Yeah, this is a very emotional song.. Sebastian Bach wrote the lyrics to this song about his friend Steven Adler, who was the original drummer for Guns N' Roses. Adler had a severe heroin addiction. Which eventually led to him being fired from GnR.
Sebastian said in an interview that he had four years of bel canto (operatic) vocal training before he joined Skid Row. He knows how to sing properly, and is very diligent in caring for his voice. His family wanted to pay to send him to Julliard for continued musical training, but he opted not to go because he wanted to be a rock singer. He screams and sings with lots of distortion in his voice in this song, but notice the very last note he sings here. It’s clean and powerful and he shows you his capability of sounding like an opera singer. He used that skill a lot in the roles he played on Broadway. Check him out singing “This is the Moment” on UA-cam. Also, Scotti Hill’s guitar playing is phenomenal here.
This song is written about the original drummer from guns and roses who couldn't beat his addiction. Guns and roses and skid row toured together for 2 years and so the lead singer became good friends with the drummer from guns n' roses. That's what this song's about
I was OBSESSED with this song summer of 1991. I listened to it repeatedly and always at a high volume which probably annoyed my parents. Even funnier: I had this on cassette (because I didn't have a CD player yet) so I had to keep rewinding it in order to keep listening to it.
Based on your reaction to this song, you absolutely need to check out "I Remember You". IMHO it's their greatest song and one of the greatest Rock songs of All-Time!
Quicksand Jesus and In a Darkened Room next both amazing songs!! Also for something a little on the harder side from them check out Slave to the Grind or Monkey Business!
Definitely put his emotions into this one, his best friend Steven (Guns N Roses drummer) fought a bad heroin addiction for years Sebastian Bach has one of the most powerful throat wrenching voices ever
Thank you for this reaction this is one of my all time favorite songs all around. I lost the love of my life to drug addiction and this song hits real hard. Sebastian's passion exploded in this song as it was written as someone else mentioned for his good friend Steven Adler!! This song definitely invokes emotion with every word he sings.
Love Skid Row!! Sebastian Bach's voice is crazy. Seen them several times in concert and they are so good live as well. Their songs Youth Gone Wild and Slave To The Grind are both really good also. Great reaction!! 🙂
Sebastian is one of the craziest frontman of all metal bands. Check out the "bottle incident" on UA-cam from 1989 during their live performance of Piece of Me in Springfield MA. He actually ends up being arrested. But he's still the coolest.
You should do monkey business, that’s my favorite song by them. I got to see them live 6 months ago. Or so. There was maybe 80 people there and my wife and I were the only people there in our 20’s. We kept getting asked by everyone what we were doing there lol. My favorite hair metal band for sure
"When the horse stampedes it rages"... a reference to heroin addiction...once that horse gets going..... song about Steve Adler. But yea for sure Quicksand Jesus and In a Darkened Room, also The Threat.
I them on their first tour at a bar. I could have untied Sebastian's shoes; he was 2 feet away and only 3 feet up on stage. The audio for that show is on UA-cam. The Marquee in Westminster CA '87. They were opening for Bon Jovi on a Friday and Sunday, so they played a bar in between shows.
Sebastian, I think my favorite singer, but so many reactions don't mention the content of the song or video. He's throwing emotion out there for a reason.
amazing reaction you should check out i remember you, in a darkend room (lyrics for this one), quicksand Jesus, youth gone wild, Sklave to the Grind and monkey business:)
There are great frontmen that are ok singers there are great singers who were ok frontmen during this era but I have to say NOBODY could touch Bash's vocal ability in the 80s and 90s! There might have been a few that stood out from the crowd because they were great singers with power and control but this guy was a Freak!!! I'm freaking 48 years old and still get blown away when this guy belts it out.
If you want to check out a couple of bands that would be new to your channel, react to "Get The Funk Out" or "Decadence Dance" by EXTREME (great vocals Gary Cherone & amazing guitarist Nuno Bettencourt). Also, check out "I'll Never Let You Go" by STEELHEART (phenomenal vocals by Miljenko Matijevic).
Yeah its a beautiful song but i cant feel it. Its so juvenile and poorly sung because of his declining voice and the era it was made in aint cutting it. Rock isnt or wasnt good 93-present.
There are some great singers in all kinds of music but, NONE ARE SEBASTIAN BACH GREAT!!! He's the greatest to ever do it!!! He's considered a VOCAL GOD!!!
Okay, just hear me out...for another song where someone "hit that too strong," I nominate "Shadow on the Sun" by Audioslave, for everyone's man Chris Cornell. His voice on that song does something to my damn spine, man. But yeah, this song is amazing. It just...keeps...escalating. My youth!
Quick sand Jesus should be the next skid row song. Just as good as wasted time. Then if you want something with a little kick do monkey business or slave to the grind from the album slave to the grind. It was the first metal album to go number1 on the billboard chart. An awesome record. Thanks love your videos
Coldplay - Everglow [Single Version] - (Official Video), The Hardest Part (Official Video), Daddy (Official Video) Hypnotised (Official Lyric Video), Amazing Day Global Film Project.
I really love Skid Row. I have tickets front row to go see skid row quiet riot and Winger May 21 here in my home state where I live in Alabama. If you think he has a high voice you should really react to steelheart the name of the song is I'll never let you go. Play the original video
Do yourself a favor and check out Alter Bridge, only newer band that can hang with this type old school talent. Good starter is "Blackbird" live from Wembly, powerful song with emotion, amazing vocals and overall band talent. Even if you dont do a reaction to it, check it out i know youd love it if you like stuff like this
Yes we know what you're saying. Yes we feel you. JK ese. Enjoy Skid Row's music. You're 2 decades late but it's never too late to leave mumble rappers behind.... 😂 JK ese. Peace!

You need to check out one of their rockers next. You’ll dig “Monkey Business”! That song don’t play!
Sebastian is one of the craziest frontman of all metal bands. Check out the "bottle incident" on UA-cam from 1989 during their live performance of Piece of Me in Springfield MA. He actually ends up being arrested. But he's still the coolest.
Sebastion was one of the great rock singers!! He put everything in to his performances!! Still touring today
One of the most powerful lyrical composed songs ever. Absolutely beautiful..

“Youth gone wild” or “monkey business”
Sabatian and Rob Halford had the best natural voices of the 80's
My favorite concert of 92"
Quicksand Jesus! End of the song the line he sings on one breath is insane!
"When the horse stampedes it rages"... a reference to heroin addiction...once that horse gets going..... song about Steve Adler. But yea for sure Quicksand Jesus and In a Darkened Room, also The Threat.

I too get sad about this song because Steven Adler being such a gentle soul
He still is and always will be
A song about addiction and he really puts the feels into it.

God was singing out of his mouth. IRL, he is deeply flawed. But when he sang this song, it was purely from some other place.
