Let me rephrase this I couldn't understand a word that came out of this dudes mouth. Also your intro is ass. Why the unnecessary pause. Lol
Weird. I could understand it all. Everyone’s different I suppose
Part of it was because they were drunk as hell in that and forgot half of the words. If want to really hear the words go to the studio version
you guys are hating bitches..i grew up on this shit. if you cant understand it go back to your mumble rap bullshit. Fuck off posers
I grew up on it too that was a fact in an interview why Phil was missing words out of the song it was stated not only Phil but all of pantera was either drunk or high durning the monsters of rock fest in Moscow
@@donnieclayton7026 what does the live performance of a diff song have to do witht the studio version of this song?
When I see people react to the songs I first heard 30 years ago makes me smile
Right!
❤
I appreciate how you can appreciate the awesomeness of Pantera. Phil's vocal range, back in the day, was out of this world.
Dimebag was such a huge Van Halen fan, he got buried with one of his guitars.
FACTS. The Bumblebee guitar from the VHII cover.
Not just any guitar though the fucking legendary bumblebee. That’s about the highest honor dime could have gotten apart form the fact that he will never die in the hearts of us fans now and future. He is the greatest of all times imo no one could touch the soul he put in to his playing
Was a huge KISS FAN. Layed to rest in a Kiss Coffin. Great Man. Great Guitarist
The red one I believe, the one he always wanted from Eddie
The bumble bee guitar which was placed in the casket with Dimebag by EVH....now that is some serious RESPECT...
One of the greatest guitarists to ever do it. Fun fact: Dimebag was so good that they banned him from guitar contests at 16, and yes, made him a judge. lol
that picture of young Pantera has me cracking up. Phil's hair!
Looking like a glammer.
You know he’s feeling it when he’s got the “something fucking stinks” face on
Bahahaha
8:43 when he slides down his chair hearing Phil's bossman vocal range-awesome reaction
you reacted to the right version, too many ppl dont listen to the full version
Dimebag Darrell was the god of the electric guitar! He’s the reason that I even picked up a guitar. Epic.
Have you ever heard Phil speak? That high note will BLOW YOUR MIND if you hear his speaking voice. And Dimebag. And Vinnie. AND REX. Stronger than all!! The song's about moving past the death of a loved one, to live again. One foot in front of the other, as Phil says.
Edited to ask- where's the vid for 10s? Not on your channel, cause I looked!
I meant to say that I've heard 10s but haven't reacted to it, I've only reacted to Planet Caravan
He has the deepest voice!
He won't hit that notes today.
@@gonzo2495 Well, Gonzo, a lot of us can't do the things we did in 1989, but I have a feeling a determined Philip Anselmo probably has a better shot than most at achieving a goal like that, if he had a mind to.
@@MsCruisein I'm a Pantera Fan since the beginning 90s and just realistic. He even said it by himself afair. ;)
Awesome song rip dimebag and vinnie
That drop though.... Epic. Rip Dimebag & Vinnie Paul.
The scream vs. guitar wail battle at the end of this track is one of the most cleverly haunting tones. Glad you liked this. Keep digging into Pantera, you won't be let down. :)
Cowboys from Hell, Walk and This Love are their best ones!
2 walkoffs in one reaction! Pantera is right up your alley G. U will love all their stuff I promise u. I shall be watching
Not only do I love what seems to be a true visceral reaction when you feel it (not trying to act blown away & willing to say if you're not feeling something) but I also appreciate you reading the lyrics, giving us your impression of them, & then looking up the song's meaning. The music & lyrics make a song. I can't imagine never really hearing Rush lyrics. I need to read some myself as there are many I've been singing wrong for decades! Also, I cackled with each face & walk away you did here!
First pantera song I ever heard. Still makes my jaw drop at the end lol.
love your reaction Dude... had the same when i first listened to this song back in 1990. RIP Vinnie and Dimebag... this is so sad nobody will ever listen to this song live with the two brothers playing, Thanx for your reaction again... their souls live on...
Incredible reaction. That photo of the band is so funny looking right now. In the video to this song, Phil has a mohawk!
Glad you actually enjoyed every second of the song, cheers ❤️
FLOODS! Pantera!
Pantera - FLOODS !!!!
These boys are from the south. Well Texas is pretty much the same as the south. Any way they're from Texas and Phil's from Louisiana. There's an old saying or some kind of superstition maybe, I dont remember, but my grandma and mom would say "Make sure your doors are unlocked! We're going past the gates of the cemetery!" It has something to do with the spirits is all I know. Just an old superstition of sorts. Great reaction btw!!!! Love honest people that react!!! No bullshit!
Also you should look Phil up on UA-cam and listen to his voice. He's a strong baritone, talking anyways, lol!
Great songs to react to by them are: 5 Minutes Alone, This Love, Primal Concrete Sledge(live in Moscow 1991), Floods, Revolution is my Name, Cowboys from Hell! Etc etc etc!! They're the best of the best!!!! Metal!!!
Finally someone who loves Cemetary Gates as much as me! Wait till you hear it a few more times, it just gets better!!!!
Much love and respect, always
I got see Panera in a little dive bar back in like fall of 1988 when I was stationed at ft sill ,oklahoma .they freaking blew the place up, place could hold maybe 150 peoplke, but this was sardine packed lol.but even then you knew these dudes were destined to take over
R I P Dime and Vinnie!!!
GREAT tune!! LMAO @ the walkout!! Pantera is one of the BEST powerhouse bands I have ever heard. SUCH a unique sound and definitely set the bar very high for anyone attempting to follow in their footsteps. The song Cowboys From hell is what kicked my ass through the door of heavy metal...I never regret it and I have NEVER looked back, I am extremely thankful for having lived in this time to be able to experience their awesome music live...I even met Vinnie once, one HELL of a nice guy!
CAREFUL with the stankface Jay...it'll stick like that LOL! LMMFAO@ the 2nd walkaway....knowing a bigger and better high note was coming! Goosebumps! You'd better hope you got enough room on that playlist, because there is a lot more Pantera that will go on it!! I always thought the song was about losing a loved one. Great reaction and breakdown on the lyrics, thanks!! You GOTTA check out the title track to Cowboys From Hell as well as another track of that AWESOME release called DOMINATION!!
Check out This Love, or Revolution is My Name
Texas metal at its best. Had chance to meet them in their prime and hang out with vinny years later. Rip Vinny and Dime
That's fire, dude. Pantera I one of my faves from the 90s. I'm almost 50 now and LOVE metal. Love other genres but my heart belongs to metal. Great react. I have to salute you with horns, bud 🤘🤘
Awesome reaction brother, they were one of the greatest power metal bands in their time.. hands down
Onya pal. U break down music so well!! As a person that has lived in many countries, nice to hear a man like u listening to metal
I'm Broken - Video version only!!! MIND BLOWER!!!
GOTTA check "Walk"
Nope. Floods.
Growing up in Dallas Pantera was local legends
Great song I grew up with. So glad young kids are stepping out into the world and experiencing a variety of great music.
I'm sharing this reaction on my Instagram as well as Facebook pages. It's an amazing reaction!
I absolutely love when new people find or are introduced to the music of my youth. Letting them experience the light that helped me through what was very dark times for me.
Who else was thinking towards the end that was just the 1st high vocals 😆. His head is bout to explode
fun fact: pantera actually had a song featured on an episode of Spongebob Squarepants lol
Of all the reactions I've watched for thus song not a single one talks about the bass. Thanks for knowing what you are talking about
He's saying .. before you see the light you must diiiiiiiiiiie !!!
Thru friends in a couple of Metal bands and the PR business i got to know the Abbott brothers. They were the best dudes ever. Down home regular guy's who always had time for their friends and fans. I still can't believe they are both gone. Shout out to Rex too, he's a great guy. Phil was a different animal.
Nice reaction and lol to the pic of panteras hair metal days with chubby dimebag. gg
Perfect... emotional
Comin' in early with the stank face. Love it!
Southern power groove lives on........
I knew youd like this, the drums, the bass, the changing beats , the singer shows how talented he is. Its been my favorite lately. The live version shows more
Good band from Dallas and Abilene, TX
i love the respect.
I'm so glad you like this song. It was awesome in concert
This song has an energy all of it's own. Love it and thank you for sharing.
Yep thanks for taking the suggestion of not doing the actual video because they missed that first part that first instrumental part. And I knew you would like this yes like they are saying Cowboys from Hell and Walk are the next two to do off of these guys. Saw them in 1997 Ozzfest. I think that was a peak of their career sad story about how the guitarist died in Columbus Ohio
Love the content man keep it up!!!!
Thank you for doing pantera I saw them 9 times my favorite metal band of all time
Crazy this is your 3rd song and haven't done either "Walk" or "Cowboys From Hell". Every reaction to this song I always fast forward to the vocal/guitar pitch mimicking battle at the end and then go back and watch the whole thing lol.
I’m sure someone has said this but alot of this song is about close friends dying.
The words “I will not lock my door and pass the cemetery gate” reference an old southern tradition of locking your doors when you pass a graveyard because if you don’t the spirits will follow you home, In context of the song it means he’s hoping they follow him home
Not gonna oversell it but Dime was one of the few who took EVH and built on that. A great riff and lead player, with that distinctive, gated top end fizz and of course the whammy pedal. Jam on brothers.
Nice choice
Imo metal is the best type of music 😇
the best react at the end LOL
Hahaha you literally melted
Awesome reaction brother..👏🏼🤘🏼..great channel👍🏼
Jay~Pantera is a DEEP rabbitt hole to venture down into...but so great & rewarding! Great review as always my brother~
Slaughtered!
What a song. Found this song recently. The guitar riffs are crazy and vocals wow
Top class reaction boss
Walk. Great song
Hey Jay great video, great song. The lyrics are about a girlfriend that passed and being at her funeral and the feeling surrounding it, and the possibility of rejoining her in the after life.
love the vids. Bands / Songs i grew up on. Not sure what your musical background is, but you know what you are talking about. Your calls on changes, effects, timing, etc. are spot on.. thanks
white, black, brown, yellow, purple, orange. Don't matter, I love seeing people hear this song for the first time
💜💜💜💜
More Pantera dude!!!! We're waiting Jay Rah Visions, cause theses lads will take you places youve only dreamt of. Guaranteed
hahaha the glam look that pantera had. hard to believe that's actually them but it is lol
Your reaction is priceless
Pantera - You've got to belong to it
... you can than me later, haha!
Little old band from TEXAS .
"Aja" and "Cemetery Gates", in the same night, is max diversity.
Good is good, very much appreciated. Imagine even one person who heard one but not the other discovering a whole new thing.
The green screen/backdrop is BEAST!!!
I'm glad that you reacted to the album cut and not the edited version from the official music video.
Real Reactor ⚡👆!
Phil Anselmo....Im so glad you did this one! Please do
"Walk" next!!!!
I believe the song is about, a man whose woman has died, he is completely distraught and without solace. Reflecting on his life and the loss of the one good thing in his life he pines to "pass through the cemetery gates" to join her.
You were correct in not playing the official video, they cut out some of the beginning of this song for the video. Why? Who knows...
You gotta do "This Love" next! It's amazing too!!!
Yoooooo🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I was honestly worried if you'd make it through😂🤣
Yep! Phil is cut from marble.
The best metal band ever 🤘🤘🤘 with the best guitarist even in Dimebag Darrell. RIP DD 🙏 🎸🤘🤘🎸🎸 you have to watch PANTERA LIVE IN MOSCOW- DOMINATION
Domination next!!!!!
The part of this video that is creative is the intro. And that's it lol.
👍🤙🔥
R.I.P. Dimebag n Vinnie Paul.
I dunno what they did to Rex Brown's bass in the intro, but it's so clear and beautiful, it almost sounds like a piano.
the opposite of what metallica did to jason newstead's on and justice for all :P lol i know its probably an old joke by now but i couldnt resist
Check out their live version of Domination.
I got turned on to Pantera about 9 or 10yrs ago and the song that got me was WALK it jumped up and smacked me up side the head and haven't been right since ‼️🤘 You'll know what I mean once it hits you ‼️🤘👍♥️
Shattered by Pantera is the song you want to listen to, to see Phil's vocal range.
🔥🔥🔥
It'd be interesting to see you react to some of their later stuff because it has the same vocalist but he sounds completely different. Try yesterday dont mean shit live ozzfest (so you can get an idea of their look and energy towards the end of the band, suicide note part 1 and 2, or hellbound also you'll probably want lyric videos
