’t a toxic abuser, in which case, make a plan of safe physical escape, instead of the imaginary escape of a secret lover’s arms )
All I can say from any of this... its Minnesota. We've all seen how Minnesota recreates and MAKES someone guilty and releases true criminals to repeat their crimes.... over and over and over.
@ it’s not only MN, every state keeps releasing criminals otherwise there would be no such thing as “career criminals” or “repeat offenders”. It’s amazing given that it’s common knowledge that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. That’s what baffles me the most about not allowing prior bad acts to be brought up in trials. It’s ridiculous!
The fact that she continued staying at the bar with Matthew for another hour like nothing had happened shows how toxic all three of them were. I would not be able to shake off the fight and my night would have been over right there.
That's exactly what I was thinking. With all due respect as she's no more but the way she was sitting for drinks or walking around after such a big fight? I felt there's more to the story!
@@johannab7715 her family are totally deluded. As are her friends. Yeah, she might have been a spitfire when she was a teenager but her being went toxic and her battle with depression- and drugs - took over. Affair with not just a married man but a man with four - FOUR! - young children. And this guy she was supposedly over the moon with who punched him in the bar…and she continues on with him after this incident like it never happened. Honestly, I was disappointed how 48 Hours presented this episode. Not very “investigative” at all but rather propaganda for the deceased and the deceased’s family. I turned it off at the end when they started going on about how they remember her.
The boyfriend: only dating 4 months & he's punching her walls & her guy friend. 🚩 The guy "friend" : paying her bills, had an affair with her, sketchy behavior. 🚩
I am sorry, but there is one main thing that always bugs me when watching these shows, and it's the "you don't use a gun with your non-dominate hand" I am a righthanded person, but when shooting, both bow draw and gun, I actually use my left hand. I also have several friends who shoot with their non-dominate hand. So please stop stating this as fact.
I told a friend who was a psychiatrist that one of my adult students was a psychologist that was completely loopy, and he said that’s totally normal. He said he became a psychiatrist to deal with his own issues.
I like how everyone who dies/gets killed on these shows is remembered for being the best person who ever graced the planet....they light up rooms, are strong and independent, and walked between the rain drops...then you find out they are monkey branching with men, being shady, and surround themselves with drama.
I cannot believe that authorities were unable to break into her cell phone _b/c they couldn't figure out her password._ Oh, c'mon. Right there, this case is not as straight forward as it should be.
@@saraha.1422Well, except that the mother says she knew he was having an affair and cheating on wife and four kids! Sure, sure, what a great person he is.
@@TamiTribbiani-im1go no idiot.. my comment specifically said 'hurt'. Hurt can be both a physical and mental thing! The mental issues those kids will feel for years to come. 😢
Without a doubt. Listening to all of these parents, siblings and friends trying to make a case for any one of these toxic individuals makes me want to gag. And to top it off, two of these people were considered worthy of being a nurse/nurse practitioner, despite Alex being addicted to many drugs and the NP walking around with a loaded gun on a regular basis. This shows you the level to which the United States has sunk, and it's not a pretty sight.
Go home and hang out with your kids. Read to them and play with them! Why are you three hours away with some woman fighting with her boyfriend? Shows you don’t treasure your family at all.
And they knew he was cheating and didn't tell her. I love how the mom was like, "She knew he was married and had kids." Well, guess what lady, your SON (the husband and father) knew he was married and had kids. Way to try to shift the responsibility. Yeah, your son did it. Look at who his parents are.
@@gigilamoore2656whoa, hoss. You’re also transferring the son’s adult behavior onto the parents. By that logic, Alex’s parents must be suicidal addicts. You’re judging others too harshly I think.
@@CJBroonieShe's not transferring the blame. The son is a cheater, but parents knew and covered up for him. People with morals wouldn't protect him. It says a lot about their character. The wife is right about not allowing any access to her children. She knows they can't be trusted.
The delusion in this episode for each person is next level! “It’s completely against their character” then proceeds to give specific examples of how it’s exactly their character…. A mess.
I love it too! On other shows I fast forward the beginning music/intro, but never on this one. Like you said, it sets the tone and gives me goosebumps before the killing ever starts.
@francesmcstay ... Yes, it always sets just the right atmosphere, to draw me in to whatever story unfolds. Personally I think it's the very best crime series ever on UA-cam.
Unpopular view perhaps, but I don't believe this was proved beyond reasonable doubt. 1. The prosecution assertion that he fired behind the door (thus no blood splatter on him) means that he would have fired blind and hit her in the side temple with 1 shot. That is far fetched. Nor was it ever stated whether there were flash burns at the wound to indicate whether it was a short or long range discharge. Was there or not? And why no test of the door for blood spatter residue nor evidence of any cleaning agent in the apartment? 2. If her legs were far enough apart, (i.e her left foot was past the door frame), opening it would *not* sweep both legs. 3. Police labs can hack a phone. Saying they couldn't get into the phone and the BF conveniently losing his phone at the same time reeks of evidence suppression. 4. Those with a history of past suicide attempts and substance abuse have a 37% likelihood of trying again according to the National Institute of Health. That's a huge number and increases the burden of proof not lessens it. Can't convict a person if you're 50%-70%--80% "sure." Beyond reasonable doubt is 95%+...and this wasn't.
You know what? She sounds EXACTLY like Cindy Watts, Chris's mother! She blamed Sha'nnan for everything too, whike her precious boy was innocent. Matthew and his mother probably had a semi-incestuous relationship too. Matthew's wife and myabe his kids are lucky he is in jail becaused he probably would have offed them.
Exactly! And her son just forgot about his wife or what?? It makes my blood boil when people pretend that the uncommitted person in an affair is the one responsible.
"It's not in his character." He's married with 4 young kids and had an affair with his co-worker drug addict and lending her loads of money and running around with her with a loaded gun at 2am. LOL. His character is just impeccable!
right !alcohol , aggression, and guns are just the ticket. his family grosses me out how much they excuse his actions. even how they say she badgers him for meds. like he's just this weak poor pushover

Knowing only what I've seen in the video, I would have acquitted Matthew. He might be guilty, but there was not enough information to conclusively send a man away for 30 years. There was a lot of supposition on the part of the prosecution.
I don't think we got the whole story here. It seems like there's some more to tell about the relationship with the boyfriend who clearly had some anger issues. Also all 3 people in this episode are shady AF so anything could have happened

Exactly. I wonder how many innocent people are in jail because of assumptions. 3 times the legal limit of alcohol & drugs and history of suicide attempts? Not far fetched to assume she could have done this to herself
@@taradetrick5264 First off, this is tragedy for all parties involved. However, I am still confused what they concluded was the motive and the evidence that he had shot her. Was it because the pew pew was in the left hand?
I’ve got to disagree with most of the folks in the comments. I think it’s highly likely that she shot herself. Addictions, suicidal history, a violent boyfriend, she can’t hold down a job and clearly had some serious mental health problems. I think he panicked, he knew it was going to look bad for him because he had prescribed medications for her and had had a relationship with her. He made some bad choices in the moment, but I think he panicked. The so-called bathroom evidence is flimsy to say the least, I stand by his innocence.
I don't do theories. I need concrete evidence to convict. She was depressed, suicidal, unemployed and broke. She shoots herself in the bathroom. He's scared. Why wouldn't he be?! He's a married man in another woman's apartment who just killed herself. I saw absolutely no evidence that he killed her or even why he would want to.
He’s married with kids but drove three hours for another woman? Come on now. An ex boyfriend cheated on me decades back, telling me a coworker was being abused by her Dad and he needed to “help her”. Bull crap.
Poor girl was a hit mess. Addicted, dating a violent men and lover to a married drug dealer who always carried a gun, also violent. It had a huge chance someone would ended up hurt.
These parents who are so out of touch! The Mom keeps a straight face as she says 'they ended the physical affair but were friends'. The Mom said Alex had turned her life around after graduation. Really?!? So you never suspected she got certificate to have better access to drugs?! Hard facts for whomever feels offended. I'm sick of all the sugarcoating BS!
Having her affair partner writing Rx, he was targeted for that propose. Pay attention . Fighting current boyfriend to move in, as she needed someone to pay her rent. Alex used men, and that has always been dangerous as they tend to be more violent than Women. History is full of these stories.
I’ve actually heard of this in other cases. It’s usually an iPhone that has security features that are very hard to circumvent - especially on a Lock Screen. I saw one case where a detective spent over 9 months trying different passwords. As she learned more about the victim, she had more material to work with. Finally, she managed to guess the correct password. I was amazed. I guess like many, I believed there was some special feature that enabled law enforcement to get into a locked phone. It’s totally within the realm of possibility for them to truly be locked out. It must be APPLE’s way of marketing to a special population of customers - criminals! 😂
The story didn’t make sense from sentence one. Matthew got a call from a female friend that she was being physically assaulted by a man, and instead of calling the cops who would have got there in minutes, he drove three hours with a gun to “save her.
I can’t stand when parents say “It’s something my child wouldn’t do” Sorry To Let Yall Know That Yall Don’t Know Yall Kids Like Yall Think.! Yall Are Not With Them 24/7
Then strangers cannot know them at all. No one is with anyone 24/7. Parents know your character and know your capabilities more than most people, as they have witness you grow.
@@ss-wu1vpI beg to differ. After a certain age, most parents can't speak to most of the things their ADULT child is doing. Especially, if they are living away from home.
i love how you are now uploading several episodes in a week. your episodes are always amazing, though it is sad that they always mean one more person lost his or her life.
The BF is shady as hell! He didn’t know who the guy was so he just walked up and immediately punched him?! Why would that be his first response? And he says that’s not characteristic of him but he punched the holes in the door? I’m sure he’ll blame it on alcohol but that’s no excuse, imo. The BF sounds like a loose cannon!
He didn't immediately punch him, he punches Matthew when he steps between him and his girlfriend and puts a hand on him. Unnecessary but it wasn't immediate. Either way it doesn't matter as he wasn't there when she died.
The BF was totally shady. Punching a wall just a couple months into a relationship is a HUGE red flag. And yeah, that sucker punch at the bar was the response of a violent person with anger issues. Geez, if Matthew hadn't killed her, her BF sure might have!
Killers give themselves away with fake, no-tears crying and a story filled with too many details. And who chooses to wash their hands before calling 911? RIP, Alex.
very well stated alisong. one of the "problems with these shows, good as they are, is that as soon as you hear the fake crying, you know which way this is going. and then you have everything else. the dry sink, etc....
This mentally unstable, drug addicted person with a history of suicide attempts, in a state of anger and anxiety (clearly visible on security footage) after a literal fight with her abusive boyfriend, killed herself using her friend's gun. And this guy is taking the fall. Yes he's a fool but he isnt guilty of shooting her. He is guilty of trying to cover up that she used HIS gun. The odd position of her body, hand, gun, the ring underneath her, washing his hands all point to his attempt to remove his gun from the scene until he figured out the stupidity in that.
He is. They were 2 more hours at the bar, she had time to calm down after the fight. And she became angry again ONLY after they went back down to the car of the guy and then something happened, maybe she threathened him to come forward to the family with the affair. Boooom... enough?

I'm an RN specialist in mental health, antidepressants can have side effects like making the person aggressive or even more depressed , my impression is that Alex killed herself as a result of the medication secondary effects . There is nothing indicating that her ex boyfriend killed her. Also proof that she was mentally unstable is that her second boyfriend was aggressive with her punching holes at her apartment doors .An innocent man is in jail.
I just looked up metoprolol--what do you make of her being on that one? A beta blocker for heart issues or migraine. Is there some reason an addict would want that medication?
@@AmorDivino-e5q yeah, those can cause suicidal ideation. I guess I'm just curious about the other meds and what was going on with Alex's health. Probably not important to the case. I'm still also surprised that no one has talked about how Alex began work as a nurse at a walk-in clinic in 2020, when the pandemic started. Being in healthcare during the worst of the pandemic must have had some impact on her and her mental health.
I don't believe the boyfriend, Shane, didn't have his phone, and law enforcement can use technology to break into locked phones. I think they just wanted this to be an easy open and shut case. Mathew may have been wrongfully convicted.
He's hiding his face a lot because he's not actually crying tears. When he's on the elevator with them, he bends forward and fake cries, hiding his face. When he's sitting on the ground "crying" he's mostly covering his face. Big red flag...
I don’t think they proved without a shadow of a doubt that Matthew was guilty. He doesn’t sound like a stellar guy- cheating on his wife but the deceased seemed to have a precarious emotional state
All 3 people in this are not shining lights that lit up a room, they are all POS’s, especially the married man with 4 children hanging out with a drug addict and paying her rent. His wife and kids and her cats are the ones I feel bad for. Where did he tell his wife he was going? His family is in denial his choices ruined their relationship with his kids.
When he addressed her "A girl" when he called 911 you know he's the one who did it 😤 And no innocent or concerned person washed their hands first before calling for help 😔
Agree. I noticed that too, he was trying to distance himself from her. Then he's covering his tracks by saying he washed his hands and they haven't even asked him if he washed his hands or why his hands are clean. Guilty conscious.
Don’t you just love. How Matthew’s mommy said, “Alex knew that he was married. When she started dating him”!! Yep lady!! Your son knew it too!! And still did it. That doesn’t mean it’s all on her. With the amount of substances and alcohol in her system, it is a recipe for disaster. This girl was a complete wreck and now someone else is paying for her intoxicated decisions. Horrible.
I wasn't 100% either at first. I was thinking actually that as a right handed person myself, my instinct would be to use my right hand to charge (rack?) the gun (sorry if my terminology isn't correct) and I'd have no problem then pointing it and pulling the trigger with my left. I do think him washing his hands and changing his story with cops though (put the gun in his case and then back on her??) was too odd. That swung to guilty then for me.
I am still undecided, but feel based on what was presented in the case against him nowhere near reaches the bar of 'beyond a reasonable doubt' that is supposed to be met to find someone guilty.
Something else never mentioned. If he truly thought she was so depressed and potentially suicidal, why on earth would he leave a loaded firearm where she could grab it? It should have been holstered or locked and unloaded. That in itself is criminal negligence and reckless endangerment.
Looked to me like he went to his car at 2am and retrieved the gun. All during this argument and his blind jealous rage. He couldn't be with her, but wasn't wanting anyone else with her.
that her parents would want someone put into prison because they don't want to think their emotionally unstable daughter might have committed suicide is understandable but terrible. The logic that her body wasn't moved (her legs, her head) when he was trying to save her life doesn't make sense and leaves so much reasonable doubt, as does the idea that a right-handed person wouldn't shoot themselves with their left hand, as if shooting oneself is the same as holding a fork or writing a letter. I'm not saying it isn't possible the guy killed her, but it doesn't seem proven
I am left-handed, but right-eye dominant and I shoot with my right hand. Not that weird to shoot with your non dominant hand. But all of this sounds sketch, lots of red flags with all 3 people
Alex manipulated everyone bc of addiction. It doesn’t mean she wasn’t a good person underneath, but Matt gets texts from her clearly indicating she was suicidal, but also wanting meds. He is guilty & goes out of his way bc of guilt. She manipulated the encounter at bar with boyfriend who was a violent idiot, and Matt looks to be an upstanding dude, but he has been paying her rent, getting her meds, and allowing her to drink with those meds in her system. With 4 children & wife at home. A lot of alcohol & emotions, and dumb decisions.
It seems like they went to bars looking for her bf so Matthew could confront him. When they got back the probably had a argument cause he found out she set him up in the bar to make her bf jealous. They probably got into a heated argument. She had a argument with her bf on the phone. She unalived herself during a further argument in the apartment or Matthew unalived her. What for damn sure Matthew is hiding something & lying? Who replaces the gun like that? The high risk life Alex led cause her death. 3 toxic ppl using & abusing each other, add alcohol & drugs & it was the perfect powder keg for things to go awfully wrong.
“Arguing like a married couple.” That’s a sad statement in itself. I feel really blessed that I don’t have that kind of marriage. Saddens me how he said it as though it’s just a common thing that couples fight to the level of punching holes in a door.
I agree too. Something doesn't seem right in the case. Welp if he is innocent I'm sure he's really regretting his life choices. He could have been honest and faithful to his wife and children and he wouldn't be in this situation. 🤷♀️
I hate watching an innocent man put in jail! That girl was a walking mess, who had a drug and alcohol addictions! She called HIM asking for help! I hope this gets over ruled on appeal!!!! I hope other people learn from this- don’t get involved with crazy or addicted people.
Way too many questions & reasonable doubt- for starters, he reached around the door to shoot her (blindly, yet perfectly) in the temple & that's why there's no blood splatter? And even though he washed his hands (there's more than one sink in that apartment, & they never mentioned the other one!) He still would've had gsr on his arm & sleeve- he couldn't have washed that off! Also, there was no mention of testing the distance at which the gun was fired from her head or the angle, I feel like those are pretty pertinent pieces of information for determining guilt. And if he was just "feeding her addiction" by refilling her meds, then why did he refill ALL of her meds- including the antidepressants? Then there's the whole door ring thing being underneath her, which has several possibilities. Her violent p$ycho bf could've busted that off beforehand on one of his "not-like-him" nights while fighting with her, it could've been kicked or shuffled around by the cops, paramedics, or even when the ME moved her body! Finally, and this is the one that gets me, the ME couldn't even rule her death one way or the other. It was ruled "undetermined." I don't know what that jury was thinking, but there's just too many questions left unanswered & too many things that don't point conclusively one way or the other!
He was in shorts on the pictures and I doubt he went in shorts to the bar, cause they were wearing wintercoats. So he undressed obviously. It is a mistake from the cops that they did not ask him, why are you in shorts when you are wearing different clothes on the surveillence camera pictures? He is a nurse so he knows how to wash his hands not to find GSR on his hadns and arm, and clothes.
@@iammz81 he changed when they came back. It's all in the police transcripts. Simply rinsing with water will not wash off any and all traces of GSR. The prosecutors ignored the standards of circumstantial evidence review in MN. He will be exonnerated.
I'm very confused why it is never addressed that when he went into her apartment he was wearing jeans and boots yet when the police get there he's in shorts and sandals! Where are the jeans and boots?
A tale as old as time: Matt still wanted to be with Alex, she still wanted to be with Shane. Matt was probably mad that she wanted to be with Shane after all their fighting- plus Matt kept helping her with prescriptions, money, etc... so he thinks "why would you pick him over me"? That's my theory of what they were fighting about after the bar- what could've possibly been his motive. Strange case but i definitely think Matt is guilty.

I’d love the wife to weigh in on if she suspects his guilt. I get that the boyfriend’s phone might have been missing that night but have they not gotten into the cloud or downloaded HER phone? Id like to know how she convinced him to come to town and go drinking while she was on meds. I’d also like to know exactly how he broke down the door and if there was blood on the back of the door as they speculated his position. Was the kitchen sink dry? He is. They were 2 more hours at the bar, she had time to calm down after the fight. And she became angry again ONLY after they went back down to the car of the guy and then something happened, maybe she threathened him to come forward to the family with the affair. Boooom... enough?
I feel the investigation could have been better. Why couldn't there have been phone records gathered to see who she was texting? This seems to me the most vital piece to be investigated.
Yes!!
@@rhondahart2416 they did have the records, remember the texts about scrips? I think they just didn’t have access to the phone the day of when they conducted the initial interview and too k his statement. They did have them before trial though.

@@angel2000317 I'm talking about anti depressants secundary effects.
And alcohol!!! Mixing prescription drugs with ALCOHOL!!
was also thinking this, she was also drinking alcohol
I don't believe the boyfriend, Shane, didn't have his phone, and law enforcement can use technology to break into locked phones. I think they just wanted this to be an easy open and shut case. Mathew may have been wrongfully convicted.
He's hiding his face a lot because he's not actually crying tears. When he's on the elevator with them, he bends forward and fake cries, hiding his face. When he's sitting on the ground "crying" he's mostly covering his face. Big red flag...
Human behavior is not a red flag, especially after something tragic.
I would have thought driving 2+ hours and cheating on his wife and family was the big red flag ... but what do I know
I don’t think they proved without a shadow of a doubt that Matthew was guilty.
She was on Prozac and drinking.. this story is too much
Most of the US population is on antidepressants and are drinkers.....
From personal experience it’s a horrible experience
I thought the same thing. All 3 of these people were train wrecks!!!!
When he addressed her "A girl" when he called 911 you know he's the one who did it 😤

Yes I caught that too!!
People need to stop making these idiotic leaps. Neither of those things indicate guilt.
Alex's parents seem like really nice people. My condolences to them.

Don’t you just love. How Matthew’s mommy said, “Alex knew that he was married. When she started dating him”!! Yep lady!! Your son knew it too!! And still did it. That doesn’t mean it’s all on her. He had a choice of stepping out on his wife and kid’s!! And did it!! You & your husband raised a real winner. There is no doubt in my mind. That the jury got it right!!
And thank God his ex wife. Is smart enough. To keep that family away from her children!! I hope she is able to heal from all of this trauma. That he inflicted on them.

With the amount of substances and alcohol in her system, it is a recipe for disaster. This girl was a complete wreck and now someone else is paying for her intoxicated decisions. Horrible.
Hmm. Not entirely sure this one is guilty.
Innocent this is scary
Me either.

The way Alex demanded those drugs, the message that changed her demeanor begs for reasonable doubt
Hmm. Im not sure he's guilty.. at least based on the evidence shown here
Agree
that her parents would want someone put into prison because they don't want to think their emotionally unstable daughter might have committed suicide is understandable but terrible.
But all of this sounds sketch, lots of red flags with all 3 people
i’m left-handed and right eye dominant (primarily right hand shooter)! 😊 haven’t met anyone else like that!
Right. I write with my right hand and do almost everything else with my left hand
I am too. When the detective said people don't shoot with their non dominant hand, I was thinking that can't be the case for everyone!
Same here. I write and eat with my left hand. Then use my right hand for tools like knife and gun
Same here. Most right hand people wear watches on their left hand I wear it on my right hand
The mom and sister's haircuts are tragic.

Addicts are the most manipulative people i have ever met. Like you said, not because they're inherent bad people but a way to get what they need
Too much doubt here for me
“Arguing like a married couple.” That’s a sad statement in itself.

It's not beyond a reasonable doubt
@@TamiTribbiani-im1go The fact that TWO medical examiners could NOT determine if it was homicide or suicide... IS ENOUGH REASONABLE DOUBT.
Agreed. The conviction is based on conjecture. Too many holes.
Same question?!? I never heard it discussed.
I really don’t see enough to prove that this guy is guilty.
What a messy case. Holy cow.
@@lookingcloser what were the texts as she was waiting? They could get that even though boyfriend claims he lost his phone! Shoddy police work. Not guilty!

You are assuming Matt killed her.
Get past your bias and look at what is known. Because if you don't, you will twist the story to line up with your theory. Scientists do it all the time.
@@dtharge4082 were there any or was she just looking to see if there was a reply or possibly answering an email? Maybe she wrote one but if Shane didn’t have his phone, she couldn’t have been fighting with him over texts. I’m sure if they were relevant they would have been introduced as evidence.
That's what I was thinking too
Credible theory!
Did they not bother to test his clothes or arms for GSR? That graphic of her arm/hand position was TERRIBLE. No one heard anything? Did she want him to move in because she needed help with her rent? So many holes in this report. My feeling is both men are not being honest but for very different reasons.
