Sad nowadays that flight attendants have to learn self defense while just trying to do their job but angry passengers lose control. But at least what they learned in self defense class will help them not just on planes but somewhere else.
It’s not sad it’s actually a good thing (well I’m a way no job should force to learn self defense but some office jobs do teach people how to handle emergency situations in case the building is on fire) still that’s the beauty of the program the attacker will think twice before continuing to do harm.
@@katemiller7874 I’ve been seeing that too and Cuba. I guess it takes a pandemic for the world to ‘know’ civil unrest, inequality and inequity. As someone that is deep into martial arts, I think everyone should learn an art. Also, everyone notice how the expert instinctively grabs his hand back before she even knows what he is doing. That's a good teacher right there. Lastly, love how they used an average size woman as their expert
What is wrong with people? Just because you’re in the air doesn’t mean you won’t get kicked off and arrest once the plane has landed. This is why they’re getting self defence lessons.
It’s very sad that these people have to take self defense classes so they can save themselves from getting brutally attacked. What has this world become.
This is pathetic. To think airline attendants have to be serving up a side of self defense instead of a danish with the coffee. Refusing to wear her seatbelt? Let this be a warning to the police in her hometown. If you have to stop hee for anything be prepared. If she won’t wear a seatbelt she probably isn’t wearing one in her car either. We had a group on my last flight that would shut off their devices and put their seats in the upright position. The male flight attendant handled it well. The last lady finally complied. So rude.
I read that showed one unruly passenger was restrained to her seat with duct tape when she tried to open the cabin door. The pictures made it look like they had dedicated a whole roll to taping her mouth shut.
Is this an American thing? I've been flying hundreds of times during the pandemic and never seen it happen in Asian flights, but I've seen an American woman freak out just a few months ago.
to be honest, self defense is more of a universal thing and shouldn't be seen no different than learning it to protect yourself anywhere and on an airplane. Danger can strike anywhere
I hate when they show self defense demonstrations on a person who is standing still not doing anything 🙄making people think it’ll be that easy to stop an attacker. it’s unrealistic.
@@lucylaurent134 what about if you encountered Butch, 6’4 and 230 lbs with hands the size of your head? Would they work much then? I know that violent crimes go up in the summer because the heat seriously gets to people but this is insane. If you have family even remotely capable of this, make them go to anger management. I could never stand by knowing someone I love was capable of this, even with the current heat and stress of last 18 months. Im starting to think anger management should be a requirement annually for everyone!!
They definitely need to give monetary, jail, and loss of flying privilege consequences and I think this would curtail this behavior. They also might want to stop serving alcohol but that would cost them money, so I don't think they'll do it. If they have documented mental health issues then they need to be evaluated and given medications to take before the flight. If they want to curb this behavior they can.
