Maddy was addicted to Laudanum which contained opium. That's why she acted so strangely. Most of the time she was either high or in withdrawals. This movie is fairly historically accurate. They even took some of the dialog during the showdown at the OK Corral straight from the newspaper reports that came out the day after it happened. Doc really did say, "You're a daisy if you do." And Doc really was as daring as he is portrayed. He knew he was a dead man anyway so he took chances most people wouldn't.

This is based on a true story. If you ever come down to Southern Arizona, Tombstone is there and they reenact the shootout at the OK Corral every day. Other modern westerns that are great are Unforgiven and 3:15 to Yuma.
Fun fact: Walt Disney's last words were "Kurt Russell" and no one knows why. It is assumed he had seen him in Gunsmoke and was considering him for a role. The company immediately signed a lengthy contract with him. It made his career.
I don’t think anything tops Tombstone or Val’s performance, but there are some great westerns out there. Unforgiven, Silverado, Quick and the Dead, and Young Guns are good ones too
Curly Bill killing the marshall is actually relatively historically accurate. Wyatt actually went and testified in his defense saying he was pretty sure it was an accident.
Yup even the Marshall himself said the gun went off when he went to take it (he didn't die right away like in the movie, pretty sure he passed like 2 days later)

Another GREAT Val Kilmer movie that reaction channels haven't done is *THUNDERHEART* - Takes place on a Reservation. 100% deserving of a review from everyone's channel.
One of my outright favourites - first time I saw it was blown away by Val as Doc…‘I’m your huckleberry’ & all of his quirky lines. Plus the supporting cast - Michael Beihn, Bill Paxton (he interviews old Rose in Titanic, 1997) - both amazing in the Aliens movie & in Terminator. Michael Rooker is Yondu in Guardians, Kurt is Ego, plus Powers Boothe is a great villain as Curly Bill. Glad you enjoy these great films!
This is such a great movie. Val Kilmer is just so good. I want to shout out Powers Booth, he doesn't usually get mentioned I guess since he plays the antagonist, but he was excellent as well, RIP.
I've been W. A. I. T. I. N. G. for this one! Top 3 all time faves! Russell, Paxton, Elliott, Kilmer, Booth, Rooker. Top notch performances all around!!!!!
I'll be honest. Westerns are maybe my least favorite movie genre. But Tombstone is one of my favorite movies of all time. The first time I watched it was an accident because usually I'd see it was a western and I'd turn it off. But I was staying in some roadside motel in the mid 90's in some tiny Arkansas town and they had HBO and pretty much nothing else. So I had it on while I was working on other things and the longer it went the more interested I got. When I got home I rented it so I could really watch it and the rest is history. Just a fantastic movie with so many great lines and loaded with testosterone. Great stuff! Thanks for the reaction.
Hi Major. I would recommend Unforgiven with Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman. Also Silverado with a young Kevin Costner. Rio Bravo with John Wayne and Dean Martin.
I've been to Tombstone and Boot Hill half a dozen times. My Brother lives in Phoenix and we usually go on my Birthday .... It's the Anniversary of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
@Major, I know this isnt a live, but this movie is MOSTLY true based on the infamous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in AZ in 1881. I lived in AZ when this came out so we did a lot of school projects on the real story. I absolutely love this movie.
Several really great westerns is "Unforgiven" with Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman.... "The Quick and the Dead",with Sharon Stone ,Leo DiCaprio, and Russell Crowe.... Also "3:10 to Yuma" with Christian Bale and Russell Crowe!!💯👍👍👍
The hospitable old rancher that took the guys in towards the end was a cameo by Charlton Heston, legend, the lead actor in what I think is the best movie of all time, the original Ben Hur. The new one is like comedy compared to the original. That’s funny you mentioned watching boxing with your grandfather. Good stuff. I remember my grandfather having boxing on back in the 60s. No replays! Godspeed
My man Major 😎 Great choice! Val Kilmer IS Doc Holiday, incredible work and Kurt Russell did his thing he helped work behind the scenes so he even sacrificed some of his own lines so he can do both Also, all the men grew their mustaches out for it but the goat of the stache, Sam Elliot, has the best one imo 😅
Also was Reese in Terminator. And they don't really give him a name in this movie but the one Cowboy that dies in the river with bill was Chris from Northern Exposure

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, epic spaghetti Western. A Fistful of Dollars.. both starring Clint Eastwood. Fantastic characters/story. The Magnificent Seven 1960. The remake is great too. The Quick and the Dead. Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Russell Crowe, Dicaprio

The best western movie by far!!! Ive watched it so many times i know just about every word!!! Check out the Ballad Of Buster Scruggs gunfights!!! I guarantee you will love it!!!
He didn't think the pistol was a pipe, it was brothers to the bone and he knew he couldn't win but also refused to stop being a cowboy and got really high real fast before taking a mercy killing to the head from Wyatt. Better to be head shot than several painful body shots in a fight. Brothers to the bone. And I guess technically you would call this western but it's one of the greatest films ever made period. Can't really compare this to other westerns and there are some good ones as well. There are movies in every genre that transcend the genres and are good to anyone watching them. This is one of them, could hate westerns and still like this movie.
plenty of great westerns, just go down Clint Eastwood credits, Unforgiven, The Good the Bad and The Ugly, Pale Rider, etc etc,DANCES WITH WOLVES IS EPIC!!!
Great Western, one of the best, ticks all the boxes and Val Kilmer knocked his performance out of the park, plenty more great Westerns to watch, I recommend Open Range with Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall
Young guns is my favorite. It’s about Billy the kid. It’s like Terminator though. The second one is a masterpiece. First one is good but it’s one of few series where the sequel is way better
Young Guns 1&2 Unforgiven The Quick &The Dead Dances With Wolves The Magnificent Seven Honorable mention- Maverick It’s more a comedy than a western but still a good movie. Take care Homie✌🏼

I get what you mean about your Granddaddy. I watched the old. b/w version of Red River with John Wayne with my Papa one day I was home sick from school. The movie was good but the reason it's my favorite movie is the memory of my Papa. He blew up hotdogs that was cooked on top of their old wooden stove. Never figured out how that happened. 1:10 My childhood was the same. Every afternoon after school my granddad wanted to watch Gunsmoke. I wanted to watch cartoons. So I wound up watching Gunsmoke. 🤣😂
Fun fact Buck Taylor who played the character Newly on Gunsmoke is in this movie. He plays “Turkey Creek” Jack Johnson!
I think someone likes westerns now? Val Kilmers finest role... Time to watch the good, the bad & the ugly
Some other really good modern westerns are Dances With Wolves, True Grit, Young Guns (1 and 2), and even Kevin Costner’s version of Wyatt Earp.
If you watch true grit, make sure it's the original with John Wayne.. Not that abortion that they did a few years ago.
"Are you gonna watch this reaction or just stand there and bleed?"
Great Western, one of the best, ticks all the boxes and Val Kilmer knocked his performance out of the park, plenty more great Westerns to watch, I recommend Open Range with Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall
First time I've watched you. Five minutes in, and and you're fun as hell to watch. You have yourself a new subscriber, sir.
U are the ONLY f’ing person to realize it was Billy Bob Thornton & ima subscribe bc u did. Lol. Facts. Well done👏🖖
Check out Unforgiven. A western that won several Oscars.
Young guns is my favorite. It’s about Billy the kid. It’s like Terminator though. The second one is a masterpiece. First one is good but it’s one of few series where the sequel is way better
I highly recommend the HBO show Deadwood. It's three seasons of gritty goodness starring Timothy Olyphant.
Young Guns 1&2
Unforgiven
The Quick &The Dead
Dances With Wolves
The Magnificent Seven
Honorable mention- Maverick
It’s more a comedy than a western but still a good movie.
Take care Homie✌🏼
This is one of my top three favorite westerns along with Open Range and a toss-up between a few others so I know you’re going to enjoy the movie 💯✨ My favorite character is Doc Holiday 💫 Take care and have a Nice Day💥
Magnificient Seven, The Good, the bad and the Ugly, Unforgiven.
The Quick and the Dead is another you might like, glad you liked this classic. Also the mustache game on point in this movie 😂
33:40 Yeah, that ACTUALLY happened by the way.
So HAPPY to see this one man... LEGENDARY one of my all time favorites! I had hoped you'd watch it after Blazing Saddles. Gonna watch this reaction later today so...expect another comment.
Man I feel ya, I wish I had spent more time with a few family members but most recently my brother, don't let those chances past you by guys. If you can spend those extra moments with the ones you love, those other things you want to do can wait a little. Spend time with the fam guy's.
Great reaction brother
Val Kilmer was robbed an oscar
YAAAAAAASSSSSSSS MY FAVORITE WESTERN ❤VAL KILLED IT IN THIS👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Best western ever imo. Give Unforgiven a look, it’s also right up there with this one.
If you liked this, other westerns to consider are: Unforgiven and Maverick. Unforgiven is very serious and Maverick is more of a fun comedy.
We had ham sandwiches.
You knew most of the people in this, but you didn't get who played Ringo. He is the "most important" person, cause he played Kyle on the Terminator. Without him we all DIE!! 😂😂😊
one of my favorite westerns of all time.
Thanks !
Pale Rider
Unforgiven
The Searchers
all really good westerns.
Wyatt: "Thanks for always being there, Doc."
Me: 😢
