Just to clarify...are you looking for a double knitted brim using magic loop? or just a basic single knit folded over brim with magic loop?

@jacqknits just a folded rim on magic loop for now. Just alittle unsure on the whip stitch part on this needle. Using size 1, 144 sts 40 length cord. Almost done with my 6 inches then fold.

@@yvonnevigil7489 OK. I'm not famiiar with the whip stitch you are referring to with a brim. You really don't have to do anything other than continue to do what you are doing with your knitting on the magic loop. Just make your length long enough for the brim to fold over, then continue with the rest of your hat. I'm sorry if I may be misunderstanding your question.

@jacqknits maybe whip stitch isn't the term (sorry). Basically I have made these hats on 16 inches circulars but not on a 40 inch cord and divided them 72 front 72 back. What I'm afraid of messing up is : ok I knit first 72 sts together the rim, now how to do the other 72. This is the part. Do I treat it like knitting socks on msgic loop. Still want a video

@@yvonnevigil7489 OK I see what you are trying to do ... connecting your live stitches with the cast on edge for your folded brim. I can certainly do a future video on this. It may well be some time before I can do that as I have several videos in the works that I need to produce first. However, in the meantime I did knit up a quick swatch and tried this with magic loop. You first need to be sure to fold your brim over to the INSIDE of your magic loop. Then knit each live stitch with each cast on stitch together to connect the two. It is no different than any other knit round as it works with magic loop. When you are done with your first set of stitches slip your needles to knit the second set as you would with magic loop. Your cast on edge is safely tucked on the inside of your magic loop and you can continue to knit your live stitches with each cast on stitch. I hope that helps for the time being. I have on my planning list to do a magic loop hat and will try to incorporate this folded brim in that as well. Thank you for reaching out.

Hmmm, that is a good question and I have not tried that. It would take some time to determine with a sample swatch. However, my initial thought is that you may want to follow the technique for basic double knitting with stockinette on both sides and then just alternate which color yarn you are knitting for each stitch front and back. It may be a bit tedious way to knit, but it may be do-able. As I said I have not tried it myself, but I would be interested to know if you gave it a try.
