Can I suggest a new branch for your company - AutomatricsMTrack
Retribution Squad. The idea being you sit a watch who turns up and picks the bike up, stick them in a shipping container and go to work on them with a baseball bat, then send that container on a slow boat to China.

It is more important to catch the thief rather than just to recover the vehicle as most thieves are often repeat offenders! Simply be patience and film the thief returning to the stolen vehicle!

    • @drivejapan6293
      @drivejapan6293 5 років тому +2

Manpower cost money. While it would be great to sit and catch them it's not worth the cost when you don't know how long they are going to let it sit and "cool off" before coming back. Then if they spot them before touching the bike and never come back it's a waste. Or even if you do get them on camera they may still get away and the bike is gone. Then there is the problem of even though you see them riding the bike it hard to prove they stole it. That's just a few if the reasons they don't wait for someone to come back.

    • @haiho9918

These are your usual excuses given by the companies that operates these tracking devices. It is not in Automatrics best interests to not catch these thieves as they drive the purchase and uptake of the tracker units. If modern technologies can track a stolen vehicle, the same technology can do much, much more! Look for solutions that work rather than excuses that won't.@@drivejapan6293

    • @drivejapan6293

@@haiho9918 it's not for or against their best interest. It's about what their customers want and are willing to pay for.
There are plenty of solutions that can work (to get an arrest) but they all cost money. Neither technology or manpower is free. Someone will have to flip the bill.
If automatrix (sp) had their basic services for £40 a month and they offered a service with 100% conviction rate IF you vehicle was stolen for £300 a month would you buy it? (example cost not actual) Probably not.

So the culprit is now out looking for another bike to nick! & no doubt after a few trials & errors they're gonna get lucky and nab one withoutr a tracker?! They actually need the shit kicking out of them - some real life deterrent; Without some justice being meted-out to them (no matter what form that takes!) then its just a case of catch-up, over and over again.
Yeah sure the Insurers are gonna sort it out but thats far from ideal & not a solution because this fellas premiums (and anyone elses)are gonna go up & up & up.
What also irks me is the cops saying 'glad you sorted it and got it back because we're a little busy right now'!! they could at least inspect that cover for finger print evidence?! Had this been the Prime Ministers bicycle they'd of had the street cordoned-off and men walking around in full hazmat suits!

I had to radio track Rock Wallabies with a Yagi in the Flinders Ranges for 3 weeks for the National Parks & Wildlife Service back in 2000 as part of a GIS Course, great fun and the same beeping sound!
We would work in teams of 3 and take bearings and triangulate and track them throughout the day. There were about 30 or so different monitoring frequencies we had to check every half hour. If a signal failed to move during the day we would have to find it and check to see if the Wallabie was either dead or injured. Unfortunately we found the remainds of 2 or 3 of them taken by foxes.

This does not make sense to me. Here is why. All of these vehicles are really being stolen for not reason but the manufacturer. Here is why I say that. My Jeep is a 2004. I have two keys to it. Both will start it with a catch. If I have just a key, it will start but shut wright back off. You can do it time and time again and get no where. If I have the key with the key bob, I can run it until it breaks down or runs out of gas. I know on very few anything is this way. Although mine is an 2004. You can't jump it to keep it running or anything. You must have the key bob to make it go. So in all, I can only blame the manufacturers. Not the owners. The technology has been here for over 10 years. Thanks for your videos.

I can't believe your police being so inept. The chance to catch criminals and they just let it slip away. Finger prints and other forensic just wasted.anyway keep up the good work and maybe cut back on your info and details output .bit to much got out then.

Do you guys send out people to track down the stolen property every time something is reported stolen? If so then I may be interested in your service.
But I imagine that for most people you will simply provide a GPS location and leave the rest up to the owner (especially if it's far away)? Am I right?
I wouldn't want to be in the frustrating position of being told by a GPS blip that my bike is in some lockup across town and then having to try and convince the police to recover it for me. In my experience, the police simply say to the public "GPS tracking is not enough evidence to force entry to private premises". The police are more interested in prosecuting people for impolite comments posted online than dealing with theft.

I wonder if the thieves lived nearby or simply parked it there after they couldn't find any trace of a tracker? .A great result, as someone once said to me ,"Theft is the most vicious crime you can experience " .

They sometimes do that. Leave it in a random location for a few days until they know that the bike hasn't been tracked.

I dont understand why you did not sit and wait patiently in a car and take photos of the thief, I realise this could take a few days.
But the photos of someone handling the bike immediately puts them to the theft and at least get them done for handling stolen property.

We are a theft recovery company for our customers who want assets back ASAP. We could support operations such as bait vehicles to help catch criminals using stake outs, however UK entrapment legislation can prevent successful prosecutions, so not an easy process.

Thieves or their mates probably watched you recover that from behind the curtains, they like line of sight on freshly stolen bikes if possible. The neighbours all know who plotted the bike up there but they will never "grass" on their neighbours in case of retribution. They were clearly looking for the tracker and just waiting you guys out, 3 or 4 days and they would be good to go on that bike and work on it somewhere nearby. If you went back you will probably see the next stolen bike in the same place under the same stolen cover. The police are no use now they are busy on hate texts and revenue generation from motorists, this crime is such low priority they will never come out, you are on your own. No police, no law enforcement, breakdown of society, sounds like a government plan. The wealthy do not ride scooters lol. Instead of the full retribution option it would have been fun to have left a cardboard cutout bike under the cover or a scrap lawnmower. I reckon owner needs to trade that bike fast and buy a travel card, they will just go back once it is repaired or replaced. The retribution boys are dreaming and watching too much TV, it can be done with time, skills and cash resources but it leads to tit for tat and lets face it there are hundreds of these people so where does it stop, unless you know someone like "Brick-top" with a pig farm and get fully committed lol, now that was a good movie.
