Your video was exactly what happened with my dryer. Got the soldering iron out, fixed the smoked trace and it's working again. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!
Nice video. Good advice worked like a champ. I'd tested many components before concluding it was the board. Couldn't afford a new board. Was contemplating shipping it to one those repair for $39 places. Then couple days later apparently Googles system ran your video on a ad and it came up on my fb. Wild! Hey saved me $$$$. Thanks Buddy.
this video is awesome but didnt fix my issue. took the door off and realized that the drumming belt was broken. presented all the same issue as you said but the issue with mine was the drum belt. Replaced it and worked like a charm
I don't know how old my dryer was. It is exactly the same as yours but the motherboard looked new. No dust at all. I noticed one of the solder was loose so I filled it in. It works great now. Taking it apart took about 10 minutes max. Pretty easy job. I had the F1 error. Where it powers on and all the controls work but after pressing the start button, nothing happens.
My board is perfect. My pulley looks fine. I see no burns anywhere. Theres a tiny white switch? under the pulley bar. Will that control power if its not working correctly? When I press start it only clicks. My belts are good. My fuses are good. Thermal and door switch good.
Hello! Great video. Followed the video, added the wire and did exactly what you did. Once I plugged in the dryer, it started running continuously. It only stopped once I opened the dryer door. Power turns on, still made clicking noise once I selected a cycle and started it. Wonder what that means?
Check how you routed the wire. That is the relay control. It sounds like you shorted out the relay so it's always on and running. That will burn things up in a hurry. Good luck!
I would take an extra close look at the tracks running from the relay to the plug. Those are the tracks that I'm repairing at 2:29. They burn out in the oddest of places. It could be a bad relay as well. Mine ended up failing a year after this repair and I had to replace the relay itself. Here is the video for that -> ua-cam.com/video/W2KnC-fR58A/v-deo.html
@@masterofnone8065 thanks, upon examining the board under a magnifying glass, i can see all contacts and traces are 100% clean. and because I hear a "click" when starting it, the relay may be ok or is it... even if it clicks?
@@ChronicKPOP The next thing to check would be the belt. Pop the dryer apart and see if the belt has broken or come off. I had this problem on this same dryer (before I started my channel) where the idler pulley seized up, then burnt through the belt.
@@masterofnone8065 Thanks, checked the thermal fuse with ohm meter, it was fried, replaced with part on amazon (3 fuses for $15) or 22 for $22 lol - if I want to go into business :) New fuse, dryer is back on duty.
It's pretty rugged circuitry, but it's always best to 'ground' yourself before touching any electronics. The screw holding a light switch cover plate on it always a good ground in all modern houses.
love the video. my board has no burnt spots, all looks good, door switch turns light on, the fuse checks out with the meter as good. motor turns with resistance seems fine. still no start. don't know how to check the start button in the circuit board.
my cabrio will start but stay at sensing with no motor. I've replaced the fuse and thermister. Have not gone the route of this video but it sounded like when you pushed start nothing happened, which is not the case with mine. I'll check the board but maybe the moisture sensor is bad? Error code is F 28
@@masterofnone8065 No actuator on this unit. Thinking it might be the ignitor. When does the ignitor flame fire up? I hit start and the machine hums then stays at the sensing setting. Checked the board and all looked OK. Any help appreciated!
Dumb question... but have you checked the belt? I've replaced the belt on this same dryer like 3 times now. Common failure. As is the tensioner and pulley it runs off of.
My dryer was burned a few years back and it just started doing same thing F1 code it will light up but wont start. Sensing light on.. not burned these time.
I have the same dryer. It spins and heats fine but was making a rumbling/humming noise during the drying cycle. With the dryer off it makes the same noise when you manually spin the drum. During the cycle today it made a loud thump and now won’t start. The dryer will turn on and I can hear the click when I press start but I won’t start the cycle. Any idea of what it could be ?
Your idler pulley likely seized up and blew the belt out. I didn't have a channel when I replaced that last on mine. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RZJ282S/ This is the one I used. You'll need to take the dryer apart and see if the belt is still intact and usable. (it may have just slipped off when the idler fully gave out).
Overreacted. Ran onboard diagnostics from another video. Referenced manual under interface... just ordered the idler pulley... Now the waiting game for delivery - which is the worst. Would be awesome if the internet had a store in town - 😆 🤣 Thanks for helping me through this. M.C.&H.N.Y!
@@macanocious3000 Oh yeah, I've replaced that on this one too. It's a pretty easy job. If the belt is still in place, take a picture before you take it apart to make sure you get the belt-routing correct when everything goes back together.
The belt could be shot/off. I had to replace that at least once on this dryer. The idler pulley seized up and burnt the belt up. Unfortunately I did not get that on video.
My dryer is not burned from the circuit board but it still does not start the motor, I still want to connect the two points? or do I need to change the relay?
Can you confirm that it is actually spinning? I had to replace the belt and pulleys on this dryer as well. Also make sure all your vent are clear and there is good airflow.
@@atclb2356 Cool. Mine sounded like it was running, but wasn't actually spinning. At this point its one of two things. The heating element isn't working or the vent is completely plugged. If you move it away from the wall you can check the vent out of the house and make sure its clean, and check the venting up into the dryer and make sure that is clean too. You can also run the dry with the vent hose disconnected for a moment to a) make sure it was exhausting properly and b) see if the exhaust air is in fact warm/hot.

Is there special precautions that need to be taken due to concern for static discharge damaging the circuitry?
