MD Fish Tanks i’m actually moving into the uk next week, due to licence problems i can’t bring my 4 turtles from my country right now. so i have to figure it out once i get to UK, meanwhile i have to have my family take care of them for me
Beautiful plants indeed
A few points and concerns:
There is plenty of room for basking on the edges of the island, and lots of areas for Timmy to perch on with his body out the water (musk turtles are crazy good climbers) and could trample the whole thing if he chooses haha
The UVB bulb was added at a distance because it is a very powerful bulb which also produces heat. Moving it closer would actually be bad for Timmy.
The room is heated so the water sits at the correct temperature.
its too small a tank, they can get quite big and need a minimum of 10 gallons per inch of shell. A 1 inch big turtle should have ten gallons, a 10 inch needs at least 100 gallons. As he grows he'll need an upgrade or his growth will be stunted and he could die prematurely. Otherwise it's a lovely tank and beautiful design (so long as there definitely are areas to come out and bask in warmth)
@@caitlinmaynell2780 as he is a hatching, the tank is perfectly fine and the tank is over filtered. He will however outgrow this tank fast and I am already planning his next tank so all good :)

I think it looks amazing! like having a tiny, natural pond in your home. you did a wonderful job and made it look as naturalistic as possible so that Timmy and his friend have so much to explore and enjoy!

Yeah, but then he said “we call it HomeBase”- that hurt 😂 HomeBase is a franchise that sells home decor and the odd bit of raw materials. B&Q is probably more of the typical “Hardware Store” kinda brand. I’m mentioning this because 1: it’s 1am 2: in the UK we don’t really generalise like that, we just say the name of the brand / location. This has been my TED Talk...

I'm not sure how much basking time is necessary for that turtle but you may want to consider a heat bulb as well since most if not all basking turtles need to dry off completely to avoid shell rot. Also, Timmy might avoid basking because there is no difference in temperature and therefore won't get the necessary UVB. Aside from that great pond, it looks beautiful.
It's a very powerful bulb and produces lots of heat. I can't even put my hand near it. Needed to keep it at a distance for the right temp / UVB
