Thank-you for the video, just fixed mine. A few notes based upon my experience. 1) It is a lot easier to simply go ahead and remove the drum and hardly any extra effort. 2) While the drum is removed, go ahead and remove the four load bearing wheels and clean them and their shafts, inspect for cracking, etc. None of these contain actual bearings to fail. I put some high-temp grease on each wheel when reinstalling. BE GENTLE with the small triangular shaped capture washers as they will break. 3)Go ahead and replace the belt while you are in there. The odds are if the tensioner has failed, the belt is old enough that it has stretched 3-4 inches anyway and has become inefficient. 4) clean out all of the escaped lint and rake in the loose change that has settled under the drum like a 70s auto backseat! Super easy fix, especially with the help of the video!
Thank you I have this dryer and it was screaming and so loud I thought it would explode. I watched your video and got the part and I did it myself in like 20 minutes! Sounds good as new now! Saved me a lot of money doing it myself and not having a repair person come!
You helped me fix it. I replaced the bearing, belt, and side rollers, 2 months ago and then the belt started slipping on the motor. The bearing even though new, was freezing on the shaft. I greased it well, and so far no noise and no slipping. And with that, it is time to take a nap!
Great. You were clear and concise in your instructions. I appreciate the fact that you did not see a need to have music and other distractions taking away from what you were doing.
Another successful student of your tutorial! Might add that the bottom of my frame just below the door was quite sharp and putting a cloth over the edge will prevent a scrape or cut on your arm while trying to do the work.. BE SURE you follow the video exactly when putting in new part.. IF you put the belt on first and then try to install the spring .. its extremely difficult.. THANKS for saving me $200 on a service call
Good job in about 7:41 minutes huh :) My dryer is a little newer but I think this tells the story of what it takes to stop the noise whenever we turn it on. Thanks a ton.
741/NASA!! Same dryer, broken belt. Thank you for an excellent video. I struggled to find how in the world to access the pulley area. I removed the back sheet metal, which need a good vacuuming. Getting the door off was the key. I'm now awaiting a $10 belt from Walmart (Amazon wanted $30). Thanks again and cool shirt.
Awesome video. Exactly what I needed. One problem after fixing it though... the replacement part's wheel is constantly clicking. It's so annoying. Gonna order another one and see if it's any better.
Thanks for this helpful video. Much like others that commented on here, I had the exact issue and was able to fix it fairly quickly based on the information you provided.
Thank you for this video! I am still not mechanically inclined and have never repaired anything like this in my life! My husband felt that we could do it ourselves and I basically removed and installed the part on my own! Just needed him to put the bolt back in because I could not figure out that stupid ratchet!! Thank you again!
Thank you!!! Video was perfect 👍🏼. I have the exact same dryer that's in the video, and I never would have been able to get it repaired had I not found this video. So thanks again
I'm Crossing my fingers! Great video! I have the same issue so I'm sure it's the idler pulley. Ordered the part and will see what happens! Thank you So much!
very helpful video...thank you! Saved me loads of time! if the tensioner pulley is siezed up, it is not difficult to remove it from the idler arm and give it a cleaning. This was the case with my dryer. the bushing interior was gummed up and frozen to the race.Sprayed a little wd40, removed the triangle clip (carefully though, it is plastic and could snap)and the pulley came right off. cleaned it and removed the wd from the pulley itself so the belt wont slide; greased the race and put it back together. my pulley was still in usable condition.
I'm trying to take the top cover off the dryer door after dropping the door catch that holds the door closed. There are four screws along the inside top edge I took out but the cover doesn't want to pop off. I don't want to pry on it and maybe break something. Have you had your off and if so, how did you do it? If I take it off, I'm sure I can reach into the bottom of the door to get the door catch.
Very good video but I have one question if I may.. I saw another Whirlpool cabrio video that says you take the back off the dryer.. Now the face of my dryer looks like the face on here can we verify which side comes off. I have a Whirlpool cabrio WED6600VMO
I am watching this video to help me with another issue that I'm dealing with. I used a putty knife to pop the clips so I could take the top off. When I lifted the top, the clips came out and fell to the bottom. So now I have to take the front door assy off. How did you unplug the safety switch? Mine is not made to simply pull apart. It looks like a tool is needed to press in 2 little tabs to then be able to pull apart.
Use a small screwdriver to push the licking tabs if you can't squeeze them with your finger....at least that what it sounds like you need to do. I can't say for certain without seeing it myself
@@SevenFortyOne hi. thx for the reply. I got it with a screwdriver shorty after posting. The real problem that Im working on was that I took out the lint/duct assembly out to clean it. Now I cant get it back in. GGGRRRRRR!!!!
Hello i saw your video and it help a lot but im having trouble finding the model number for my Cabrio dryer the belt broke and i need a replacement one my dryer looks just like yours but I don’t know what the model number is located to order a nee one would you please help or direct me where to look for it i have been searching and looking you tube videos and I couldn’t find one that talks a about how to find or where the serial number or model number of a whirlpool Cabrio dryer is located thanks i will be reading your comments
SevenFortyOne thank you you have help me alot no idea where it was casuse i took the door of the dryer and i got it out of the way with the door closed thank you so much
Can you think of any reason my dry clothes(from the dryer)don't smell clean. If I line dry them there is a big difference. The machine is almost 20 years old and worked fine. Could the smell be coming from the dryer filter?
I saw a video that says bc it is not sealed some lint can back up around the drum? if this is true can it be possible to lift the top and vacum it from time to time?
Yes - you can clean it out from time to time....its also a good idea to check the hose that leads from the lint trap to the outside to make sure it is clear every so often.
My dryer squeeks are fixed by spraying grease/WD40 on all the roller axles. This must be done approx 3 times per year. Luckily, removing the front cover for access is only a 5 min job (10 min round trip) -- so I'm ok with this, for now.

Just replaced mine. thanks for the video. It helped so much!!
Do you have a similar video for the belt safety switch? I imagine a it’s similar process rather than opening the back?
Sorry, I don't

Its on the the door frame near the hinge.
SevenFortyOne thank you you have help me alot no idea where it was casuse i took the door of the dryer and i got it out of the way with the door closed thank you so much
Bolt will not turn for me. I guess I need an extender for the socket wrench
Did that and it worked, but the spring is impossible. I need some one stronger to do that part, Needle nose pliers did not work for me.
Can you think of any reason my dry clothes(from the dryer)don't smell clean. If I line dry them there is a big difference. The machine is almost 20 years old and worked fine. Could the smell be coming from the dryer filter?
Might be the filter or lint stuck some someplace else inside. You might have to take it all apart and clean the insides out.
I saw a video that says bc it is not sealed some lint can back up around the drum? if this is true can it be possible to lift the top and vacum it from time to time?

Hey thank you times a million!
Is it possible to remove this part from the back of the dryer?
It might be but I'm thinking it would be much more difficult to get the bolt removed from behind
why not just change the pulley.. it's easier than changing the assembly..?
Thank you!
Glad this helped!
Y'all can have it y'all made a whole video
Thanks so much very helpful!!!
Nice and quiet now unless you take the kitty for a spin!
Great video. I have to replace my rollers so the drum has to come out.
excellent! thank you
Thanks!
To much work I just replace the roller bearing in and out 😊
Same. One clip, out with the old, in with the new. 15 minutes start to finish.
Baby take the washer and dryer be blessed
I'd never get my big butt in there. :)
I would of greased that new bearing before reinstalling it....just sayin....
Why do people stick their face in video scenes?
No
