Please, show some decency and a shred of kindness and say something. Great production, very thorough and compassionate reporting.
Yep!!! Something in me tells me that you don't go on record calling a witness "Candy girl" with a chuckle, either. Surely, he looked over the files before putting his mug on tv and trying to convince the world of how hard he has worked on the case 🤦🏻♀️ @MichelleWilliamson-dp5nj

People, PLEASE, alert the Police if you see ANYONE having a dispute ... EVEN (particularly) if you are on your way to the airport en route for a week's holiday ... PLEASE!!! 😪
@ that is no excuse! I was nearly abducted in 1973 when I was 7. Crime has been happening since the beginning of time. There was a violent struggle involving another human being. No doubt she didn’t have a cell phone, but she should have called. We still seeing citizens neglecting to advocate for others. Very sad
New subscriber and I love this channel already… 😊 I think you did a fantastic job covering this very tragic event…. ❤ Growing up in a rural community in Saskatchewan Canada I would know of some very disturbing incidents that warranted police investigation and sadly I would come to know that people keep secrets…. secrets that would inevitably destroy lives…. mine included….I remember being told to shut up and get over it. This was very well put together ❤I am so sorry for the family 😢the Roland and Jeff pictures matched those sketches more than the others,to me anyways- where is all the interviews? The person doing this video asked more questions it seems than the police and FBI- how can these people miss a big ol blue or green truck? Someone had to know about the truck and who owned a truck like that especially local men- men pay attention to trucks - it’s so frustrating that there wasn’t more done 😢and the lady wearing her shirt 😢so sad . God Bless her family 😢❤Thank you so much for making this! I’m definitely subscribing❤
Im a new subscriber. I'm very impressed with your style. Thank you for presenting this case. I'm so sad for Barbara and her family. I hope that bringing attention to her case will get it solved. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to watching many more of your videos 👏
The thing that sticks to my mind is they say this doesn’t happen here & yet there were several people &families with extensive criminal records and unsolved deaths. I feel for her family & hope it is solved
Psychopaths don't need a reason to kill. Most people in rural areas are simple, trusting, and kindly people they are the salt of the earth. They can't grasp why someone would do something like this.
Just a bit into this. The family is saying it must have been somebody she knew that kidnapped her. They believe that because 'Why would they take her otherwise?' To me the answer is obvious why somebody would have taken her, whether they knew her or not. A terrible story. Poor Barbara and her family. Evil does lurk among us. Watching further- I think it's likely that the scumbags that did this were named in the video.
That’s what I was thinking too. I mean they kept her for at least 20 hours as well. I think it’s just a means of self preservation. If you realize what most likely happened, it would make this awful situation that much worse.
There can be some people in this world who have not ever had any knowledge of what may happen, and maybe they just could not face it at the time when it was all so horrible without that. You may know it all and be very worldly, but it wasn't your relative to whom this happened, shock kicks in for example. Why are you so quick to judge and disrespect people?
I was actually watching this and heard that they had found some DNA on duct tape but not good enough to say other than male, and that they were pursuing DNA on other things, including genealogy, but that is VERY expensive, and these days more genealogy sites are not sharing any of their customers' DNA by request. It is a right to privacy issue, only for people to find relatives if they choose to share for that, not for Police.
I think if the county did a crowd funding of the monies needed for Parabon to test what was previously deemed untestable…the family would have answers.
The fact that her abductor knew about the floor safe, tells me it had to be a previous employee. Maybe the current employee that called out sick that day!
It's unbelievable how many people saw these two guys and the truck, so many witnesses, and it still wasn't solved!! Hopefully the monsters that did this spent most of their lives in prison for other crimes and at least didn't get to live theirs free. RIP Barbara. I hope her family gets answers soon.
When you have a group of people, family, and friends who live in an environment that's not exposed to everyday criminality or experienced a mindset that thinks outside the norm. I can only explain it in a way that the instinct of "knowing " isn't in any book of learning. Example: my mother died when I was 15. At that moment, I became an entirely different person. I no longer was naive. This was in 1973. There was a time when, as a family, we'd do typical Christmas and Thanksgiving get-together. After she died, neighbors attempted to bring casseroles or desserts, and my father took none. I found out 10 years after her death, he allowed no one else to see her in icu. As time went on, her death at 40 years old was listed as cardiac arrest. No prior history. When my father died in 2007, I got 3 phone calls. Her brother, an ex sisterin llaw, and my father's first cousin. Each said they'd suspected his murdering my mother. I couldn't do anything with what their suspicion was. It's left a mark of loving a man whom I had much respect for to hating him.❤
I lived in a small town in Michigan we had a young boy who was abducted & sexually assaulted & killed in the seventies they never found the person who did this. Someone knows there's been a lot of rumors but no one was arrested.

EXCELLENT channel. New here and subscribed. You have the knack with all the aerials, etc. that make it comforting to watch. Albeit, this is the first case I'm watching and it is very SAD! I hope Barbara's family can get real answers real soon. RIP Barbara.
They took her because she could identify them. These are local boys who are 4 years older than her. Ask her friends about the " bad " boys back in those days. Regular party goers and hell raises in the area.
Try putting yourself in the shoes of people who have to deal with murdered bodies in advanced decomposition. All you are thinking about is how YOU feel about one little word, so try thinking about other people for a change.
I actually thought it was more respectful than not. Because when someone is gone, he/she is GONE. A body is not a person without the person in it. I know this from personal experience.
@anissagutierrez2425 A body *is* an it, Anissa. The person that resided in it has returned to the Creator awaiting His judgment. We are made in His likeness and He's a spirit therefore so are we. That's why it's so incredibly vapid that millions of people tattoo themselves from head to toe, have their teeth bleached so brightly you can see your reflection in them, buy breasts and butts and hips and thighs, spend a disproportionate amount of their income on cars, houses, makeup, skincare, jewelry, handbags, clothes and shoes, well, you undoubtedly understand what I'm saying. It's the inside that matters but folks spend too much time and too much money cultivating the outside. Where we're going after our time here on earth is over, be it heaven or hell, you cannot take any of those things with you.
So a woman sees another woman fighting with 2 men and she didnt call the Police!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and take the no of the truck ....ffs ...could have saved poor...Barbara
Why couldn’t they look for DNA off the male t-shirt that was found, surely there must be traces of something. What about the victims fingernails, were samples saved that could be tested? This is tragic for the family, to live with this all these years must be torture. Rest in peace Barbra and I hope the family find peace too. Someone knows something.
Its heartbreaking when family try to understand the reasons, torturing themselves. People that do these sorts of things are reprobate and only they know. 😢
To you, because you think that way, but these poor people were in shock because Barbara had been so brutally murdered and just did not even want to go there.
Where the earings taken as Trophies? One of the suspects had 11 male siblings! 1sister who was taken from the home, very obvious to see why...he killed his own brother. Because they left Barbra's Wedding ring. Such a evil couple too take away a child/mother/wife/sister/friend/colleague. My heart goes out to Barbara's parents, sister, Husband and child
So, their police want someone to come to them and tell them who did it. It sounds like the police either do not want to solve it for some reason, or they're just too lazy.
Wow. This case is heartbreaking in many ways beyond the abduction and murder of Mrs. Nelson. Her family was treated horribly, and dare I say some seriously shoddy police work? The interview with the detective made me incredibly angry. Why did he bother if he was just going to say I don't know half of the time and the rest of the time he gave very vague answers. The case is 40 years old, I would expect any detective working on the case to know it forwards, backwards, and sideways. From memory. And for genetic genealogy to work in identifying a suspect, they first need to have a DNA profile. And I would be shocked if they did. The agency will also need to take the initiative to contact a lab like paraben who has the capability of analyzing a likely very degraded DNA sample and getting the results in a format that can be used with publicly available databases such as Gedmatch. The main problem with law enforcement DNA analysis profiles is that the code is very different than what private DNA companies use. Law enforcement DNA samples work with Gedmatch though, and users have to opt in to be shown as a possible match. Not sure how many people opt out. I opted to be visible, my son did as well. The lab is also extremely expensive, last I heard agencies can expect to pay around 10k. My heart goes out to the family, especially her daughter. My mother was brutally murdered in 1987 when I was only 10 years old. My father also rarely talked about her. It was a painful memory for him I'm sure. My parents had divorced years before and I lived with my paternal grandmother, and later, with my father and stepmother. My mom's family was not involved in my life so I only had one photograph of her which was lost years ago. I can remember visiting with my mom, where we were, and I cam remember talking to her on the phone, but I don't remember her voice or her face. Even now after finding her family and getting photos of her she's a complete stranger. It's sad that time can erase the face and voice of a person whom you loved with your whole heart. No child should have to grow up knowing that their mother died at the hands of another.
@LeanneCrocker great question! It is rumored that some of them had similar trucks or had access to similar trucks through their jobs but none of those sources were confirmed.
I came across this story, wasnt really going to watch it but started really getting it to it,thank you for sharing Barbara story,i feel so bad for mom and dad, but why didnt Terry say anything, wonder? But even tho they didnt catch these guys, theyve had to live with this, and have to answer to god, rest east Barbara ❤
That's terrible. 😢 Her family deserves answers and I pray they find out what happened. 🙏😞♥️ It seems like le didn't do a very good job investigating this case in the beginning if a woman walking down the road later on found Barbara's shirt The LE should have found it. Did they even do castings on the tire tracks next to the cornfield where they found Barbara? Did they do castings on foot prints in the cornfield? Don't say they didn't do that kind of thing back then because I know for a fact that LE did do castings back then on tire tracks and foot prints. There sure is a lot of suspense around that Baker property too. I agree, le dropped the ball on this case and Barbara's case. Someone knows something and they are keeping their mouths shut. 🤨 They didn't try hard enough or they were protecting someone or several people. So sad. 😢
Seriously. You watch enough of these kinds of shows and you start to think only nice, warm friendly people who would give anyone the shirt off their backs, who light up the room when they walk in get murdered. Maybe lighting up the room draws too much attention from the wrong kinds of people?
There are more than a few cases I've seen here on Yt that the victim(s) weren't scheduled to work that day and they were called in or voluntarily covered someone's shift and sadly were UNalived.😢 I just want to extend my condolences to the family and friends. 😢🕊️💐
Who thinks it extremely odd the owners of the store never had any contact w Barbara’s family , showed up @ the store, or helped in the search? I think they were into something over their heads & Barbara found out so they had to take care of her, just making it look like a burglary.
They need to RRE OPEN THIS CASE. DNR AND ALL INVOLVED WHO ARE ABLE HAVE ANOTHER LOOK INTO ESPECIALLY WITH OUR TECHNOLOGY TODAY. GIVE THIS FAMILY SOME GOD GIVEN PEACE FOR A OBVIOUS LIFE THAT WASN’T… DONE ANY JUSTICE FOR A WHOLE DROP IT
I watched a documentary about a different murder case that involved this case. The guy accused of a different murder had stopped at this station and had seen her been brought out of the shop by two men
Did they look into the person who was supposed to be working that day? Plus an employee usually does not have the safe combination, so how did the get hold of the safes combo?
I think this case is a reminder of public safety issues. The fact that Barbara was kidnapped from a gas station shows that no place is safe, and this can create fear in the community.
Barbara had to be absolutely terrified.😢 It had to be someone connected to that gas station (former /current employee or acquaintance of such). How would they’ve known about a floor safe?
They took her bc they had horrible S. A. intentions. That’s the only reason why they didn’t just unalive her immediately after robbing the gas station. The fact the investigators didn’t reach out to the family to let them know a body had been found is just ridiculous! I would think This is part of their protocol, especially the FBI. It’s crazy how much both agencies failed This family! It’s so sad
That clothing has been stored for 40 years, and just finding DNA on the smock wouldn't prove anything because it wasn't hers. The T shirt has blood on it which is most likely Barbara's but it might be very hard to get much from it. Maybe, maybe not.
Why haven’t they pulled DMV records from back then to cross reference trucks? What kind of trucks were between the 14 brothers or the barkers? Why haven’t they gone through traffick citation records from back then between both Countys??? There are so many avenues that they haven’t mentioned. Seems so many pigeon holes views here. Just my opinion. The authority’s seem to be playing hot potato with why the holes exist
The store owner may have not wanted any contact with the family because their worker’s compensation would have likely been facing a large settlement, and when that occurs the employer may see a sharp rise in their subsequent insurance premiums.

Could be a coping mechanism because this was shocking to see. I don’t think it was a personal thing against seeing her body.
Try putting yourself in the shoes of people who have to deal with murdered bodies in advanced decomposition. All you are thinking about is how YOU feel about one little word, so try thinking about other people for a change.
Yeah, I love when people judge others like this. “Offended by everything responsible for nothing “
I actually thought it was more respectful than not. Because when someone is gone, he/she is GONE. A body is not a person without the person in it. I know this from personal experience.
@anissagutierrez2425
A body *is* an it, Anissa.
So many different people saw two men fighting with someone and no one reported it or checked to see what was going on. Shocking.
I am surprised no one recognized the truck, especially in regards to the suspects.
The truck is the key.
Yes it’s strange because they had to be local.
Think I would investigate the store/gas station owners. Maybe someone sent them a very strong message?
Tragic tor the family and the community. Seems like local boys and someone knows who.
Really well done .
Obviously it wasnt LOCAL boys, as no one, local, recognized the sketches; nor did anyone outside the locals
This is so heartbreaking 💔 😢 This poor woman 😢 It's so upsetting when they never get the psychopaths.
What is wrong with people (this woman) that would not report this🤬. This is as disturbing as the crime
It's VERY true about not being able to wash out the scent of a perfume from clothes.
Beautiful production, thank you
So a woman sees another woman fighting with 2 men and she didnt call the Police!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and take the no of the truck ....ffs ...could have saved poor...Barbara
Um ...you only used 15 exclamation points. Don't you want to be taken seriously?
Why couldn’t they look for DNA off the male t-shirt that was found, surely there must be traces of something. What about the victims fingernails, were samples saved that could be tested? This is tragic for the family, to live with this all these years must be torture. Rest in peace Barbra and I hope the family find peace too. Someone knows something.
Its heartbreaking when family try to understand the reasons, torturing themselves. People that do these sorts of things are reprobate and only they know. 😢
What is so difficult to understand as to “Why” they took & kept her for 24hrs? It’s obvious it was about S€x assault not so much about robbery.
Right!!!??
To you, because you think that way, but these poor people were in shock because Barbara had been so brutally murdered and just did not even want to go there.
@@jillgarlick2122 True.
Exactly…. Nobody wants to say it! (they wanted a woman)🤷♀️
@@jillgarlick2122Well, they (family) should be realistic about it! (stop acting so naive)
Great episode.. new sub
Heartbreaking
Yeah but ONLY for the poor animals she tracked down, terrorized, killed, skinned and probably ate so fu.. her
If the family will reach out to Cold Case Detective Ken Mains, he will look at it and give you his opinion, he is pretty sharp.
No Woman should work alone in the Petrol Station!!
It was a different time back then, especially in the rural areas. It was thev norm.
@@jillgarlick2122 Problem is she probably knew them and trusted them
Hic town policing 😢 combined with a complacent rural community. Ducks in a row..
Did any of their persons of interest have a truck that matched the description?
@LeanneCrocker great question! It is rumored that some of them had similar trucks or had access to similar trucks through their jobs but none of those sources were confirmed.
I don't know who did what BUT that Ronnie strikes such fear in me for some reason! Anyone else creeped out by him?
I came across this story, wasnt really going to watch it but started really getting it to it,thank you for sharing Barbara story,i feel so bad for mom and dad, but why didnt Terry say anything, wonder? But even tho they didnt catch these guys, theyve had to live with this, and have to answer to god, rest east Barbara ❤
I think they took her mainly for the SA. I think the money was just extra. I'm sure this wasn't their only crime.
DNA should be able to be found. This is so incredibly sad. ❤
Loved to murder animals? What a horrid soul.
So sad. 😢
Sexual
Predators… that’s why they’d take her.
Sad, but i don't like how they always make people out to be a saint after they die. Nobody is a saint.
Why no talk of DNA !!!
DNA testing wouldn't have been available at that time.
DNA was mentioned at the very end of this documentary.
There was plenty of talk about DNA at the end!
That’s so not cool that they had to find out from TV news rather than being told before releasing it to the news…so poor!!!!
There's no excuse for that. Shameful.
The guy accused of a different murder had stopped at this station and had seen her been brought out of the shop by two men
Why didnt that lady who witnessed them kn the side of the road do somethimg
Right??
Please contact Othram in Houston to help with the DNA. Crowdsource the funding. If anybody can develop that DNA, they can.
Did they look into the person who was supposed to be working that day? Plus an employee usually does not have the safe combination, so how did the get hold of the safes combo?
Hidden floor safe robbed. Local knowledge.
I think this case is a reminder of public safety issues. The fact that Barbara was kidnapped from a gas station shows that no place is safe, and this can create fear in the community.
Barbara had to be absolutely terrified.😢
It had to be someone connected to that gas station (former /current employee or acquaintance of such). How would they’ve known about a floor safe?
I hope this case gets solved before everyone perishes. I wish I could look through DMV files to see about this truck. 🙏🏼💗
It’s so sad
Seems like to me if you investigators have evidence, like her clothes, they could try to get dna from potential suspects.
That clothing has been stored for 40 years, and just finding DNA on the smock wouldn't prove anything because it wasn't hers. The T shirt has blood on it which is most likely Barbara's but it might be very hard to get much from it. Maybe, maybe not.
Sad, cold injustice for Barbara & her family. The sketches look like the suspects.
Great video and a pity it's ruined by non stop ads. GREEDY
Not true, the family that owned that store and another across down was devastated this happened, closed the store immediately and never reopened it
It’s very rare that a robbery involves murder and/ or abduction. Most perpetrators want a quick cash grab and get out of there
@@molliwilson5639unless they were drugged up and in blackout?
@@mailliw75so sad😢
@mailliw75
You're the man who is from Jackson, right? Thank you for that information.
There should be DNA on the smock...have they tested it??
I thought they found duct tape at that 2nd location. Could that not be tested?
Good video. Thanks.
