I tried so many butter based recipes and could never get the texture right but this recipe literally blows my mind, the cake is so soft and fluffy and takes like the bakery. I made my friends 2 tiered wedding cake with this recipe (and some passionfruit/guava curd) and everyone loved it. It really doesn’t taste oily or cornbread-y, just trust the process!!

I think it is smart to prep the pans that will be used before starting the cake mixing instead of after. Baking powder as a leavening reacts as soon as it touches the liquid. You will get better results by doing this step.

First time I used this recipe was in June, it was my first time properly baking and decorating a cake for a birthday and it was a huge success now fast forward to October and I still absolutely love and use this recipe all the time! It comes out perfect each time. I’ve even used it to make cupcakes and lemon cakes ( all I had to do was use some lemon extract/ lemon zest and juice). I’ll definitely recommend this recipe and video! 💕 I’m still always getting compliments on the cakes and I’m currently in the process of baking one now 🙈😂.

I'm 11 and I tried baking this cake It turner out very good! My mum helped me assemble the pan with the paper and etc. Left it for around 20 mins and Cooked it for 40 mins! Can't wait to try the cake with my family with some tea/coffee :)
I made this cake and followed the video instructions I used 2 8 in instead of 6 and both cakes seemed dense. I did not over mix. I actually followed along with the video mixing times and I also sifted the flour. I did have to substitute baking soda for the cake flour, which is a hack she suggested in another video. I gave the cake to others and they said it was good. It was too heavy for me, but if you’re looking for a sturdier cake then this is a good recipe.

I tried this and it's the best hands down, also did the 30 minutes in the fridge turn out lovely received nothing but compliments and it holds up great under fondant.
The cake turned out really well. Midway I realised that I didn't have enough flour. So I added wheat flour, almost 0.75 cups( it's a common flour in Indian households so always available). The cakes turned out very smooth and tasty. The batter was sufficient for two cakes and 6 cup cakes. Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe.

as a side note id recommend adding the sugar to the eggs slowly bit by bit to keep the air in the eggs as you whisk like you do with macaroons but only if you want a really airy cake this video is wonderful thank you so much ill be making this for my 1st anniversary

For the eggless vanilla: 1 cup of milk 1 cup of sugar 2 1/4 cups of flour 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 tsp baking powder Pinch of salt 1 tsp vanilla and add the zest of half a lemon (or less) for flavour (this is optional) Prepare your dry ingredients, your wet ingredients and then incorporate wet to dry, mix until combined! I'm 11 and I tried baking this cake It turner out very good! My mum helped me assemble the pan with the paper and etc. Left it for around 20 mins and Cooked it for 40 mins! Can't wait to try the cake with my family with some tea/coffee :)

I made this cake and followed the video instructions I used 2 8 in instead of 6 and both cakes seemed dense. I did not over mix. I actually followed along with the video mixing times and I also sifted the flour. I did have to substitute baking soda for the cake flour, which is a hack she suggested in another video. I gave the cake to others and they said it was good. It was too heavy for me, but if you’re looking for a sturdier cake then this is a good recipe.

The cake turned out really well. Midway I realised that I didn't have enough flour. So I added wheat flour, almost 0.75 cups( it's a common flour in Indian households so always available). The cakes turned out very smooth and tasty. The batter was sufficient for two cakes and 6 cup cakes. Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe.

as a side note id recommend adding the sugar to the eggs slowly bit by bit to keep the air in the eggs as you whisk like you do with macaroons but only if you want a really airy cake this video is wonderful thank you so much ill be making this for my 1st anniversary

I’m making this cake right now for my friends birthday and I’m at the step where you put it in the fridge I tried it before putting it in is it supposed to taste good before cooking it? I know this sounds weird I like to taste the cake to make sure it’s good before cooking
I personally never taste a raw cake cause I’m paranoid when it comes to raw eggs 🙊 but i bet it tastes good before baking! It should, cause it tastes great when baked 😅
lol i try the batter all the time. If the batter tastes good though, chances are the cake will too- if cooked correctly!

Thank you! I haven't mastered an eggless vanilla recipe to post yet, but I'll share one here! Will also post the link to my eggless chocolate cake that I LOVE!
For the eggless vanilla:
1 cup of milk
1 cup of sugar
2 1/4 cups of flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla
and add the zest of half a lemon (or less) for flavour (this is optional)
Prepare your dry ingredients, your wet ingredients and then incorporate wet to dry, mix until combined!
The baking process would be similar to this cake (The on tin this video)
