I took my husband to A&E with excruciating pain in his leg he was screaming the DR came in and told him to stop screaming it was just cyatic pain he was rushed to surgery hours later they had to amputate his leg he had a massive blood clot blocking blood flow to his leg. His leg died and was killing him. That DR was so rude and dismissive
Doctors are unfortunately a set of brainwashed entitled socialists there for the salaries. NHS is a failed communist Ideology which costs lives. Throwing more money at the monster won't solve it.
I’m so sick of the Nhs getting away with this now! She was a young girl! She should not of lost her life like this! Nhs need to be held accountable for every preventable death! And preventable life changing injury.
This is so aggravating. I don’t understand why health professionals think parents and patients are lying sometimes. Our 6month old had mottled skin and fever and lips turned slightly blue. By the time the ambulance came, several symptoms had gone and I could tell the paramedics thought I was lying….we now take videos and photos when kids are ill so we have proof. Im so so sorry for your loss 🙏🏻 and thank you for fighting this so other parents won’t, hopefully, need to suffer.
Try to attend GP with a family member. Never leave family alone in A&E. Keep a family notebook fr NHS visits in a drawer somewhere, w a pen. Just Document visit dates, brief notes. Sadly, many many cases of cover ups and negligence. Once a notebook is a habit, just takes a small effort to keep track.
So sad . Chloe should have been listened to and taken seriously. It is shocking how Chloe was treated by professionals. It should of been treated immediately. There should of been high quality care . Chloe should of been given life saving treatment. Chloe was so positive. Chloe smile is infectious. What a beautiful girl Chloe was . What a lovely girl Chloe was . No parent should have to witness there daughter deteriorating in this way . My heart goes out to Chloe's family. My condolences to Chloe's family ❤❤❤
My son and I are sepsis survivors. My experienced midwife didn’t spot the signs I had all of them she also told me off for panting. We are disabled now through sepsis but here. My anaesthesiologist in theatre for emergency c section spotted the signs and saved us. I owe him my sons and my life. Pls continue to raise awareness in your daughters memory you will get change then and save lives. So sorry for your loss x
God bless Chloe and her parents and siblings, may this sad story of Chloe’s death be a lesson to all Drs, Nurses throughout the country. Children don’t deserve not to be listened to, nor do their symptoms.😢
When i had my second child they didn't tell us that they treated for possible sepsis .we found out when we looked ourselves on the paperwork .this was a year ago at stoke mandeville hospital
That is messed up, it is extremely important to know if you have had sepsis because sepsis can have some lifelong complications (most common is you are more susceptible to getting it again)
It seems in these cases complaints to the hospital don't work, unless someone dies. I noticed they get entertained when things get to national media. Apart from demanding a second opinion, it helps being very vocal that you intend to involve national news channels. You'll see doctors and nurses moving very quickly, busy or not.
It is worrying that these high profile cases have been highlighted for YEARS AND YEARS and it feels like the medical profession has not moved on this AT ALL! Why is time standing still on the treatment of sepsis? Is it a cultural issue for the UK only? Are other countries standing still on this issue?
Thanks for sharing hopefully we can save others. But medically if doctor's don't act quickly what can you do. Transfer your child? 2nd opinion or let them put down your questions? Crazy illness comes any time.
Oh my days. This is so frustrating. I’m an emergency nurse and now work in GP practice. I don’t understand why clinicians don’t check and double check sepsis markers for almost EVERYTHING. And then recheck. Even if I have a minor cut come in I give sepsis advice and leaflets. It’s infuriating how avoidable this tragedy can sometimes be. My absolute heart goes out to them.
1. RIP and condolences to your family 😢❤ 2. It is utterly ridiculous that this even happened. The onus should not be on the parents to ask the doctors and nurses whether it could be sepsis. The doctors are trained medical professionals and should be doing their jobs properly. How on Earth do they expect parents and other individuals who are at hospitals, who likely are experiencing a lot of stress as is and who are NOT trained, to know this information and to have to ask basic questions that the medical professionals should already be asking themselves upon making their assessments? This is absurd. Everything should be taken seriously at the hospital, medical staff should be doing what they're trained and paid to do, and this is a prime example of gross negligence. The nurses and doctors responsible should have their licenses/certificates revoked. Those responsible should also face jail time for this young person's death.
So sad it should never have happened, sadly it’s not just that hospital there are others with the same attitude,it’s time they learned to listen to family members , it’s time to put a stop to bad care in hospitals
My father passed from something very similar to sepsis. It was very quick and completely unexpected. He was shivering, but it wasn’t cold. He never got sick and he had a cold. When we called an ambulance, they said they think he might have sepsis. He looked so shocked and he was really poorly. My mother went with him in the ambulance. His temperature was also high aswell. He stayed overnight and came home two days later, they said his temperature was normal again and the shivering stopped, and also sent some anti-constipation medication sachets. He spent his final night in his own home, his own bed, with his wife, and daughter nearby. He didn’t sleep much but he was so so glad to be home. He took a fall the next day in the bathroom, couldn’t get up (he was a large man), I heard him dying; the toilet door was locked and he was struggling to get up and breathe. Then there was silence. My mother called his name and there was no response , so she immediately called 999. I helped get the door unlocked but my father was trapped and we couldn’t get the hinges off the door in time to resuscitate. A neighbour helped but it took too long. He had gone. 😢💗💔my beautiful papa was 64, and I don’t fully blame the NHS but they could have done a lot more. They should have been extra cautious. We need better diagnostics in place, as well as more tests. Sepsis is real y’all..Spot the signs. Even if it’s 2 of the 6. Don’t wait for it to pass. Go to the emergency room and insist to be seen.
This happened to me 12 years ago i had just had my daughter who was 4 weeks old i went to a&e after being in horrendous pain and i kept getting palmed off with painkillers and gaviscon because they tried to put it down to trapped wind!!!! After being sent home 3 times in the same day it wasnt till i was jaundice and passing out that they eventually took blood that they realised i had sepsis and pancreatis and dr said if i didnt come back in when i did i would of died its absolutley ridiculous that messures are still not being taken to rule out stuff this poor family.
What an appalling neglect by medics in one of the most developed of nations! Anyone can easily guess what would be happening with patients in developing nations.
That’s a very wrong assumption. In developing nations there’s a very low threshold to giving antibiotics so a child might rather die from antibiotics not working rather than not being given them.
Sepsis nearly claimed by Dad's life at Blackburn Royal Infirmary back in 2010. He ended up on life support and only narrowly survived coming out with permanent conditions from the ICU itself. The nurses were curt, arrogant and negligent.
My brother wasn't tested for sepsis at A&E and was told to go home and rest. When he went back to GP, that's when he was properly treated. This happened because the NHS are desperate for staff, so they hier anyone.
Poor family and girl. Not just preventable but the appalling attitudes of the medical staff is inexcusable . Her last moments were spent in agony being bullied by the people who were responsible for her care.
I have a best friend who has had sepsis 10 times and survived it. Chloe should have received constant IV antibiotics and IV fluids to get rid of the infection. Its horrific what her family had to deal with and if her and her family persisted to get her treatment when the signs first came up Chloe would probably still be alive
They always assume it’s a dramatic teenager or an over the top parent! I have also noticed when they do bloods they only tick a few boxes when they should be checking everything, nobody can afford to go private but they are the only people who will take you seriously and you’d be so surprised at the all of underlying issues you currently have that the nhs has failed to pick up 😔
7:34 I get what they mean by saying welcome to A&E but we shouldn't have to normalize this. Nurses shouldn't be so overworked that they don't think to test for sepsis, A&E's shouldn't be so overrun that people don't get the care they need.
To many and nurses doing it just for pay check if you don't have passion you need to leave the care industry. Seeing it far to often calm down when someone's in agony wheres the compassion disgraceful
The hav power of our patient bad nurse manager Dr GP school teachers social workers mental health team . Do care list to but bully rud upset you more making lies against us go against us
I was pregnant and have a c section planned for the next day... hubby phoned the hospital and said I wasn't well, they said take paracetamol husband said he bringing me in, which they said that fine but she will have to wait for hours, as maternity is busy. Went in, they made us wait for an hour, even though there was just another pregnant woman there. took me in and then they realised how bad I was... then they started rushing about. They realised I had sepsis. If my hubby didn't go with his instinct then I wouldn't be here
I am another one to add my story. Got a very nasty flu 2 years ago on the 21st of December. Sounds as if „it’s only flu”, but we all know it can be fatal for many. I was progressively getting worse, presenting with huge chest pain on the left side, fever not responding to drugs. I seen the GP twice, and I went twice to A&E. I was sent home from there once. The second time on the 24.12 I refused to leave, without bloods, chest x-rays and ecg. I NEVER seen the doctor there once. The nurse insisted on discharging me. I told her I want an official letter from her stating she is fully aware of my leftsided chest pain, refusing a heart scan, me being neuropenic with sky high CRP protein and her refusing my access to a doctor and antibiotics to prevent sepsis, also aware I live alone, it’s Christmas, and in case of fainting at home there is nobody who can help me until my returning from Christmas neighbours can smell my corps, and I then will agree leave. Result: they took my chest X-rays, a swab, and still refused to prescribe any drugs. The doctor hasn’t even assessed my X-rays, and the nurse was assuring me she has same level of knowledge and qualifications. They didn’t keep me even for a drip. Nothing. Let a neutropenic patient go home with a severe chest pain. I realised I was fighting for my life, I was so desperate, I booked same day flight ticket home to EU. Where I received help from doctors - diagnosed with myocarditis, and spent 21 days recovering. NHS is an absolute disgrace. Never let down your instincts. Fight for your loved ones! It’s your life. Now I always record everything, make them sign everything and I will contact my lawyer if I have to next time.
Why has Good Morning Britian not invited anybody from Libs Dem to their program. I believe Farage is their candidate for next election, spend a lot of time on him.
