Great instructional video, Jon. It was great meeting you and Sam at SnF in April...and thanks for the t-shirt! ~Jeff Kramer
Thank you! Always great seeing you, hopefully we'll see you up at Oshkosh!
Great video, really appreciate the help. I’ll definitely be in contact when I get to painting time. Also, I loved your presentation at SnF this year!
Thank you so much for watching AND for sitting through my presentation at SNF!
Very interesting! Can’t wait to see more!
Thank you Patricia! :)
Great stuff!
Thank you! We're just getting started!
Wow, Jonathan ...love love this video. I just emailed you as well. Call me silly but I did not know you could also provide me with the vinyl to go with my design from Sam. Sweeeeeet.
Got it! So glad you found the video! :)
I am painting one solid color. Red. Any accidents will be vinyl. Although I am considering ghost flames on the cowl...
Really liked the video. I have my design, where do I get the Vinyl Graphics from?
Jonathan, what guidance does the FAA give regarding putting vinyl striping on wings and tails of an experimental aircraft? Would you happen to know?
Great video, thanks! I'm still not sure as to the purpose of the markup pen though - seems to me that once you have an element fixated on all corners into position with tape and created a useful strong starting zone - also with tape - somewhere in the middle you can simply apply the technique you demonstrate and not use a markup pen for anything..?
In this video I'm applying a small graphic which does not require as many alignment aids but it's a much different scenario when applying larger graphics for the fuselage or wings. You'll be applying the graphic a few feet at a time and will use those markers as an aid since you can't pull the entire length at once.
Hello, I’m reaching out to see if you could provide the manufacture / FAA approval document for applying large vinyl decals to the exterior of aircraft.
How was the scheme made? How do you get the blank plane model?
You can work with our amazing design team! Check us out at www.evokeaircraftdesign.com
Hello, thank you for your good video, I want to work for an airplane in my country, please guide me, what media should I buy and tell me the type of print, hoping to cooperate in the future.
Can the wrap be applied over fabric as with a PA-18?
Hi Doug, so the graphics in this particular video are for painting so they wouldn't be a permanent installation. The paint masks can be used on fabric. You can also apply vinyl graphics over painted fabric aircraft. I would only recommend that in smaller areas.
How well do these hold up over time?
These are paint masks so they are only applied for painting purposes and immediately removed. They're solvent resistant so the paint doesn't affect them but have no UV protection like the material you'd use for a wrap.
Keep in mind any paint or graphics on flight controls means removal and balancing.
what is the paper size?
Reverse mask ?
I'd love to watch the entire video some really interesting stuff here but the music drove me away...
Don't give away all your secrets lol
No secret is safe anymore, I'm an open book! I'm tired of seeing ugly airplanes. lol. :)
