I had a scooter in London 1956 -1958. I always left it parked on the street during the day and overnight as did many owners of scooters. Never touched or stolen. 40 years later I visited the school where I had taught. I told the caretaker where I left it during the day, and he said that now it would have been stolen or damaged. Our society has certainly changed.
Two criminals threatening people with machetes stole that scooter, and the police want to charge the victim £150 to have the scooter forensically examined... It shows you that the authorities are NOT interested in stopping or arresting these criminals. And that is the reason this type of crime flourishes in London.
Did I hear right, that the police were telling this guy that he would have to pay £150 if he wanted them to collect evidence and investigate this crime? What the actual fuck is going on in Britain these days?! What good did calling the police even do? The only good thing that came from calling the police was that the legit owner of the scooter wouldn't be assumed to be the person committing the armed robbery since he had reported it stolen. Imagine how much better our society could be if the police had all the funding needed to investigate crimes. So much money is being thrown into the welfare system that it's crippling this country. Oldbatwit is perfectly correct, I have metallurgy experience, high carbon content steel, especially some poorly heat-treated cheap imports, can break when subject to certain forces, including dropping only from a height of one and a half metres onto a concrete surface.

Spring loaded knife below the seat to be deployed upon riding away when stolen. That would solve the issue!
Last week, 2 moped attacked me and stole my scooter off me, can any1 help me with it I reported to police but I'm sure they can't do anything because they are to lazy
If this was mine i would be tempted to put C4 under the seat and when they drove it off, KABOOM.
One less thieving bastard.
there want the hard way about cutting that lock . im not going to post the easy way
Picklock that bitch
no a lot more simple than that
You mean that piece of wire you have to stick into the ignition lock?
Maybe he should use that electronic device to get anouther scouter.
Spelt wrong! Should be automaterics
Buy a pink one, Might not be so keen on riding it
So because somebody never actually died from the machete scum they weren't bothered about forensics. And it says on police cars "proud to serve and protect" what a joke.
I had one of those Kryptonites, cost me £38. I dropped it and it broke!
Crapped-on-nite
Oldbatwit is perfectly correct, I have metallurgy experience, high carbon content steel, especially some poorly heat-treated cheap imports, can break when subject to certain forces, including dropping only from a height of one and a half metres onto a concrete surface.
A thief wouldn`t "break" your security device with a cordless angle grinder, they`d cut through it with an industrial grade diamond disc in seconds...not "50 minutes"
Oh good, if you sleep with it you`ll be fine ;)
Someone he knows is stealing it
His insurance should be void with that bicycle lock! Oh dear.
Callum Burns it doesn’t matter if it only had a bicycle lock on it atleast it was locked up most of them are left unlocked so the insurance is fine
@@Xplorewithmatt Why I said SHOULD. They SHOULD void the claim for using something that I wouldn't even use to lock up a BBQ!
Callum Burns maybe mate but I’ve been reading the reviews on that lock in the past and apparently it’s hardened steel on it or something and my motorcycle dealer was selling them as motorbike locks as-well
@@Xplorewithmatt the thickness of the lock means it even with hardened steel its easy to attack it with an angle grinder or bolt cutters. These are push bike locks designed to be annoying for a would be thief and to go after an easier target.
Callum Burns that’s a good point mate I’m glad I lock my bike up with more that one lock and sometimes it’s got miniman of 5 locks
Shocking!
5:47 60 minutes is good?
wow you now have to pay for the police to check your stolen goods for finger prints, crazy world all geared towards the crooks
That poor vespa...
great job
The police like public khazis run on bits of paper always take names numbers etc and who said what then get a solicitor or place it in hands of insurers legal protection
The minor so-called "incident on this stolen Vespa" a couple of guys driving around with machetes trying to rob cars..
Beautiful sectarian-London in a nutshell and if you want them to do police work so they can identify the machete waving robbers the victim of the original Vespa-theft needs to pay it.(freaking hilarious) .
Kraptonite ..made of marshmallows
Cheap kryptonite lock
Good stuff
